It really does hurt my heart to have to write such a post about one of our favorite hotel chains…read more We just love the Drury Inn... but I wouldn't encourage anyone to stay at this one. We checked in and were immediately given a hard time. Upon checkin Lindsay wanted all of my information like I stole something when I entered. There were multiple people behind the wall of the front desk giggling and laughing but only one person checking in. Shortly after check in, I went back to the front desk to explain our issue. Wheelchair wouldn't fit inside the room. Walker barely fit inside the bathroom. I have added pictures to explain. When I went back up front it was two new ladies standing there. The only offer they could give me was a King Size ADA, which wouldn't work for us. It took them less than 2 minutes to even try. There was no care in the world that my grandmother would be very inconvenienced here. They could have cared less. This has not been our experience at all as Drury Inns have been unbelievable in having such amazing Customer Service. Do not stay here if you want a decent room. They will put you in a hole and could care less how you get yourself around.

We stayed in a double queen room and the beds were so comfortable that I didn't want to get up in the morning. The shower was relaxing and all of the complementary shampoo/conditioner/body wash that was in the shower was quite convenient (though the conditioner comes out very slow). As the shower head is a rainfall type, there isn't a tremendous amount of water pressure coming out at once. Regardless, the shower was great and got all of us clean. The rooms themselves were very clean and comfortable. The pool area was clean and had fresh towels for use. The hot tub was small but had mighty jets. The pool itself was cool as far as temperature goes but interesting as you could swim from inside the building to outside. To add to all of the positives, Drury Inn offers complementary dinner snacks (more like a full meal) and drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic) for their guests. That's right, if you are staying here you get three free alcoholic beverages a night, per registered adult. Breakfast was your typical hotel food for the most part. They had waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, breads, and oatmeal. In addition, they had a few different kinds of juices, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and even a soda machine. Overall, we were impressed with our stay and would definitely stay here again.

On our first day we went to the office and inquired about borrowing a golf cart to transport our things between the dock and our cabin and were told they didn't have any. There were numerous Totten's golf carts around the premises and we saw other guests on them. We picked up some family members on the other side of the lake and brought them by boat to our resort. My father in law is disabled with a cane and had already fallen several times that day. He tried to walk up the hill himself and almost fell again. My husband went back to the marina to ask to borrow a golf cart but John was talking with someone inside watching my father in-law on the hill and laughing at him. Due to the urgency of my father in laws condition on the hill and the disrespect of John, my husband got in the Totten cart to pick up his dad and get him up the hill before he fell. After dropping him off, my husband brought the golf cart right back to the marina at which point John came outside and started cussing at my husband and threatening him saying he was going to call the sheriffs department for theft of the cart. The cart was already returned and John knew we are guests of the resort since we had to track him down 2 days in a row to try to buy ice from the marina. We couldn't believe that they would treat their customers that way in a situation of trying to help a disabled man on their property. We immediately checked out. I would not recommend this resort. Any family business should put family first and respect the fact that the property is difficult for people to get around. We had hoped to end our day with a nice family barbecue but instead it ended with our family being threatened for transporting a disabled man up the hill. In the future this resort should be more accommodating to their guests and offer to help people up the hill instead of laugh at them.
