It took a great deal of effort to get them to take cash, again because their reservation system was down and they did not have a business contingency plan. read more

First of all, thanks to Ethan for helping us during our stay. He was informative and friendly. The hotel is Dog friendly, spacious king size room, clean atmosphere, and our room on the first floor had vaulted ceilings way above 10 feet Wish I had the specifics. It made the room feel enormous. The hotel is located near to great restaurants. Doordashes during the one night stay and ate comfortably on their couch/ottoman while watching TV. I would recommend this place for a nice stay. read more

Did they forget??? They are a mediocre Hampton Inn??? Booked here for the eclipse and they totally raped all guests by charging an exorbitant amount. Normally a room here runs around $140ish, but they chose to make a years worth of revenue in one weekend and were charging us $479 per night ( and we booked 9 months in advance!) others were paying $800 a night! Shame on them. By the way, there were no added amenities for this huge increase. Same average room, same average breakfast- nothing that said you are a Hilton honors member here is your eclipse gift, nothing , just an upcharge based only on their personal greed. So thank you Poplar Bluff Hampton Inn for my triple increase in cost stay. In the future we will spend our money elsewhere read more

My absolute favorite thing about this hotel is as soon as you walk through the doors the air that touches your body is CLEAN.. like you don't even need to look around you because you can feel the clean hit your body as soon as you walk in Everything was clean!!! Above and beyond actually. The pillows are great. The whole entire bedding is great actually. Everything is easy to find and in plain sight. I felt comfortable and peaceful and safe, which is all I could ask for. Especially considering we piled in with our 2 overly tired children who took on a 12 hour car ride. The TV is HUGE too, I honestly feel like the price is a steal.. at least compared to a lot of other hotels these days.. this one puts in the work for sure and it is noticed and it is GREATLY appreciated. I think the staff deserves a pizza party or something ! I would give the cleaning staff a pat on the back and not let them go un noticed. You can tell when someone is actually washing and cleaning everything every time and when they are skipping steps and at this hotel I can tell you they are not skipping ! read more

first off I payed $80 online booking for a $30 room. Lobby is the nicest part of hotel. I guess the real ownership has changed. room not terrible but get to it the the common hallway is bad no house keeping to carpet and base boards falling of the wall and broken furniture laying in the stair way. I only wish I could get a refund.... Do not stay here read more

I didn't find the same warm feeling at this Hampton location as others I've been to. My coworker with me for a trip specifies in the reservation instructions first floor preference due to being terrified of the elevator and heights and accommodations were not made for her and she was put into the second floor so she had to lug suitcases up/down the stairwell and had an uneasy nights sleep. The king room I had was a nice size but the bathroom shower floor was dirty and the chair in room was very old and worn. The room walls are so thin I could hear everything going on around me. I usually hear something and am used to neighbor noise but this was excessive. I'll choose another location the next time but I would recommend this location get some replacement items and do cleaning audits/inspections. The price was cheap and location convenient so I did give a 3 star for those reasons. read more

While traveling for the holidays, our small kids were getting restless and we knew we needed to stop to rest. We showed up at 4:15am, and the employee at the front desk was so kind and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we loved all of the added hand sanitizer stations and wipes around the hotel. Super clean hotel. We stopped on the way to Kansas City from Kentucky and could not have been happier. Beds are pretty comfy and I love the pillows. Bathrooms are pretty spacious for a hotel. My favorite touch was the photos in the rooms are all from around poplar bluff - mostly historical. I just LOVE when hotels add little things like that to make it feel a little more homey! We stayed here twice. Once on our way to vacation and once again on the way back through. On the return, the staff was very cavalier about wearing masks and in fact was commenting with a customer and laughing about not feeling the need to wear them. In this age of the Corona Pandemic, I expect all hotels to take this seriously and protect us from exposure. I was angered at the fact that the kitchen staff/ attendant during breakfast was no wearing a mask. She could have been potentially contaminating everyones food. We refused to eat there and informed the front office staff. The evening before when we checked in, the front desk person was also not wearing a mask. Disturbing. I know that it is Hilton's policy to enforce masks during this time, so I am disappointed that the take this so casually. I suppose when and if a person they know drowns and suffocates in their own mucus and dies utterly alone in a hospital and on a ventilator, then they might take this seriously. It is a terrible and ugly death, people, and you get to enjoy it alone and without the comfort of your family. Take it seriously! read more

