Really friendly, attentive, and hard-working staff. Everyone from the hostess to wait staff were great. Nice venue, just wish the tables and chairs weren't so packed together. Went to see Matt Rife, he was great! Seems he's blowing up as a comedian, so wanted to go to a show before tickets to see him become expensive and hard to get. Liked the loaded fries, very generous with the cheese, bacon and sour cream. Also got a mocktail of "the darker the berry" drink. Beautiful presentation and tasty. Only problem was I was allergic to something in it! Absolutely not their fault, though I should have asked what was in it just to try and figure out what I was allergic to. Never had a problem with blackberries, lime or ginger ale before. Definitely know it's not the blackberries, I ate the one floating as garnish and was fine. It was only when sipping the drink that my throat felt itchy and my lips tingled. My friend wasn't a fan of the drink, so sadly it was left mostly untouched and forlorn. Oxnard Levity Live does not have Handicap accessibility. There was a show I badly wanted to attend - unless I paid several hundred dollars for a booth, PLUS ticket cost for each seat IN THE BOOTH I was told that seating was not available for me. They pretended there was a solution and would call me back, yet, in spite of my several calls, they never called back. That middle finger let me know the kind of outfit Oxnard Levity Live is. Now I'm recovered from my acute post-op needs - yet it's not possible to forget the BS, lack of accommodation, and failure to communicate from this venue. We went to see Trae Crowder bathe other evening at this venue. We had the VIP Booth with lots of food and drink included. We did not even use up all our credit. Service was excellent. Friendly, efficient, and attentive as well as informative for neophytes like we were. The "Pre-show" was funny and entertainment. And there is plenty of free parking. read more

From my first experience to my most recent, it has really gone down hill. Each time I have attended an event here, we wait outside to be let in. Unfortunately, by the time they open the doors we have been standing outside, in line, over 30 mins and often times as of late, more than an hour past the time the show should have started. For girls wearing heels, it's just painful. (speaking from experience) With no one coming out to give us an update that they are cleaning from the prior show or a comedian is running late, or anything, it is very annoying. I have joined numerous friends here for birthday over the years, but we have all been dissapointed as of late. Not returning several credit cards at the end of the night and having to drive back the next day for them after being rushed out of the venue felt like a distraction and no one is taking responsibility for credit cards not being returned promptly before the show ended. Yes, this happened to several in our group and many of us were not drinking so we are clear on timing of everything. The biggest reason why a low rating....the email response form the management team is horrible! My initial correspondence was timely, just a couple days after the event, their response stated no refunds after 7 days (they responded on day 10 I believe to my email), but I initiated everything within the refund period, then no replacement tickets arrived as offered, and topped off with my follow-up emails all being ignored and no response til this day. Horrible customer service! Service during the show wasn't good! Waiting well beyond show time with no update is unacceptable! The only good thing is they have some decent talent coming though to perform. Personally, I'll be seeing these great comedians elsewhere. read more

