I came here with my family to catch Jo Koy on tour. I had seen his show previously in Ontario so I was excited to see him again. I don't go to improv clubs a lot but one of the main things I have noticed are the intimacy of it. Aside from the expensive reserved seating booths you can purchase for the evening, the seating is first come first serve. Knowing this I arrived over an hr and a half before doors opened and there was already a line. Shortly before doors opened, the staff scanned the tickets and provided wristbands to enter. The check in process was quick and seamless. Then we entered the club in a single file line and were escorted to our seats based on the number of people in our party. The staff was friendly, but they messed up orders on a couple of occasions throughout the night. They would bring someone else's order to our table and they didn't have/couldn't find the ingredients for my sister's drink, so she had to change it 3 times. They only just opened, so they couldn't be out of the drinks. The food was okay, nothing special. Compared to the improv place in Ontario, this location seemed to hold a bigger audience. My family and I drove from Sherman Oaks to watch this show as a belated mother's day gift for my mom. Would I come back? Depends on who is performing. Otherwise, I might just stick to improv places in LA. read more

This is by no means a reflection of the entertainment, which was excellent. This is strictly a review of the venue, which needs to do some work. The show was supposed to be at 9:15 with doors opening and 9. Long lines of people standing outside in 47 degree weather. We Californians aren't made for that kind of chill, and we stood outside until well after 9:30. The check in process was odd, at best. They came down the line and took or names well before we were actually given entry, and guess what? People could have easily joined in the line and gotten in without a ticket. Inside the seating process was slow and chaotic. We ordered our mandatory food and drinks and the food came a good 15 minutes before the drinks did. I don't know about most people, but I think that's a choking hazard or something. The prices were OK, and the service decent, but they really buried themselves in the customer satisfaction department by letting people stand outside and freeze for far too long. read more

Laughed so hard my face hurt. Let me start with that. In the middle of a large, busy shopping center is the unlikely but perfect venue for a comedy club. Showing top "A" list comedians. With an appealing exterior; the interior is well suited to hold a few hundred people. The staff that I came in contact with were very customer service oriented. A trained experienced staff that took care of our us as we watched the show. Can't say enough about the great service there. We ordered a few appetizers. Small plates that were easy to share. We also added a big salad plus a few drinks. Everything was delicious and came to our table in a timely manner. Overall, a fantastic night of laughing. If your a fan of comedy and see a comedian performing that you enjoy. Do not hesitate to watch a show here. It was worth the time and money spent. This place is a winner. read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 - # 42/100 I didn't really know what to expect despite seeing the pictures of food. I was thinking the VIP tables are the only ones getting the option of ordering food. It was another sold out night for Jo Koy. We bought our tickets as early as December but still missed out on his shows that are a lot closer to home. We got there 45 minutes before the show was scheduled to start and the lines were super long. There was a separate line for VIP ticket holders who got seated first. When it was our turn to go inside I noticed that the tables from the front to the middle of the room were already occupied. There's a long table with chairs situated so you'd be facing the stage. Although it was a little past the middle of the floor you could still see the performers well enough. I thought we'd be seated there. As luck would have it, since we were a smaller group the host was able to find us a table right behind another in the front row. We were so close to the stage! We had such a wonderful time here. I still was abstaining from meat so I ordered the seared ahi tuna sliders. They were good. We also ordered the dirty fries and our server was nice enough to notify the kitchen staff to put the bacon on the side so I can eat the fries. The chicken wings looked good too but of course I couldn't taste that. I got the bottomless pineapple punchline, a non alcoholic drink $12, price includes the take home souvenir glass. read more

Horrible service, from the severs to management, asked 3 different servers if they could either have our server help us or take our order. After the 3rd attempt I asked to speak to the manager for it had been almost an hour since the show started and not even our server has attended us yet. Now this wasn't just our table it was the whole row of booths/tables, after the check came I simply asked to speak to the manger about my experience and if there was a way we could make it right, instead the manager ignored me, walked away, then threaten to have security escort me out if I didn't pay a bill, instead of being professional and trying to work a compromise she had me escorted and threaten to call police if I didn't pay the bill Once again levity live and the collection show that they don't care for one's experience, but care more for making money read more

