The winds were gusty so the take off and landing gave a little extra gulp in my stomach, but I had a blast. Went up to about 2500 feet (maybe a bit more) and did a big circle. Had a blast. Since it was his first time ever in a plane, the pilot extended the time out a little and he was up there for close to an hour. He got to control the plane a few times and brought it up many times over the years. If you sign up for more lessons, the $50 goes towards the cost of the remainder of the lessons and you can get your pilot's license. Very cool.

The owner is reliable, professional and a dedicated member of the aviation community. We are lucky she picked Ellenvile to setup shop. Based at Joseph Y Resnick airport in Ellenville, the location couldn't be more perfect. Resnick Airport is easy to fly in and out of and within a reasonable drive from most anywhere around Ulster county. The airport is usually quiet and is ideal for practice laps around the pattern. The surfaces are well kept and it's easy to get to the many other nearby airports for tower and cross country practice. If you haven't flown before or are new to aviation I would encourage you to take an introductory lesson. You can even go up with family or friends on scenic rides and sight seeing around the Hudson Valley. Intro lessons make great gifts and gift certificates are available too! Kate has been my flight instructor for the last 6 months and I am close to getting my Private Pilots License. I feel that I am learning more than the bare minimum and am gaining the knowledge and confidence to be a safe, proficient, and professional pilot. When I finally received a response from them, it was curt.