Shady business practices-- be aware that on top of the price of the ticket, you'll be forced to purchase two menu items during the show. The cheapest was a $7 bottle of water. This isn't listed at all when you purchase a ticket to the show, only in tiny font on the ticket itself once you've made the nonrefundable purchase. Also their manager was exceptionally rude. And the sound from the kitchen and employee's radios were loud and distracting. The experience was truly shocking, I was just there to have a nice night support my comedian friend. We arrived and waited over 35 mins for anyone to wait on us.. then at the very end of the show a person came up to us saying we needed to buy two things each in order to stay. We knew the deal and planned on paying for two things each but no one gave us any attention for THE WHOLE SHOW which made it impossible to order two things each. I have been going to comedy shows for decades and never dealt with this level of poor service. We told them we disagreed and then they brought over security to take us out. Completely crazy and unnecessary. I'm shocked this happened. It was SO offensive after paying $40 each to get in and then waiting forever for service then have someone get security. Last comedy show we came to Paul Rodriguez we were not happy with half ass service. This week at Frankie Quinones show our service with Rafa was amazing. My wife and I come here often, after the last show we were question if should waist the money coming back or give this venue another shot. I am happy we decided to come back. Rafael was our sever, the staff was on top of it. I will say this the waiting staff was not our issue, it was our direct sever that made the experience bad. The overall staff is always amazing. As a business owner, I know the importance of always providing the best customer experience no matter how busy you are and Rafa showed that is still possible at Levity Live. The manager here is a NAZI. When we bought tickets for the show noone said there was a 2 item minimum. So we each ordered a drink and then 30 minutes into the show they were already calling last call and saying we had to order 2 more drinks or food. I would order food but it is total SHIT so no ,pass. The venue is conveniently located off the freeway, surrounded by plenty of options for food and drinks while waiting for the show. The booths are modern and comfortable--thank you, Evie, for the excellent service! My wife enjoyed several perfectly-made cosmos, and I had beer and wings. The other couple with us had Old Fashioned and kept ordering them along with more cosmos for his partner. Management Traci deserves a shoutout for running a great team and ensuring the nachos and wings were served hot and fresh. The comedians were fantastic, especially Saul Trujillo, who brought his crowd and crushed it. Overall, I had a wonderful evening and will definitely be returning soon. This was my first time to a comedy club, first time to this venue & first time to Oxnard. My friends & I booked a booth (which included a $200 food beverage tab). We arrived a little after 6pm (the show started at 7:30pm) and were seated immediately. There were several staff members available to help us. We picked the booth we wanted & got started using up our $200 tab while we waited for the show to start. Most of the food was very good - artichoke dip (excellent!), chicken wings, street tacos, club burgers (ok), salted caramel dessert in a jar (really good), donut holes, numerous glasses of iced tea....the only disappointment was the key lime dessert in a jar - the only thing that tasted like lime was the slice of lime on top & the 'crust' was like dry breadcrumbs. Our waitress was good, service got a bit scant as the place filled up but we expected that. The show was great - Leanne Morgan! This was keyed to a smaller, more intimate audience, so we were all in the first section We were very impressed with downtown Oxnard - it was clean, well-lit, and had lots of shops/eateries to chose from. The good: it's a clean and comfortable venue. The staff are very nice and warm. The wait staff did their best with a large crowd. The bad: the food. My cesar salad with "blackened" shrimp was watery lettuce with watery dressing and tiny kind of undercooked shrimp. My neighbor at the club said her Chinese chicken salad was also underdressed and not tasty. The fried pickles and Buffalo cauliflower were OK. We went to see Josh Johnson (a wonderful comic & friendly young man) and he took time to speak with us prior to the show. The drinks were overpriced, and the food was terrible: My guest had a fried chicken sandwich, which was ok: I had 3 carne asada tacos which were totally tasteless & barely filling due to lack of meat. Went to the comedy show with about 7 other friends , we got there at 8:15 and we got in quickly when doors opened . No wait . We were seated and the waiter took our order . It wasn't packed it was ok . The first comedian came on Wich was about 30 minutes long then another comedian came on 30 minutes again , no drinks no food was brought out to us , we waited , and waited . Finally I asked where's our order , they brought out our drinks , another 1/2 hour passed , food was still missing . Again I asked what is going on I only ordered 1 salad . He was well prepared, funny material, and seemed very natural and confident while performing his act. I went to see Chris Estrada from Hulu's series This Fool. I recommend you pick a comedian you are familiar with, as it makes the experience more enjoyable. He was fantastic - I smiled the whole time. The opening acts were okay, but everyone needs a place to practice in front of audience. As for the comedy club itself, seating was a bit awkward. The theater never completely filled up leaving many empty seats in the back. The tables in the very front of the stage are close together and do not give much wiggle room. Come with a party or be prepared to sit with strangers, elbow to elbow. I suggest to come early as they shuffle you in and tell you where to sit. You have better chances at picking your table if you're one of the first in the theater. We sat at a high top in the corner. I also recommend to eat first, somewhere else. This is in the Collection so there are plenty of restaurant spots to choose from. The food here was meh, no vegetarian options. Mostly deep fried, meat, bar food. At the end of the show, Chris Estrada came out by the entrance and took pictures and spoke with fans. Very cool on his part. Overall, I'd go again to see a familiar comedian but with a full belly. Definitely fun idea for a date night or an outing with friends. read more

