Raj is an instructor who actually wants his students to fly, unlike some schools who keep you on the ground and on simulators as long as possible to milk you for money (had a buddy who went someplace else in CT and this was a problem for him). All the planes are well kept as far as I can tell and I haven't had any problems. Hearing about other flight schools from some of my friends, Oxford seems to be the best place to learn how to fly. They also have very flexible hours and I've never really had a problem with scheduling a lesson.

Since it was his first time ever in a plane, the pilot extended the time out a little and he was up there for close to an hour. He got to control the plane a few times and brought it up many times over the years. The owner is reliable, professional and a dedicated member of the aviation community. We are lucky she picked Ellenvile to setup shop. Based at Joseph Y Resnick airport in Ellenville, the location couldn't be more perfect. Resnick Airport is easy to fly in and out of and within a reasonable drive from most anywhere around Ulster county. The airport is usually quiet and is ideal for practice laps around the pattern. The surfaces are well kept and it's easy to get to the many other nearby airports for tower and cross country practice. If you haven't flown before or are new to aviation I would encourage you to take an introductory lesson. You can even go up with family or friends on scenic rides and sight seeing around the Hudson Valley. Intro lessons make great gifts and gift certificates are available too! Kate has been my flight instructor for the last 6 months and I am close to getting my Private Pilots License. I feel that I am learning more than the bare minimum and am gaining the knowledge and confidence to be a safe, proficient, and professional pilot. When I finally received a response from them, it was curt.