Purchased tickets to Ronny Chieng to a pretty packed show for $160. The other people at our table pleasant and wonderful people. Did NOT BUY TICKETS TO THIS SHOW. Packed like sardines already is a bit. I think they have a system in place when it comes to serving and they follow it. Not in a good way. We were the last table at the end and had ordered just drinks. Working their way down across the theater they served in order and when they got to us finally they only had the food for the people sitting with us and no drinks. The Oxnard Levity Live. Just went last night to see Bert Kreischer, the show was great but the place is horrible, way over crowded. They pack you in so tightly that it's unbearable and painful to enjoy the show. I had more leg room on cheep flights. The drinks are so water down you're going to need a life vest. The waiters get in the way of the show to the point that it makes it hard to pay attention to what's happening. There is a two item minimum that they force you to buy on top of paying $60.00 per ticket. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I will never go there again. We went to Levity Live for the first time this weekend. Parking is easy and free! Tons to do at the collection. The place is small enough, that every seat is great. My only complaint is seats are very close together. With Covid going on I wish they would only use every other table since it was not a sold-out show. They had the back section completely empty. There is also a two-item minimum per person. We got a few appetizers that ranged from about $8-12 each that were okay. I wouldn't order a full meal from here. I look forward to going to another show soon. read more

The service here seems to have gotten a little better than the years before when it was extremely slow. On a recent visit though, my drink (basic jack and coke) came back wrong a couple times. The servers were very friendly though and were doing their best. A big issue that discourages me from even coming here is when I'm sat at the same small table with a group of people I don't know. I like to go see a show alone sometimes but the last thing I want to do in seeing one is be seated cheek to cheek with a group of obnoxious drunk guys again because the venue won't let a single woman sit in an empty booth/table alone. I could see this being the only option if a show is very full or sold out, but there were plenty other empty tables and booths that stayed that way throughout the show and this has happened more than once. read more

5 stars for the service. Our waiter Rudy was great about refilling our drinks and getting my friend mayonnaise for her French fries. He also came back regularly to check on us. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious and my pizza was really good. My friends hamburger bun was soggy but otherwise the food was good. The one good thing about this venue is that it's small enough that there are no bad view seats. The unfortunate part is that the non booth seats don't face the stage and are very tightly packed which is uncomfortable. We arrived about an hour before the show, 30 min after the supposed doors open time, and ended up standing in line for 30 minutes before we were let in. After being seated for a while our server took out order. Many reviews mentioned they stopped serving free tap water. As if Oct 23 that doesn't seem to be true, which was good. However, the food and service is still terrible. Despite being there so early and ordering well before the opening acts, our food didn't arrive until halfway through the main comic's set. It interrupted the flow of the show significantly. What's worse is the food just sucked, especially for the price. We were also overcharged for dessert. Fortunately I was paying with cash, they don't show you the receipt otherwise - guess that's why. read more

First time at the Oxnard Levity and we loved this place. It is off the 101 freeway, located in an the heart of a shopping village. It is also part of a pretty restaurant with live music. So you can come early grab dinner before the show or stay after for more drinks and enjoy the live music. The venue itself is well taken care of, the service was fantastic, and Felipe Esparza was hilarious, we also loved his openers, amazing show. The only negative was the audio was not clear, was muffled which sometimes made it difficult to understand what Felipe Esparza was saying. read more

We attended last night's show. Was seated promptly, we were seated at a table where other guests were, no biggy. We ordered a drink right after them, from same waitress. They got thier drinks immediately. Almost an hour later ...the waitress asks if I got drinks, I didn't want it by then the show was ending. (Didnt want to drink it and hop in my car stinking of whiskey) She was already gathering cards for payments. She assured me "there's an hour left of show". Then I said yes bring it then. I ordered a Woodford whiskey with orange and a cherry. They bring me "a" whiskey with a lime on edge. And my friends old fashioned with nothing in it besides alot of ice. At the closing of show, she brings me a cup filled with like 8 cherries, charged me $58, didn't offer a receipt, everyone else got offered. I couldn't talk to her because the comedian was up there and the waitress was like 2 seats away leaning over everyone talking. Very poor experience, waste of money. My first comedy show and I'm glad it was here to see Jo Koy with the ladies. Was able to snag tickets before they sold out (tried before to get tickets to see Jo but I was too late on earlier attempts). The tickets to this venue weren't bad at all. At approx $40 with general admission and free parking as its located within an outdoor shopping outlet. Checking in was easy and seating for general admission was based on your arrival time. Therefore if you want decent seats with general tickets I advise you to arrive earlier. We arrived an hour before the show started, and was seated at the tables in the second row from the stage (happy about that!). If you arrive early you can order some appetizers, food, and/or drinks. You can also enjoy these items throughout the show. Some of the items we enjoyed were chicken nachos, seasoned fries, sliders with loaded fries, BlackBerry alcoholic drink, and churro bites. I do have to say I was disappointed with the seasoned fries because I didnt see or taste any kind of seasoning (unless they meant seasoning as ketchup and ranch). My favorite item of the night were the sliders on the brioche buns. Prior to Jo Koy coming out there were three comedians who came out. The most memorable one was Eric Schwartz. Then Jo Koy came out and by the end of the night my cheeks were hurting cause I laughed so much! read more