Wasn't familiar with the minimum 2 items purchase per person at this venue. The male server taking our order was emphasizing that he wanted us to enjoy the night without interruption since we were wondering when is the latest we can order during the show. We were planning on ordering just two items total but we were then asked to order one more item per person. I asked if it was okay to not place an order at all, to which he sternly responded "Then I would have to ask you to leave". I'm sure the server did not meant to be disrespectful but it unfortunately came across that way. If the waiter truly wanted us to have a good time, I'm sure there was a better way to clarify the ordering policy while also ensuring that we still felt welcome. This was a fun place to go for a comedy show. I'd never been here before and wasn't sure what to expect, but the venue was super nice. We paid for a booth, so our booth was assigned before we arrived. Booths have to be purchased eith 4 tickets to the show, but it's great because we didn't have to worry about getting there early to get decent seats. The food is pretty good, which was surprising for a venue like this. The portions were smaller, but the quality was good. More expensive than something like it should be, but event venues normally charge more for their food and drink, so it was on par with other event locations. However, I was surprised by the drink prices. While they were expensive, they weren't as bad as I thought they would be. Even though the apple pie cocktail didn't taste like apple pie, the drink was delicious. They also made a good skinny margarita and the darker the berry were also our groups winners. For appetizers, the garlic bread was super cheesy and was good dipped in the marinara sauce, and the boneless wings were sauced perfectly. For meals, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was the big winner - chicken was well-breaded but tender and juicy inside. The salads were average - nothing special. As a venue, it's smaller so it makes for a more intimate show, and it seemed that no seat would be a bad seat. Audio was great, and we had no problems hearing the show. As with most comedy venues, they do not allow pictures or video inside the club. Overall, a good venue for a comedy show and would return if there was another act that I wanted to see. read more

Love this comedy location. It's a hidden gem. Levity Live Oxnard is in a clean. Newish & very cool shopping center. They book top notch comics because it's close enough to LA for the comic to drive out, do a show and go home to sleep in their own beds. So many comedians test out their material here. Food is fair and service is spotty but, entertainment & cocktails are top notch and that's really why you'd go. Nobody goes to a comedy show for fine dining. Pro tip, spring for the extra $ bring some friends and get a booth. It's so much more comfortable and you have a $200 budget for food and drinks. It's totally worth it! read more

The management here are some serious creeps. Don't dare question their 2 purchase per person minimum, Tracy the manager may get in your face during a comedy show you paid to see. Here's what happened: I ordered a single drink at the beginning of the night. My boyfriend did not purchase anything. The waitress came up to us halfway through the show and told us we needed to purchase 3 more items and I said why? We had already spent cumulatively $80 on tickets. Why should I have to spend extra money for food and drinks I don't want? I calmly asked the waitress to bring out her manager to explain the logic behind this ridiculous policy. Tracy, the manager, immediately came out with two security guards, came up to my table, pulled out the chair next to me and got right in my face, filled with rage and tried to make it seem like somehow I and my boyfriend were in the wrong for questioning this. She leaves, I get screwed into purchasing 3 more items. Throughout the entire show, she had at least one security guard standing next to our table. Mind you, neither I or my boyfriend reacted in a way that warranted this treatment. The show ends and my boyfriend and I complain once again because how is it okay for an employee to get in a customer's face for asking a question. Leana, another manager, came out and once again tried to make us feel like we had somehow reacted poorly to this treatment. We recorded the entire interaction and she eventually agreed to refund me after a long argument with my boyfriend. So, she goes to the back to refund me and five minutes later a security guard comes to tell us she'll now only refund me if we delete our videos. I said I wouldn't be doing that and remind them that not more than 5 minutes ago, I was just told I'd be refunded. Laina and what seems to be a publicist (who they definitely need) came out and said well actually we did just refund you. I mean I only have so much word space here, but what a lousy way to run a business. read more
