Dr. DiStefano's staff from the front to back were wonderful. I absolutely loved Dr. DiStefano! I was having tooth pain and she not only made me feel like she cared but that she was going to get my problem taken care of. The solution was a root canal in a tooth that wasn't even hurting. Over and over again, I received poor service and false information. During my first appointment, it was recommended I get impressions and a dental mouth guard to prevent my teeth from grinding. I went in for impressions early in the morning, and was told the guard would be ready in a few short weeks. I was then contacted saying "The impressions weren't strong enough; we need you to come back and get them again." I understand these things happen, so I told my job I had to miss an hour of work the next day, and got the impressions again. When I left, they told me the bill was $796.00. I asked if this was what was owed before or after insurance. They told me if I paid 50% of the bill, they would contact my insurance and follow up with me to settle the rest. Not only was I never contacted (and I'm assuming neither was my insurance provider), but I was sent multiple letters each month during the holiday season telling me I needed to pay the remaining $398.00. When I went in to ask/settle the balance, they told me I had to pay interest. Keep in mind, they never honored what they told me about my insurance covering the cost, that they would contact my insurance, or that they would follow up with me. I caution anyone from trusting Spring Dental as I did. It was worth it to me to end my services with them just a few months after starting due to their dishonesty.

If your child needs any kind of procedure done they make you pay for it up front, doesn't send pre treatment estimate to the insurance company, when almost every other children's dentist does, and they send the bill to the insurance company and a lot of the time it's not a covered service and you don't get your refund back. I am not sure what kind if provider doesn't help their patients out by verifying benefits and what is covered under the policy. I understand it is the patients responsibility to figure out what is covered and what is not covered, but it is courtesy that provider do this on the patients behalf to reduce unnecessary out if pocket costs. From now on I will only use Dr. Kerber for standard cleaning services but if any thing needs to be done beyond that I will take my children else where, that will actually submit a pre treatment estimate to the insurance company and I won't have to pay thousands of dollars out if my pocket up front and hope they documented well enough to get it covered by the insurance company.