Came here with a group of friends to watch Trevor Wallace perform a comedy show and was really surprised by how big and spacious everything was despite the entire venue being packed to max capacity. The food was really whatever especially for how much you pay but the drinks were really good, especially the Spicy Cucumber as they do not skimp out on the alcohol in the drinks at all. Considering they were closed at the start of covid for over a year it would make sense to spread people out now that things have reopened. It's a big room with lots of space. Last nights show with jeff garcia was excellent. My review is only based on the service we received last night! Before the show even started we told our 23 year old waiter to bring us a bucket of beers, and 2 cranberry/vodkas, and waters! Well even though it seemed like everyone around us was getting food, drinks, and good service compared to us. Our order came as follows. Our waters came after the comedy host was done. Then the bucket of beers and mixed drinks came halfway through the second comedian. And we made it a point to tell the waiter to bring another round asap. Well he came with the bucket of beers with about 10 minutes left with jeff garcia show. Have no idea why he didnt bring us our 2nd round of cranberry and vodkas. The bill was $145.00. I have to say I love the atmosphere that levity live delivers for their audience. I feel that the food has gone downhill. But that may also be due to the large audience they have to attend to at the comedy show and at cooper blues. They have the same kitchen and I also noticed they got rid of their best burger (the black and blue). I ordered their hamburger and it was very dry and over cooked. I have been here many times throughout the years and I can agree that their food was way better a few years ago. This is not a place I would go to anymore for great anymore. But definitely for fun and entertainment. After 8 pm they have great live music, followed a a fun DJ. The best part of the show tonight where the comedians who opened up for Joy Koy. They were fresh and just very funny all around. I honestly felt the 40 dollars I paid were to see them. Then Joy Koy came out and he was very rude to the audience. Even the DJ he had with him was insulting to the audience. I have been to several comedy shows but this was different. Joy Koy called several ladies a BITCH and was not playing around. He was mad that they said stuff out loud. But there was no need to humiliate them like that and verbally agreed them. You could also tell many people were uncomfortable by this. I love and will always support Levity Live and Copper Blues, but I'm never going to pay to see Joy Koy. read more

If laughter is the best medicine, then Jason our server is the doctor--and did I mention he's handsome? Honestly, he's so good-looking and smooth that I'd probably let him take my gf! Whether you're choking on a punchline or just thirsty for a refill, he's got you covered. The only thing faster than the jokes flying around the club is this guy bringing your drink/food, with a smile that'll melt your heart (and probably your relationship). 10/10, would gladly lose my girl for another round! I'll start off by saying the comedian we saw was 5/5. This review is only of the place itself. We went this past weekend and upon arrival we scanned our tickets and were told to go ahead and take a seat and given the wave ahead to go inside. We asked if we could sit anywhere and were told YES. So the 5 of us did just that. We sat down and a few minutes later the server came up to us and asked us why we were sitting there? She said we weren't suppose to be there. We apologized and asked if she wanted us to move, but that we were told to go ahead and sit anywhere. Clearly there was a miscommunication, it happens. If she didn't need us to move (which she said she didn't) then that mishap needed to be handled privately between the front and back staff and not aired out to the customers making us feel like we did something wrong and being called out on it. The waitress seemed very annoyed, whether with us or others it was awkward all around. She gave us our menus and took our drink orders. We each got a tap water and a bar drink. The first person was brought 1 water. Then two bar drinks were brought out and we politely asked for 4 more waters. 10 minutes later one more bar drink showed up, but no waters. 25 minutes go by and several inquiries later we now had 5 waters but still waiting on the last two bar drinks. Meanwhile the people who were seated 25 minutes after us had their bar drinks, appetizers, waters and food! Several inquiries and over 50 minutes later, the last two of us finally got our to weak overly sweet drinks. By that time the show was over half-way over and I still had to order 1 more thing. So I just got a beer. It came out during the last 5 minutes and I ended up having to chug it. Would I go again? Probably. It was fun and the comedian was on point. But next time I won't be ordering bar drinks to meet the 2 item requirement. The service was painfully slow and the drinks were weak. read more

My review is for the venue and not the comedian as much. He was good, we went on 1-15-23. Wow this pace needs to get organized. It is a serving mess. I know that everywhere is understaffed but this was a free for all. We sat down in the back as we got there late. The row in front of us had been served. After waiting awhile we saw a QR code on the table so we ordered from our phones, the code was stuck to every table. We waited 30 minutes and no drinks came by. A server finally stopped by to take an order, we told her we ordered on the phone and she said oh, that is not very fast, you should have ordered from me. OK, good to know. However we continued to wait, one of us got a drink, then 10 minutes later another drink came by. Then they kept bringing food and drinks we had not ordered to our table, which we declined, so my friend, who did not get her original drink just too one of the glasses of wine they offered. At least she got a drink, just not the one she ordered. The table next to us did not get drinks, they called their waiter, they said ok we will get it. Then someone dropped off a bill to them, they still had not gotten drinks. One couple left after asking repeatedly to get help and order, they left 45 minutes in because no one got their order. The servers were all over the place. It did not appear they had stations or any sense of order. Never saw anyone one of any authority go around to help out or check on things. I felt bad for the staff, it felt more like management did not help set things up and the whole circus was a distraction from the comedy. Lastly, they set the table up outside the exit door from the stage area in a way that it made it impossible to exit unless you went single file and it got stopped by people looking at merchandise. There should be a free flowing exit path, this felt like a risky place to get stuck. I would go again if I see newer better reviews. Maybe remove the QR stickers and support staff in their stations. read more

