He had a man out the next day to measure our house. Then, we waited. And waited. And waited some more. By mid-June, Don still didn't have a quote for us & kept giving us one excuse after another, via email & phone, for not having it done (I'm in a meeting & don't have time for you today. I'll have it done by 7 tonight (but didn't). My allergies are really bad today & my eyes are bothering me too much, blah, blah, blah). At one point he even scheduled to meet with us but didn't bother to tell us he was going to be off work for 3 days after we emailed him back a date & showed up to meet with non-existent Don... Finally, by the end of June he got us a partial quote, carpeting only, of around $24,000.00. We told him we'd wait for the rest of the flooring quote and never heard another word from him. At this point, (now the end of June), we were totally done with Don & Great Floors and we'd read numerous bad reviews about this place and seeing their sign saying they "Beat Abbey Carpets today", we took our business & $30,000.00 to Abbey Carpets and are very happy with the service & products Abbey Carpets provided us and can't wait to order our new counter tops from them next! Lori was instrumental in helping me either blindly replicate what I had spent so much time picking at GF or showing me other great ideas! She has a real talent with colors and flooring! Blake was super detailed when measuring our house and the installers are really nice, knowledgeable guys who did a beautiful job installing our flooring! I wouldn't recommend Great Floors to anybody but I have been recommending Abbey to everyone who comes to admire our new flooring now!

The wood floors are about 3/4's complete and look great. The crew who did the carpet strretching were outstanding working hard all day. Couldn't have asked for a better job. Carpet looks new. Demo- if you are removing old counters & backsplash, be prepared for some slight repairs & touch-ups on cabinets and / or trim. Also, they do not remove your existing faucet, garbage disposal, oven vent etc. Nothing plumbing or electrical. If you add tile on a wall where there previously was none, expect to need longer machine screws to put the outlets back. If they don't notch out the tile for the plate covers they will not be as flush. We found both of these things out the next day while trying to put the outlets back in & covers on. If using your existing sink, the sink clips may not fit with new counter. We had to remove sink & caulk under. I hope this gives some insight for others as we had no clue of the process going in.

She tried really hard to help whenever she could and was really sweet and polite. But there was just too many issues. The first install team showed up with no masks during covid. When asked to wear them for my safety, they said no, citing that they don't work according to WHO (really?). They left and I called the store. The sub was claiming to them that he has a lung condition. Doesn't match with his story to me and doesn't excuse the 2 other guys who weren't wearing them and said they didn't even have any. The second install team came the next day and what was supposed to be a 2 day job turned into 5 because they were down 1 guy and this one worked SLOW. Multiple times they scratched the new floors when moving our appliances which we paid them to do assuming they wouldn't scratch them. Passive aggressive attitude was given when asked to fix it or he just covered it up so I wouldn't see until later. In some instances he just marked the floor with a black sharpie and didn't even try to make it blend. There's a poorly cut edge under the stairs where the edge of the board is visible where the carpet on the stairs starts. Found it with my foot while vacuuming and really surprised I didn't cut myself. Multiple boards are not clicked in properly. One has a cut from one side to another that I'm being told by another of their subs is part of the texture, but no other board in the entire 900 Sq ft of lvp is that way and no other contractor that has seen it agrees. Just looks like another deep scratch being covered up. There are 2 boards with chips in them. And to top it all off, when I asked the sub to fix an entire row of boards during the job because they weren't clicked in properly, he went outside and got on the phone and started using the f word in my reference telling someone that he had to redo the whole living room because of a f'n scratch. My husband and 2 year old got to hear the whole thing from the open garage. Our fridge was dented (which the company says they've never done and wouldn't acknowledge it was their fault even though the sub told me it was, and they did absolutely nothing about it), they threw away quarter round we were supposed to reuse so we had to go buy new quarter round, and all of our baseboards were broken which they claim they said it would happen and it was in their contract that they won't fix (I was sent the contract and do not see that language). They paid for new baseboards but I still had to pay for install and painting which cost me an extra 1k for another company to do it, much better than what the crappy sub wanted to charge me in cash under the table. Staples left in the carpet and in the grass, pieces of flooring left all over my yard, they stole our broom that looked like theirs but in much better condition (which they said they returned but never got it back).... The company sent out another sub to look at the issue with boards being being clicked in wrong and the chips and crack. He didn't wear a mask except for the moment I opened the door and since the base had already been installed, he said he would have to take it all off to fix it right but other boards may be damaged in the process. Not the answer I wanted to hear so at this point, I just give up trying to fix it if that's all the company can offer me. All in all, we'll never recommend this company to anyone. Most of it has to do with the subs crappy work but I'm really bummed about how little the company seemed to care about fixing the problems (other than Dee). Really thought abbey carpet was a good name but very disappointed.
