I had the pleasure of staying in spring valley resort for a beautiful three-day-weekend. This weekend it was just myself and my boyfriend but I can't wait to come back with a big group of my friends for a relaxing and fun girls trip! We arrived late on Thursday but the new owners were so nice and more than accommodating letting us into our cabin and showing us around. Our cabin was clean, spacious, and well stocked. We stayed in cabin #14, with two closed-door bedrooms (each bedroom with a queen and twin mattress) and a queen mattress in the front room. This unit could sleep 8 people. There was a huge porch out front which we loved. The kitchen was all set with coffee maker, toaster, microwave, pots/pans, and more than enough plates/cutlery/glassware. The bathroom had many towels and the beds were extremely comfortable. I got up each morning well rested and walked around the property which has a beautiful spring fed pond and a creek flowing throughout the property. Across the street from the resort, there is a lovely set of trails to hike/bike along Black River and Clearwater lake. It was our first time visiting this area and the new owners (very kind and generous people) gave so many lovely suggestions for food, activities, swimming, and the best hiking spots! This campground has some nice aesthetics to it. The manager is a California transplant that has put some lipstick on the pig- so to speak. Unfortunately, the amenities were not as advertised despite being confirmed a week prior after a storm. Communication is rather difficult as there is no staff available and both phone call and in person conversations are very hurried. Despite greeting our party with a list of things not working and not greeting my mother when she checked into her trailer, owners were unpleasant. Staring at us when we used the pool and turning our guests away from the clubhouse we rented. It almost seemed like they wanted to make things as hard as possible for my great grandmother (85) and grandfather. I truly have never seen anyone be so callous. I think just saying, "I'm sorry this isn't working, it's out of our control" would have gone a long way. Instead we got, too bad, you can leave but no refunds. Overall, you won't be in the unit you paid for nor will you be near those you book with...just the worst customer service imaginable. read more

Not only would I not recommend this campground/trailer park but I would advise you to steer clear. We gave the owners an opportunity to redeem last year's bad experience just to let her burn us again. I thought it was inexperience but turns out it's dishonesty. Guess I should've realized that when the resort's cabins were trailers. FACILITIES Pros- Play-area, pool, many shaded lots, picnic tables, pet friendly, fire-rings, BBQ, creek, no pet rules, no pool rules, no curfew, no landscaping between sites, a garbage dumpster. Trailers have A/C, coffee pot & filters. Online booking but was told it was inaccurate. Vibrant online presence going by multiple names but no cell or wifi at the campground so inaccessible during the stay. CONS- No maps online or clear photos of campsites. Sites are not marked clearly or sometimes at all. No Showers. Weak water pressure in trailers. The RV site literally backs up to a house. The Wi-Fi is not stable, no laundry facilities. One very dirty bathroom only opens when pool open. No pull thru spots. Poor to No Accessibility for Disabled. NO Useful or Clear Signage except for a no dog sign but everyone had a dog. Unpleasant staff. Maintenance of grass had more than typical mosquitos, wasps, and chiggers. No group sites.. Many amenities listed were not available ex: Upon checking in was told that "Wifi & TV" not working. No contracts, rules, agreements, or policies to hold the campground accountable. No manager or employee was "on call" or any way to contact during the stay (phones don't work) ex: The washing machine didn't work but no one to request assistance. The trailer tub was gross with hair in the drain flexing with each toilet flush. Overly caulked drain and no caulk around the shower flushing debris into the shower with you. I love a good campground but the issues here are more than poor customer service and lack of communication. It is unsafe due to health and safety violations as well as just complete disregard for customer service. CUSTOMER SERVICE Overall poor communication, and no check-in or greeting by staff. Unable to call from property. I called out from the pool and was verbally given a Wi-Fi password but was told it only worked at the other end of the campground. No info about garbage pick-up, check-in or check-out clean-up procedures etc. Another uncomfortable thing was staff gave guests' children orders to help her. This was not correcting a behavior or their mess. RESERVATIONS NOT HONORED We rented the clubhouse for the day. The owner then realized she double booked and told us to move back party three hours which wasn't possible with out-of-state guests arriving. Especially, as there was no cell or wifi service there to contact people. Elisa then approached guests and told them there was another event (there wasn't). She moved our guests to an outdoor pavilion without A/C, refrigerator, restrooms, or banquet table for serving food that was reserved. We were next to the clubhouse we rented which remained empty. When another guest asked manager denied making prior guarantees. Owner insisted she didn't make a guarantee despite four separate customers indicating they were told otherwise. There is no way to contact staff other than approaching when you see them. However, Elisa didn't turn or acknowledge when spoken to when being asked for help making it harder to converse and hear. Truly the weekend I was there no one on staff smiled once or even said "I'm sorry your phone, wifi, TV, or washer are not functioning. Not one, "Sorry or smile". SAFETY The trailer we rented had sat unlocked with keys left in the door overnight. A/C condensation made a mud pit behind the back door. Once it was dark three people slipped into it and fell. Wasps nests at every location I visited including the cottage deck, cabin porch, pool umbrella, and pavilion. Particularly alarming when no phone or internet and 3 members with sting allergies. HEALTH CONCERNS Mouse droppings on kitchen counter despite cleaning fee. No sink in poolside bathroom No ability to make phone or wifi calling in event of emergency Able-ist --- pulling hard of hearing aside solo from pool, requiring long walking distances up hills for elderly. Age-ist very disrespectful to seniors (dismissive and threatening). CLEANLINESS No Broom/Dustpan in trailer Limited TP and one garbage bag. No one came to pick up garbage from my trailer for two day stay or direct where it should go. Black Ants in kitchen on oven. Refrigerator was not cold set to warmest. Freezer was dirty with debris throughout. read more

