Great view of the Current River. Bed was comfortable and room location was pretty quiet, surprisingly. Only downsides were the A/C was noisy and the faux wood floors were being cleaned with some product that made them kinda sticky. We liked the Kuerig coffee maker in the room along with the nice size fridge. Check in experience was good too with friendly staff. We made reservations with a phone call and all went to expectation. Their restaurant onsite is The Blue Heron and it was good as well. Overall we had a good experience and will likely stay again.

We have stayed at Shady Lane for several years during our annual float trips with friends. These…read morecabins are by far cleaner than any other cabins we have stayed at in this area. We have always stayed in the single cabins. The cabins are large and have plenty of room for our equipment. The cabin has a full bathroom, small refrigerator, TV with Dish Network and A/C. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. There is also large grassy areas to play yard games and wiffle ball in the evening. Although the cabins aren't right on the river, they are just a short walk away. We will continue to stay at Shady Lane during our annual float trips with friends.

Water is available at 1 location, restrooms are across from boat ramp. The boat ramp is about 75 yards from the campground. Restrooms have 1 shower. No electricity. This is considered a primitive camp area. Was quiet till around 8 o'clock when a few squatters come out and set up a tent then leave around 6 am. They don't pay, but was up several times at night with a flashlight looking around the area. When I was there it was quiet and peaceful. Cost is $10 a camp site per day.

The water was clear and slow, the gravel bars wide, and two people has their beach chairs planted right in the shallows looking like they had life completely figured out. I was honestly envious because it looked like the perfect way to spend a warm and sunny morning. The bridge overhead carries its own story, and the high water marks painted on the concrete really drive it home, especially that 2017 line sitting way higher than you would expect. You might feel the river's calm now, but those marks remind you how wild it can get. This…read moreweekend it was just myself and my boyfriend but I can't wait to come back with a big group of my friends for a relaxing and fun girls trip! We arrived late on Thursday but the new owners were so nice and more than accommodating letting us into our cabin and showing us around. Our cabin was clean, spacious, and well stocked. We stayed in cabin #14, with two closed-door bedrooms (each bedroom with a queen and twin mattress) and a queen mattress in the front room. This unit could sleep 8 people. There was a huge porch out front which we loved. The kitchen was all set with coffee maker, toaster, microwave, pots/pans, and more than enough plates/cutlery/glassware. The bathroom had many towels and the beds were extremely comfortable. I got up each morning well rested and walked around the property which has a beautiful spring fed pond and a creek flowing throughout the property. Across the street from the resort, there is a lovely set of trails to hike/bike along Black River and Clearwater lake. It was our first time visiting this area and the new owners (very kind and generous people) gave so many lovely suggestions for food, activities, swimming, and the best hiking spots! We loved our stay, and we can't wait to come back to spring valley resort!

Unfortunately, the amenities were not as advertised despite being confirmed a week prior after a storm. Communication is rather difficult as there is no staff available and both phone call and in person conversations are very hurried. Despite greeting our party with a list of things not working and not greeting my mother when she checked into her trailer, owners were unpleasant. Staring at us when we used the pool and turning our guests away from the clubhouse we rented. It almost seemed like they wanted to make things as hard as possible for my great grandmother (85) and grandfather. I truly have never seen anyone be so callous. I think just saying, "I'm sorry this isn't working, it's out of our control" would have gone a long way. Instead we got, too bad, you can leave but no refunds. Overall, you won't be in the unit you paid for nor will you be near those you book with...just the worst customer service imaginable.
