The park also features beautiful views of the Narrows. It's one of my favorite places to catch sunset views. Only downside is the stench that emanates from the wastewater treatment plant nearby (since 1952). FYI, for those interested, you can enter a lottery to tour the wastewater treatment plant! Owl's Head Park has a rich and interesting history. You can read more about it here: https://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/owls-head-park/history If you ever find yourself in this quiet part of Bay Ridge, it's definitely worth a visit.

Nonetheless, my daughter wanted to have some friends/family celebrate her birthday here. The park is a decent size park, where a lot of people have set-ups for birthdays. A short distance away, they have a play area for the children to do their thing. If you walk up a bit, you can get some nice anemic photos toward the water, during this part of the season, you may spot a cherry blossom tree, or two. Overall, it's a wonderful family oriented park. I'd say if you have children, a dog, a mate who enjoys walking, a couple friends who want a picnic and/or some quiet time, this park would definitely suit your needs!

Sunset Park - Creepy lady staring into the bathroom window as I was taking a piss. She was 2 feet from the window.

The neighborhood would not be Sunset Park…read morewithout the park: tt might be named something like Very South Slope, Industry City, or just Hills. Sunset Park is small when compared to larger parks in the New York City like Central Park, but it remains a local neighborhood gem to me. If you have dog living near the park is a great way to get some exercise with a your four-legged friend. Or a great place to take a walk at lunch if you work remotely. in pre-pandemic times that was a great place to go swimming too. The views are wonderful. I am moving and this is one of the things that I will miss most about the my hood. Props to the Park Dept.

Beautiful views; well, as long as you can ignore the people excessively drinking in the park... They were not a bother, but then they also did not share, JK. As usual, Yelp is missing my pictures of all the beautiful views. Ambiance - Basically come here for the views. Basketball courts, handball courts, soccer fields, outdoor pool, playgrounds, public restroom (I did not use it), recreation center, eateries... etc. Dog friendly. Wifi hot spots, I did not use it. Service - Self service. Price - Free. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1891.

Sunset Park - Many great sections of the park, where park goers roam the spacious outdoors.
