We had a King room that was roomy and comfortable with parking nearby. Great view of the Current River. Bed was comfortable and room location was pretty quiet, surprisingly. Only downsides were the A/C was noisy and the faux wood floors were being cleaned with some product that made them kinda sticky. We liked the Kuerig coffee maker in the room along with the nice size fridge. Check in experience was good too with friendly staff. We made reservations with a phone call and all went to expectation. Their restaurant onsite is The Blue Heron and it was good as well. Overall we had a good experience and will likely stay again.

Pros: modern, spacious rooms (incl. suites), mini-refrig, some with microwave, no bugs/spiders,…read morelink-up with float services, private river-front gravel bar, Jingles-the-Friendly-Siamese cat (loves kids), friendly staff, on-site good restaurant (evening only), comfortable mattresses, big balconies with Adirondack chairs, OK convenience store, AT&T reception very good, only partial river view from some rooms. For addicts, booze and pot close by. Cons: typical noisy blowy HVac wall units, no house phone in rooms, no luggage help, walk to Rose Cliff Lodge for ice, no cooking or fires allowed anywhere, max. 2-story walk ups depending on room (no elevators), pricey, noise from big rigs on Hwy 60 bridge (less noise in River Center), no house computer, no playground/River here a bit fast for younger kids to play in. The biggest problem with this otherwise quality property was (officially anyway) a "no cancellation/refund/credit" policy. They don't charge your card until you check in, so it is unclear how rigidly enforced this policy is (+ there's a $15 cancel fee per room/day). We got flooded out over July 2025 weekend (Park Service closes the river if it gets over 6 feet - follow this on NOAA website/river level Van Buren MO). We elected to stay regardless (kids are more flexible and inventive than adults!) The Landing is highly dependent on the weather and have a limited season, so they really can't insure your stay. Still, they should have an official credit option for a future stay credit. In Van Buren: "The" Mexican restaurant serves huge good portions. The steaks at the Landing's Blue Heron come out mooing - you may need to have them touched up. Best breakfast is at the Ranch House. No nightlife. In area: Big Spring is spectacular, floating is worth the price, but best in a canoe unless you like cold butt (there's an enormous cave upstream from Van Buren), little funky animal park is pricey but fun for kids. For floating, IMHO the best stretch of the Current is Aker's Ferry to Round Spring, and do it in drought after July 4 for clear water and to minimize deer flies and horse flies.

He was very sweet and professional, talking to us along the way about the area and what to expect from our trip. Upon arriving, the staff setting up the raft were super helpful and reassuring to a friend of mine, who's not as familiar with being on the water. Their 6 person raft was roomy enough for the 4 of us along with a small cooler, dry bag and towels we brought along. We had such a peaceful float on the Current River and had even been given (by our driver) advice on where to find a small cave and spring that was large enough to navigate in. We also saw turtles, a heron, a small weasel, too many birds and butterflies to count and dragonflies landing on our raft along the way. The color of the water, small bluffs and expansive green shores and blue skies, made this a memorable day. Carr's provided a wonderful and safe way to have this experience. Upon arriving, as they assured us, it was very easy to spot the place we hauled in. Within minutes of pulling in, they were there and ready to take us back to the lodge. Use Carr's and have an amazing time on the river!

All for $4.50 per person. They have a site for you no matter how big or small your group. All you have to do to reserve a spot, is call. The only time you need to pay in advance is a coveted holiday weekend, and then you need to book and pay in advance, cuz I'm not the only one who knows how great this place is! Once you've booked a site, book a trip! Canoes, kayaks, rafts, and tubes. Their equipment is clean and well maintained. $50 is the daily canoe rental fee. You pick your trip, 8 miles, 12, or 20. They even have multi-day trips, yours for the asking. Its important to note that they are the only canoe rental organization that carry radios, in case of emergencies, very important, because cell phone coverage is ify at best. It's the little extra amenities that separate Jadwin's from the others: 1) They will pick you up for your canoe trip at your campsite and return you there when you're done! 2) Warm showers (quarter fed) .50 for a long shower. 3) In door restrooms with electricity for blow drying and curling your hair when you're done playing nature girl! 4) They will deliver firewood to your campsite for $5 (10-15 logs). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Put your river trip in their hands and you won't regret it. With all this place has to offer, there's no reason not to have a great time on the river, even those high maintenance divas in your life...like me!

The Rector cabin's keypad would not lock as the lock would not engage so we had to leave our cabin unlocked the entire time we were on the river. The fire pit area next to the Boze cabin could have been mowed. Not enjoyable to sit around the camp fire with knee high grass and last but certainly not least is NO HOT WATER. Nothing sucks more than spending the day on the river to come back to ice water showers. When we told the guy at the office about it on Saturday morning before heading out on our final float trip he yelled at one of our family members to get on the bus and that it was Saturday and there was nothing they could do about it. Needless to say we will not spend our money at this outfitter again. Could have been a nice relationship for years to come but......

I came with 3 friends all of which had been using this location for 5-6 years. The staff was super nice and helpful. Really good price points. Decent camping spots with options to rent cabins on site. Bathroom and hot showers for all campers. It didn't matter if you were the first or 20th person to take a shower coming off the river, the water was still hot. Free firewood, which is super awesome bc I have stayed at a lot of campsites and firewood ends up always being a decent expense due to the pyro's I always camp with. We decided to do the kayak rental bc we all wanted our own freedom to move around on the river. They shuttled us down to Turner's Mill and we did the 14 mile float. Turner's Mill was awesome with cool plaques explaining what use to be there. I have floated the Black, Current, Merrimack, Huzzah and the Jack Forks River and this was easily the cleanest with the least amount of dumb drunks I have ever seen. The river is well maintained and the current made it so you were always moving at a good clip down it. The only downside was the 4 hours drive from my house. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks!
