There was a woman behind me that told me this has been her favorite donut place in Ventura and has been coming here for 20 yrs. The cashier confirmed it been the same owner for 20 yrs. I got a maple bar and a chocolate old fashion. As other comments have said, these donuts do not have that strange oil aftertaste that some shops do. They are also sweet but not overly sweet. Maple bars will always own my heart so it was my favorite of the two but the chocolate old fashion was also really tasty. Both were soft and freshly baked tasting. They had some really large donuts and specialty ones but you can't go wrong with a basic maple bar or old fashion. Yes, the donuts are going to cost you $2.50+ per donut but just like everything going up in price, it's only expected that a small donut shop ought to do the same.
