I love this place. Been going her since I was a kid and I'm 54 now. You got to know the owners are…read morethe nicest people around. The location is unmatched with access to the lake. The cabins are rustic but clean. He rents little boats out and sells minnows. The best Crappie fishing is around that bend gentleman. An old tree fell in the water and that's where you gotta be, is over that tree. If you go to the left you will enjoy my favorite pass time. Catching blue gill. When the blackberry bushes had flowered it means Blue gill are spawning. All so across where you see the big jetty of rocks. There's blue gill beds there. I love to just sit on the dock and fish. It's said no fishing on the dock since I first came down there. And if he likes you and your respectfully he will let you get away with it. In the evening when the suns going down make sure your loaded up on night crawlers. We sit in lawn chairs along the place people put there boat in. We fish both sides. So much action with channel cat! I had a 50+ lb almost to shore and my husband forgot the net. Divorced him for not performing his duties to me. I take fishing seriously. I learned to fish on that lake when I was 4. Both my kids learned to fish that lake. That resort is like going to grandpas house. Everything's nice and slow. The owner and his lovely sister ran this place after his wife died. Now he lost her a few years back. I haven't been there since her death. But I'm going this year, a lot and always to Lost Creek. 2 helpful hints. There's a short cut down a windy heart stopping road I love to town. Ask, he will tell ya were the turn off is. Don't miss fishing at the damn for gars and huge fish at night. Different rules at the damn. Snagging was a loud when I was going before. There's also some great little mom and pops restraunt. The best place to swim is People's Creek. It's 1 1/2 hr from St. Louis but it feels like you've stepped into another time. Guys if your women are prissy don't even try to go there. My brother took his wife on a trip to Tx but they spent there first night at Lost Creek. It was early in the season and occasionally there may be mice problems because, face it your in the woods. Yeah she was not a fan and made him leave. Glad he divorced her. He's a hunter and outdoors man and sorry guys, you can't marry a prissy women and have the life you want. At 54 i say find someone who shares your interest. It will save you a huge lawyer bill . Come visit Lost Creek

I use to come to this place when I was a little kid with My family and it hasn't changed a bit. I…read morehave so many good memories about this place. I am really glad to see it still up and running. It is a step back in time coming down here but that's what I love about it. It's just You and the people that are with You and fishing. And the people who run it are very nice good people. I live less than a hour away now and will come back every chance I get.

The prices were very reasonable, and the services offered are a godsend for local trail hikers, especially if you want to take advantage of Arcadia's Amtrak station. I came to Missouri to hike the Ozark Trail. Due to mechanical issues, my car wasn't up to the trip, so I had to take the train instead. The Fort Davidson Hotel offers a shuttle service between the hotel and the train station, as well as between the hotel and various trailheads. Tim picked me up from the station when the train arrived around 10 p.m. and drove me to the hotel, where my room was ready. The next morning, he drove me to a trailhead to begin my hike. Some days later, he met me at a different trailhead at an agreed-upon time and drove me back to the hotel. Tim's wife, Cindy, once again had my room ready, and even gave me a free upgrade to a room with a jaccuzzi tub to soak my sore muscles! Once I had cleaned up and changed, Tim drove me around town to pick up some snacks for the train ride home. There were two restaurant/bars a short walk away (half a mile), so I took care of dinner on my own. Finally, Tim woke up in the wee hours to drive me to the train station at 4 a.m. for the 4:25 train back home.

Our room was clean and comfortable! Well located to nice places to eat and explore! Front desk…read morehelpful. Only issue was a mysterious deep industrial kind of creepy noise that seemed to be coming from next to or behind our room between 1 and 2 am each night that caused me to have to wear earplugs to sleep.
