Original review: I've been coming to Olympic Spa for more than ten years, which is why it's sad to say but I won't be returning due to my most recent experience. A month in advance, I booked what I understood to be a reflexology foot massage for Father's Day. I'd been walking over 20,000 steps a day all week, my calves were sore, and I had been looking forward to having my feet worked on for weeks. The massage lasted 85 minutes. Throughout the treatment, I kept wondering when they were going to start working on my feet. They never did. Aside from minimal contact, my feet were essentially untouched. When the massage ended, I assumed I must have misunderstood what reflexology was. After the treatment, I went to the front desk and asked whether I could book a foot massage that same day because I still wanted one. The receptionist pointed to the reflexology treatment on the menu and said that was the foot massage. I told her I had just received that treatment and no one had touched my feet. That's when she informed me that she had accidentally marked me down for a shiatsu massage instead. I don't know how that happened. I booked online a month in advance. At that point, I was extremely frustrated. I had waited a month for this appointment, paid nearly $200, and spent 85 minutes receiving a completely different treatment than the one I specifically scheduled. What made it even more frustrating was that I also had a Pure Bliss treatment later that day, one of the spa's more expensive services. That treatment already included a back massage. I had intentionally planned the day around receiving both a full-body massage and a dedicated foot massage. Instead, because of this persons error, I essentially paid for two almost identical massages while the part of my body that actually needed attention received almost none. I asked whether there was any way the spa could make the situation right. I was told management would discuss it and let me know by the end of the day. When I checked back after my final treatment, I was informed that they would give me a 20% discount. The problem is that Olympic Spa already adds a mandatory 20% gratuity to treatments. So the "discount" amounted to removing the gratuity rather than reducing the price of the service itself. I still paid full price for a treatment I never requested and never intended to book. What disappointed me most wasn't the scheduling mistake. Mistakes happen. It was the way the mistake was handled after it was discovered. I never received the treatment I booked, the issue wasn't identified until after the service was complete, and the proposed solution felt more symbolic than meaningful. Sadly, this experience also reflects a broader decline I've noticed over the years. Olympic Spa has never quite been the same since COVID. I understand the challenges businesses have faced and I'm genuinely impressed that Olympic survived when so many others didn't. But longtime customers have watched prices climb while amenities have steadily disappeared. Day passes that once cost around $20 are now closer to $60. The waxing services are gone. The nail salon is gone. The kitchen is gone. Even the pricing on the website can feel misleading, with member pricing emphasized while the actual non-member cost is significantly higher. For years I happily overlooked those changes because I loved Olympic Spa. This experience changed that though. Father's Day can already be an emotional day for many people, especially those who've lost theirs. I had planned this visit weeks in advance as a day of relaxation and self-care, and instead I left feeling frustrated, dismissed, and taken advantage of. It is a sanctuary amidst the hustle bustle of Los Angeles in Korea town and safely located across from the police station. A plus parking is free in the plaza downstairs. The moment you enter you are greeted by the friendly office manager and you meet store owner Eunice. The hospitality is felt immediately. You are issued a locker and towels with a cute pink robe. You cannot wear bathing suits or shoes, but the robe is what you wear and the spa is so clean and smells amazing inside. They have various rooms such as charcoal clay sauna, infrared sauna, steam room, Himalayan salt room, Himalayan salt bath, cold room, oxygen room, mugwort tea bath where you pour the basin of mugwort tea and drench it over your body in a seated shower section. Mugwort tes smells earthy and helps with skin issues. You can do a body scrub to exfoliate your dead skin and your skin will be amazingly soft and dewy. They use a scrubbing mitten and you can request gentler scrubbing versus a new mitt which will be more firm exfoliating scrub. The massage is 1 hour long and extremely relaxing. You can choose green tea or collagen milk for your massage. The collagen milk left my skin so dewy and soft. In the end they wrap your hair into a cute bun atop your head and wrapped in a cute pink towel. The V steam is something new I never heard of before and tried for first time. You are in a private room and sit on a cushion seat with an circular opening and beneath are herbs heated and you wear a cute cloth robe to absorb the steam over your privates hence V stream -- benefits with cramping, hormones, constipation, fertility, etc They offer a biscuit and tea while you stay in treatment x 30 minutes. If it gets too hot you lift the robe upward and it is cooler for your body. There is an area for food that opens at noon. The menu is a variety like Bimbibap or ginseng chicken soup and more. I will definitely come back to try this eating area. Every room is meticulously designed, clean and relaxing. I felt pampered here and can't wait to return. They do not allow photos otherwise you just have to visit here and experience it for yourself.

This was also the second month in a row that I was assigned to the same body scrub attendant, even though I've never had her before and had always been treated by someone else in the usual wet room. I liked that the form asked questions like how talkative you would like your masseuse to be, if you have any injuries/tender spots, and preferred pressure firmness. My partner had booked us the "Escape Together" package which included a 20-minute copper bath and 60-minute couples massage in the outdoor cabana. The bath was totally relaxing and the jets turning off signaled the end of our 20-minute soak. We returned to the relaxation room where we were greeted by our masseuses Rachel and Lana who guided us to the cabana. We were prompted to choose our preferred essential oil for the aromatherapy concept. Lana provided a very relaxing massage for me and was very sweet. I would have enjoyed firmer pressure but I think it was my fault for circling "Gentle" on the form. I usually go to more budget-friendly Asian spas where their default pressure is usually quite rough. My partner said she enjoyed her massage with Rachel as well. After the massage, they brought us some iced tea and let us know that we were welcome to use the dry sauna and encouraged us to stay hydrated. They told me that I was unable to redeem the code because I was not a first-time customer. They called an owner or manager from another location who after going back-and-forth with me, said that there was no point in us arguing because I was just going to go and write a negative review. The thought of leaving a review never crossed my mind. But after he said that, I thought it was a great idea. All I really wanted was for them to honor our prior conversation from a week ago. Since it was brought to my attention that this is something I could leave a review about I will do so. This will be my last time coming to this location. It's been a good couple years. This is not to discourage anyone from booking, but rather to encourage you all to read the fine print on the Groupon. Because even if you have a verbal conversation with someone on the phone and get confirmation that your appointment is booked, there are chances that they will not honor it.
