On our motorcycle trip from Richmond Virginia to the Grand Canyon and back, we have really lucked out on great places to stay and our night at the Comfort Inn Poplar Bluff was no exception! The staff is warm and welcoming. The lobby is tidy. Our room was spacious and clean. The pressure in the shower could have been a little better, but it was hot. Lots of TV channels were available. BEST beds and pillows! I don't think I moved all night, once my head hit that pillow. Best sleep ever. There's a generous free breakfast with eggs, sausage, hash browns, waffles, breads, muffins, oatmeal, cereals, juices. Also, check out the awesome restaurant right next door, Bread & Butter. It's within walking distance. Several other restaurants are also close by. If you are in this area and need to lay your head, look no further! 5 stars! read more

So DIRTY. From the elevators to the rooms - gross. The hallway carpets are visibly stained and they look like they've never been cleaned. My baby's feet left black marks on the white sheets after walking around the carpeted room because they are so dirty. My parents stayed with us in a separate room and their comforter had dirty dog paw prints on it from a previous guest. We opened our fridge and there was an old cantaloupe in it that made the whole room smell like garbage. Seems as though it had been there for a while. When we told the staff the room hadn't been cleaned properly they didn't even offer to remove the rotten fruit. Overall, we left feeling like we need to shower. read more

Took us on late notice and had a very clean room. Nice staff. Unfortunately the laundry room was horrendous - the washer was free but so dated & dirty. The dryer was completely broken. Tumbled clothes but didn't have heat at all. Parking was limited. read more

The hotel room, needed repairs. Multiple dents and paint scratches in the bathroom. The worst part, however, was the bed linens. They were stained and dirty. Finding a stray hair that does not belong to anyone in your party is just gross. That said, the gentleman who checked me in, was very kind friendly and helpful. The two ladies that checked me out in the morning, however we're not overly friendly and did not present well. The breakfast, was subpar. The cereal was stale and there wasn't enough coffee. We left without eating. It didn't help that, there were many people in the breakfast area, none of which wearing a mask. read more

Upon entering our room, it smelled like wet dog. The sheets were all wrinkly. Something is split all on the wall. The pillows smelled....bad (like poop)....and we found socks under underneath a bed. We all are wearing sandals...obviously this room was half ass cleaned or not cleaned at all. Oh and they had bagels, no cream cheese (that was a big upset for other guests here at breakfast.) Very disappointed. We stayed here because of the 4+ star rating. There was a sign on our room door that said the carpet was damp due to being washed. The room had a horrible musty and pungent odor. We should have walked out and asked for another room but we didn't and the odor just seemed to get worse. At breakfast the next morning my husband picked up a plate and there was a tiny roach on it. After a long, humid, rough drive through the south we stayed the night here. Now let me tell you, this is my second time staying the night here and I would always recommend. The workers are super nice. Hopefully I never have to do this drive again but if so, I'll stay at the comfort inn. read more

The upside: I was greeted by a friendly front desk person who welcomed me to the property and made the check-in process go smoothly. My room was ready and I received my keys quickly. The morning breakfast the next day was decent but the front desk person was also the person responsible for keeping the breakfast foods stocked. She was running back and forth a lot trying to keep up. Now the downside: We had not even made it to our room on the second floor when just outside of our room was literally a pile of dog turds. Not kidding. I went down to the front desk and asked them to immediately clean it up. She came up and apologized and cleaned up the pile. Inside of our room, the room was clean but the air conditioner was off. We turned it on and left to visit some friends. Upon return the room was cooler but very humid. Next morning our clothing was damp from the humidity and the room smelled like mildew. Before checking out I went to the 2nd floor vending machine and saw another pile of dog turds that must have been there for days as it was all dried out. I reported this as well. It was then cleaned up. The entire length of the 2nd floor hallway carpet is stained with urine and dog turds and has not been cleaned in who knows how long. Since there are so many stains on the carpet, my experience is not unique. I partially blame the staff for not even trying to keep the place clean. However the brunt of the blame is management. Obviously the owners have either not been actively involved in protecting the image of Comfort Inn, or they just don't give a rat's you know what. In case you are wondering, yes I have pictures and am happy to share. I recommend avoiding this property. Our room with tax was just about $100 for the one night. I am sure there are other better managed properties in Poplar Bluff. read more

The improvement that this hotel could make is better signage to their soda machine. The snack machine has a sign with text and a cartoon character pointing to the door that hides the soda machine but a larger sign with a pepsi or coke logo would be more understandable. The room was clean and nicely appointed, so it was a good value for the money and a pleasant way to spend the night while traveling. read more

Good place to stay. All amenities one expects. I would stay here again. Nice rooms, good tv and internet service.

Have used this as our overnight stop on the way to IL. Rooms are very nice and very clean. Bed linen smells so fresh. And employees are very friendly and customer service orientated. Breakfast was tasty and hot. Thank you goes to them for making our stop over very nice. Pet friendly too read more