Unfortunately there's no star rating less than one or that would be what I would give this horrific dump of a so-called "cabin." The place was a converted garage with spider webs and filth all over. The coffee pot had mold in it and the water heater didn't work half the time. The smell alone was was so gross we could barely stand it. The setting of this resort is unbeatable! A gorgeous pond sits on one end, a spring runs through the entire resort, the pool is spotless and shady grassy area in the middle of it all is great for kids to run and play. The cabin was clean and cozy! The owners were out and about at the start of each day until the end making sure trash cans were emptied and all our needs were met! read more

We just spent a week at Spring Valley Resort. It was amazing! We camped in our trailer. Elisa and Levi were great hosts. They were very accommodating. This family run resort is tranquil. You can sit by the spring fed creek, take a dip in the poo,l or hang out in the rec room or pavillion. It's location is ideal for taking in the local sights. It's a wonderful place to get away with family and friends. We are definitely coming back! read more

We stayed at Spring Valley Resort this weekend. We are frequent visitors to Piedmont and this was our 3rd stay this summer at Spring Valley. We checked in around 5pm and got to our cabin and started settling in. Around 8pm, we noticed that the window in the back door was shattered. There was a small hole in the window also. We decided to make sure the door was locked (the sign posted next to the door said to keep it locked). It was not locked. I tried to lock it and it would not lock at all. I stayed in this cabin in June as well and the door did not lock then either. When I opened and closed the door, a basketball size section of glass fell out. I tried to call the front office and the phone in our cabin did not work. It also did not work in June. So I went to the office and there was no one there. I drove to the dam to get cell service and no one answered the office phone. Left a message. So we went back to the cabin and luckily I had some tape with me so I taped up the hole. When we woke the next morning, we discovered the ants. Ants all over the kitchen and ants in one of the beds! We stopped by the front office at 10am and it was locked. No one there. We drove to the dam once again for cell service and called. No answer. Left a message. Stopped back by the office after breakfast at around 10:45 and still locked, no one there. We headed to the lake and came back around 5pm. Tried the office, locked and no one there. No one from Spring Valley resort contacted us all weekend. We had ants everywhere, no phone and a broken door that could not be locked. We left the cabin this morning around 8:30am and there has still (as of 12 noon Sunday 8/25) been NO CONTACT with the owners of Spring Valley Resort. If this is how the new owners of Spring Valley (also the owners of Sunset Point) run their resort, I don't want to do business with them and I will tell everyone not to stay there! read more

My family has been having a family reunion here for 3 years so I've had a little time to get to know the owners. The campground is owner by a couple. The wife is the primary one that works the phones. in past years I have found her to be out of touch but with the lack of areas to stay down here it was bearable. This is the first year I have truly had a problem with her. She promised my Grandparents a camper spot that was close to the pool since they are older and requested early enough to follow there first come first serve policy. They did not follow though on that or putting any of my other family members together. The wife keep confusing us with the other family leading to us all be separated. They double book the area that was for our reunion and instead of kindly letting us know they forced us to push back the party by 3 hours when we had family traveling from out of state. There were many older family members that had to be in the warm of the sun on 90 degree plus day when were should of had the closed room for rent. My grandmother even paid for that area and they didn't offer and discount or return the money. They also made a point to pull my grandfather out of the pool while he was playing with his grandchildren to tell him this. They also made a point to tell him that they would be aloud to kick out because we were upset with their service. Now everyone makes mistakes , but not correcting them is where this campground failed. I will not suggest this campground to anyone else nor will I even spend my money here. I think my 20 plus family members would say the same. Please try the campground next door. read more

Took my family here for the weekend and loved it. The cabins are nice and clean with beautiful scenery. The new owners Levi and Elisa are the nicest people and go out of there way to make sure your stay is pleasant. We will definitely go back and see them in the future. My SO and I, along with a 2 yr old and 2 month old, just stayed at Spring Valley and we enjoyed everything about it! The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating from the time I made the reservation (extremely last minute) to the time we left the resort. The cabin was very clean and cozy, with plenty of room for my 2 yr old to play. It was very well stocked with all essentials and every appliance was clean and ready to be used. The owners were there throughout the day and late into the evening working nonstop maintaining the grounds and making sure every customer was taken care of. I made a couple of trips to the office for miscellaneous reasons (my cabin was right next to the office so I chose the walk instead of calling) and Barb was always there and quickly and efficiently helped with whatever I needed. We didn't use the pool, but it looked extremely clean and my son absolutely loved the play area next to it. I could not be more pleased with our stay and how well we were treated by the owners. They are great people and Spring Valley is a great resort. We will definitely be back! read more