This review was started back in November during my stay. Sorry for the late submission. The hotel is clean and looks like its been remodeled recently. The room is huge with a comfortable king size bed, work space and a small kitchenette. They serve free breakfast in the dining area with the usual fare. An indoor pool and fitness center. Overall a nice place. I am a loyal customer with Hilton and an Elite member of the program. I stay at Hilton properties quite often. This was by far the worst experience. OK, now for the reason why they got such a low rating. When I first checked in and went to the room, it was infested with ladybug beetles (it turns out they are mating this week). When I called down, they did send someone to vacuum up the problem, but if they know this is going on. They should have asked me to have a cup of coffee while they "ready" the room. The lack of staff and their lack of being proactive is a problem and I blame management for that. When they are around they are friendly, but good luck finding one. They are either outside smoking or they are on their cell phone having a personal conversation. The complimentary coffee was old, there was no more creamer and it took a long time to finally get some. As for the other amenities, the TV keeps going in and out constantly that you can barely watch a show and the free internet is very slow. read more

Sorry guys, but this was an excellent stay for 2 rooms in Polar Bluff. The double queens is spacious, very clean, and has huge flat screen. The single king with walk-in shower and spacious room was the cleanest I've seen. We got a great night sleep before a drive back to Illinois. Don't forget the breakfast spread was amazing. Hampton Inns are almost too good to be true. Until this particular stay in Poplar Bluff, my experience was as follows: No matter what location, the Hampton Inn quality is uniformly great: Simple, Clean, Courteous and Efficient Service. Well, so much for that assumption. I stayed at the Poplar Bluff Hampton Inn in early July 2015. This is by FAR the worst hotel experience that I've ever had. This hotel is just poorly run. And while the staff is courteous and very friendly, they are entirely incompetent. First let me note that I am a loyal customer of Hampton Inn (I'm a Silver level in Hilton Honors which means that I stay at Hampton Inns several times each year) Cleanliness: My wife and I booked 2 adjoining rooms. The daily cleaning consisted of sloppily making up our beds and emptying the trash in one of the rooms. The bathroom wasn't tended to. The floor wasn't vacuumed. Paper cups, soap and shampoo were not replenished. I called down to the front desk and someone named Jami informed us that the hotel was understaffed and rooms could not be completely cleaned. WHAT?!! If the management of the hotel is too ineffective at hiring and maintaining cleaning staff then why didn't they get themselves in there to help clean? Cleaning hotel rooms is one of the basic functions of a hotel business. If you cannot maintain clean rooms for paying customers, then don't accept hotel guests. It's that simple. Poor Construction This hotel is very poorly constructed. Noise from the gym across the street awoke my wife and I early in the morning. Noisy Patrons The room above us was a constant source of noise, stomping, shouting, dropping things etc. We and several hotel guess complained about the source of this noise. The hotel staff literally did nothing to alleviate the noise. Breakfast The coffee was cold as was much of the cooked food. Not very 'Hampton Inn' at all. In short. Don't stay here. Go camping, go to one of the other awful hotel chains in Poplar Bluff. But don't go here. If you're used to Hampton Inn quality, you're view of HI will change for ever. If you're not a regular customer of Hampton Inns, then you'll never want to stay a Hampton Inns ever again. -- Don't let this place destroy your notion of Hampton Inn Quality. Me and my dreamboat husband only stayed here one night, but that was enough time to see that it is a clean and VERY well staffed hotel. The night staff was friendly and accommodating when we arrived. Our room was missing a television remote and they, without question, allowed us to switch rooms immediately. The following morning, the complimentary breakfast was incredible, as it always is at Hampton. But this one stood out thanks to the incredibly friendly "breakfast guy"... not sure what to call him. He asked several times if he could help us in any way and even came and picked up our plates as we were finished up our breakfast. We called blindly, hoping thier reputation would live up to expectations after a day of let downs! One of those long, hilarious b/c it's just a lost day, kind of travel experiences... We checked in and met Chad, who greeted us with light jokes and a smile. We hung out down in the lobby lounge area playing a game and he went above and beyond to accommodate while we were down there.