The venue itself is really nice. I was surprised by its location in a really cool little shopping center. My friend and I drove from out of town to catch a show so didn't really know what to expect going into this. Getting the tickets to pull up on our phones was difficult and seemed like we were in a dead service zone. The free WiFi was intermittent too. The entertainment was great! However that is about where it ends for me. My friend and I decided to each order and share plates. His nachos arrived first, fairly quickly and a few minutes later got his cocktail. The nachos were cold and tasteless. I've had better nachos from 7-11, and they were actually warm. I ordered the quesadilla which was great. But did not get my cocktail or bottle of water for literally one full hour! Opted to get a better shelf liquor and paid extra to make it a double. I saw people in front of me order and get 2 separate rounds after I ordered. My friend got up at about the 40 minute point, flagged down a server who just said it wasn't her section but she'd find out. Came back after another 15 minutes saying the manager was going to come talk to me and if I still wanted my drink or a refund bc the show was almost over. I asked them to refund it and she said ok. Manager never came over. But I did finally get my drink a few minutes before the show was done, so had to practically slam my "double" vodka and leave. My drink was so watered down, club soda was flat, forgot the lime and absolutely did not taste like a double. read more

We went to see Ronny Chieng in March of this year. Had a great time! All of the comedians opening for him were entertaining too. It is a pretty big venue for a comedy club. Would definitely recommend the upgrade to the booths. As someone else mentioned the other tables are tightly packed in there, so it is not as comfortable as if you reserve a booth. The service was great, the food was fine--we did not have any expectations since it is a comedy club first and foremost. We will definitely being going back to see more performers int he future. read more

My friend and I drove in from San Luis Obispo to go to a show at Oxnard Levity Live. There happened to be a huge storm passing through and we stood in the absolute pouring rain/wind for 45 minutes (well past the time doors were supposed to open) before the club started letting us in. When people in line tried to stand near the building to get out the rain, a security guard yelled at us to line up on the sidewalk with no protection from the rain. It wasn't until my friend approached an employee at the door and told them this was a legitimate safety issue that they began letting us in. This was far beyond stupidity/poor management. It was a cruel, unusual, and unsafe way to treat patrons. read more

Super negative experience leading up to the event. Once inside everything was smooth. Food, act, and service was great, but I wasn't able to fully enjoy the show because what we experienced in line. I have been leaving voice messages and emails asking for a refund on my tickets that I never got to use due to the Pandemic. It's irritating that no one has the courtesy of returning a call or email indicating what they're going to do with tickets bought for cancelled shows. You would think they would have someone monitoring their emails and calls to make sure refunds or credits are handled. I do see they have shows booked for February, but no call or email No right! I'm conflicted leaving a bad review but something changed. The wait staff, the kitchen, the managers...what happened?! My friends and I have been long time customers but after our visit last week, we have to reconsider. We attended Jack Jr/Steven Ho last Thursday. We arrived at 7pm and immediately ordered our drinks and food. We had to ask 3 DIFFERENT times the status of our order. The drink order was wrong and plates came out one by one. We had a booth w/a $200 food& beverage credit. Is that why we weren't served until 1 hour and 20 minutes later?! I see the other reviews w/similar concerns/complaints. Obviously management has changed but it's not for the better. How will this venue meet their customers basic (paid for) needs? Should we eat elsewhere before the show? Somewhere that doesn't charge $6 for a bottle of water? We hope that they will improve SOON! read more

My husband and I recently attended to watch Comedian Learnmore Jonasi. He was GREAT! The food and drinks are okay, It was one of the staff members you have working there that needs more training how to approach guests. People are there to enjoy their evening with friends and laughter. My husband cheered on one of the jokes a bit extra along with a few others in the audience. Nothing disrespectful whatsoever. More of an encouragement and great job gesture! I mean it is a comedy show ... Seconds later this girl that was staff approached him with attitude and said NO HECKLING even moving her hands giving off a bad vibe. My husband then looks at her puzzled responding that was HECKLING?! Her response was yeah you're being obnoxious. He then told her you're being obnoxious. As she had nothing more to say and walked away. Nobody else seemed to be bothered. The issue was not that she felt the need for whatever reason to address him...It was the approach being very unprofessional and disrespectful. read more
