Great view of the Current River. Bed was comfortable and room location was pretty quiet, surprisingly. Only downsides were the A/C was noisy and the faux wood floors were being cleaned with some product that made them kinda sticky. We liked the Kuerig coffee maker in the room along with the nice size fridge. Check in experience was good too with friendly staff. We made reservations with a phone call and all went to expectation. Their restaurant onsite is The Blue Heron and it was good as well. Overall we had a good experience and will likely stay again.

I stayed at this campground towards the end of the summer in 2015 and I had a TERRIBLE experience…read more From the very first night we were there, one staff member seemed to be going out of his way to cause conflict with our entire campground. Quiet hours started at 11:00 pm, and sure enough, they were there at 11:05, telling us to shut everything down immediately. This, in and of itself, I have no problem with. My problem was that, during that first visit to our campground at 11:05, one staff member (I believe his name was Shane), was very demeaning and condescending to our entire campground, which was full of nothing but adults. It was as if Shane was trying to pick a fight with us for some reason. The manner in which he spoke to us (again, this was during the very first interaction that we had) was horrible. I speak to my 4 year old son with more respect and courtesy that he did while he was speaking to us. And from there, it only got worse. He continued to visit the campground every 5 minutes until our fire was out and everyone was asleep, each time, his attitude worsened. I have never been treated so poorly by any employee at a campground, restaurant, hotel, or any other place of business in my life. It was as if this Shane person had some major problems in his life and he enjoyed taking out this pain and anguish on the people staying at this campground. I even spoke to several other campsites the next day, and they were all having very similar issues with this person. I would rather sleep in my car on the side of the road than visit this campground again. I encourage anyone staying in this area to FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY.
