This is one really nice park. I used to come down here and watch the skaters and bikers do their tricks on the ramps. It's just really awesome to watch their stunts because I can never do that. Then I would walk down to the pier from the park with my camera and take pictures of couples walking hand in hand, people fishing, the Manhattan skyline and watch boats come and go. Best public skatepark in Brooklyn. (Haven't been to the Tylenol Bowl...anyone wanna get me in?) Pool section has faux tile and coping. Nice touch. Crowd is mild on weekday mornings when I go. No idea about the weekends. Also seems like a nice little park conveniently located to the waterfront and the BQE. read more

As a child, my Irish parents took us to Owl's Head park almost every day in the summer. It was a place where they would come and meet other Irish families and as their children played in the park they would sit on the benches over looking the narrows which ironically was the same water way they took to this country. As an adult, I now own a home across the street from this park and walk my dogs in the park many times a day! It is most beautiful early in the morning, the birds, woodpeckers and many squirrels own the park at that time of day. As the hours pass the families start to fill the park with laughter and activity. Many now are also from all over the world and it is always fun to see children playing together without judgement! The park just recieved 67 new trees and many new plantings along the 68th street side. The local residents, together with the parks department care for the park to make sure it is used with care. The trees in this park are from all over the world. Some of them are over 80 years old and we have been losing some very large trees of late. This makes the planting of young trees very timely. This park was created as a walking park as it has a few different paths, one leading you to the water, one to the overlook (currently under construction) and one leading you to the back loop where the skate park and basketball courts are. Thank god for this park. I just had a baby boy and have spent every day of my maternity leave walking him around this near-empty and pristine park. There is always a place to park your blanket, and plenty of benches -- if you're lucky you will plant yourself on the hill facing the water and enjoy a beautiful breeze. read more

This park provides a nice refuge from the hectic lives we all live now. It is a slice of serenity amid the hustle & bustle of the non-stop traffic along the avenues. The walking trails are nicely kept & there are many benches to rest on when you tire of walking. read more

I would need a follow-up visit in better weather with more time. I think it could get more stars. Nice view of the NYC skyline and the Verrazano bridge. The path is also nice--right over the highway and onto a nice promenade. I also liked walking past the nice homes, the garden, and the basketball courts. There is also a playground that needs more exploring. : ) read more

I love this park- it is a great place for sledding in the winter! It has a great skate park. But my favorite part is the dog park. It's in a nice closed off area, and all the dogs get along. There are many seats to sit down and watch and enjoy your dog having a lot of fun! read more

One of the best parks in the Bay Ridge area. I came here to shoot some hoops, relax and get my mind off things. Its a great park. Its a huge park. Plenty of basketball courts, a few baseball fields, plenty of room to play football, a great area for little kids to play around. You are also very close to shore road, so walk by and get a great view of the bridge and the water. Certainly a big enough park to just walk around it. read more

This is a nice park.There is a playground,basketball courts,a skate park, and lots of open space. It's a nice place to go for a jog.It's conveniently located near Shore Road where you can ride your bike or go for a run. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite parts of Bay Ridge, and the fact that I don't get to travel there as often as I'd like is one regret I have about moving to another borough. Picturesque, calm, and surprisingly quiet, this is one of my favorite parks in Brooklyn. If you're ever in the vicinity of southwest Brooklyn, I highly recommend checking it out. read more

I really Love Owls Head Park! I think out of all the parks in brooklyn this one is amazing! It's quiet, right by the water, in a very lovely neighborhood, with such an amazing view!! Ye there might be people doing wrong things like the shooting that happened not so long ago.. but hey! that can happen anywhere!! it still wont take the image of how nice this park is!! I've being to picnics, taken the nephew to the swings, and just to take a walk and sit and watch the city skyline! I would love to have a quiet picnic at the park with my family, but does anyone know if grilling is allowed? I've seeing families doing BBQ'S but i'm not quiet sure if is permited! read more

This park is one of the jewels of Bay Ridge. It is over 25 acres of peaceful green. It is a great place to stroll or sit on a bench to read or relax. The hill overlooks New York Harbor and the other side of the hill is great for sleigh riding. read more

Gr8 trail around the park, good spot in the front of the water for picnics and we picnicked till really late and the police or whoever rolls around where no trouble and shared some food, the benches are a plus there is enough for everyone. Overcrowded and people playing baseball catch over ur head or soccer around your feet. read more

This is one of the best parks in the neighborhood. When I was a teenager we used to come to this park all the time. Go bike riding, play baseball, sleigh riding in the winter, fishing on the 69 street pier, sit on the hill overlooking OLPH, or just watch the beautiful sunsets and vistas on the west side of the park facing the narrows and Staten Island. You do get a great breeze off the water sometimes. And at other times you get the smell coming from the sewage treatment plant along the Belt Parkway. Wow, I could tell you stories about this park. It is actually called Bliss Park. Because this used to be the residence of Mr. Bliss. But the stories I am talking about are sex, drugs and rock & roll. Boy, let the good times roll. Great park for children, swings, slides, water fun, basketball, skateboarding bowl. That wasn't there when I was a teenager. But a great addition. The park house bathrooms usually close by 6 pm. Always loved this spot in Bliss park (not Owls Head) on the hill overlooking the pier. Back in the 1970's there were free concerts in Bliss, just local bands. We'd drink our Boones Farm and smoke some doobies. I would take my girl and spread a blanket for a picnic on that hill. I used to live on 73rd and 3rd in a studio apt. from 1975 till 1987. My rent in 1975 was $95 a month with gas and electric, no shit. Never knew why it was called 69st and not Bay Ridge Ave. When we go for a visit to NYC I always drag my wife to this spot in Bliss park. read more
