While visiting Macon we went to Overtyme. It was recommended by a local so I looking forward to it. We were greeted and searched by "Monster" their security! He advised that we could sit in the middle or to the right. We chose seats and were greeted by our sever shortly after. We were given menus and our drink order was taken. I asked for recommendations and the server recommended what I was looking at one of the Majn Events 2pc fish & 6 wings. I tried the house wings and the pangasius fish. It was hot, fresh and tasty! I would definitely go back! The seating both booths and bar stools could use some refurbishing most of them are cracked, the restrooms were clean & the staff was friendly! I knew I was taking a risk with my life & my stomach, but I wanted some hot fried catfish to-go!!! I'm getting too old too be taking these chances with restaurants... Periodt!!! The onion rings and fried pickles were overcooked in burnt grease... Next time it's the Rookery, because that's about the only good place to eat in Macon, Georgia... Loom was nice too!!! These nuggets were fried so hard that I could of thrown the whole pound of them at a robber and I would of caught manslaughter charges... Yes just that hard!!! If you can't fry fish Walmart is always hiring!!! The manager is just as egregious and that's a crying shame!!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anything with life... My husband and I were visiting his family in their hometown of Macon, GA and on our last night here we visited this business. I'll start by saying we don't party or drink very much so keep that in mind as you read. The crowd was a mixture of older (40's and up) and around my age (late 20's) which was an interesting combination to me. There was the usual club music of whatever is popular at the time which I knew nothing of and the women dancing wildly... The 3 stars is really about the food experience more than the club though, we were with a group of people who took up two booths and our waitress only came by twice, three times to bring us our food and we were looking for her when we were ready to order. After we finally put in our order, which she didn't write down, we received half of it wrong after waiting almost 30 minutes for it. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and fries, my husband got chicken wings and fries and the order that was wrong was a fish and chicken combo that got the wrong flavor wings. My sandwich was a 5 on a scale of 1 - 10 but the fries were good. My husband's wings were good and the other person's fish was good despite getting the wrong flavor wings. We also had drinks, I had the Marley which was a tricolored frozen drink that was strong but smooth and it was flavorful, I enjoyed that. Overall, if you enjoy partying this may be a 5 star place for you, if you're looking for food, stick with the wings. read more

Great place to be to catch a sporting event and enjoy good music! Never tried their food yet, but heard great things about it. The only problem is when the bar is overcrowded, it'll take quite some time to get a drink due to the customer to bartender ratio. read more

I've never had a bad experience here until my last three orders. I received the wrong flavor wings and the food was not cooked good. Fries burnt. It just wasn't the typical food I would get as pictured below (which was a good experience by the way). And it seemed like a new cook around 5pm when I was getting these specific orders so I have not been back but hopefully in the future. read more

The daiquiris here are the truth you hear me I normally babysit the hell out of a drink but no baby the daiquiris here had my mouth watering for more I went during happy hour and it was a pretty chill atmosphere the bartender and waitresses were all awesome and friendly most definitely going back before I leave I ordered mild chicken wings w/ lemon pepper sprinkles and fries the fries were awesome I love love fries so if your fries are banging you know I'm coming back the wings however were a little too salty not sure how that goes but I mean that's not a major fix I wish I could give 10 stars read more

Absolutely amazing. From walking through the door we were greeted with several smiling faces. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken shortly after. Out server was Brandy L. and she was attentive and fun. She explained the menu and made sure that we were taken care of in her absence. You can not go wrong visiting this place. The atmosphere is great all the servers are nice and friendly and the food is outstanding. Great deal of food for the price we paid. Come visit and you will not be disappointed. For those sports fans they have more than 15 televisions so you can catch every game shown. Overtyme exceeded my expectations and I will be a regular to this establishment. read more

I don't live in the middle Georgia area anymore but everytime I'm home, I always try to find a reason to come to Overtyme. I came here most recently for my cousins birthday and we had a really good time. This is the type place where everyone can come and have fun (young and old). Drinks are inexpensive and the bartenders are cool. The food is typical bar food but its good and its consistent (the housemade sauce is also really good). One thing that isn't as consistent are the waitresses. Sometimes you will have a good one and sometimes you won't (unfortunatley, the last time we came, we didnt have a good waitress), but we even with that, Overtyme is still a place that you should visit if you are in the area. Don't be put off by one reviewer's mention of being frisked - yes there is a cop with a wand out front, but so what? You get a huge bang for your buck. I came in before happy hour but happy hour seems to be a nice deal. The large screens are perfect for watching multiple sporting events. They offer live music on certain days (so I've heard). I had the wings and they're great. It would've been better if the wings had a combo deal with fries or a wings with shrimp basket! I'm new to Macon and this place was recommend to me so I decided to visit since I love football. Well my first time there was 11/29/2021 I arrived around 430pm and I parked in front I went in and there were probably about 20ppl there. Servers passed by me and never offered to help me so I sat there for 15-20mins before the bartender came to assist me. Later that evening it was like a club I was having a good time met some beautiful people and they notice how the servers were treating me crazy. I ordered a coke and the server looked at me and said ok it will be $3 and I handed it to him. It took the people that were there ask him for my drink since it had been 20 mins since I had placed my order for him to bring it to me. Not even 5mins later I hear the hostess mentioning my car over the PA. I said it was mine and I was told to move my car or pay VIP to park there. Mind you I had been there since 430 and now it's 1030pm. So I left. So now 12/6 today I decided to give them another chance and I brought a friend with me and she is 22yrs old. We get there and security tells us since she is under 25 we will have to leave by 8pm. At 815pm security comes to tell me you have another 15mins before we have to leave. Now mind you there were other people there under 25 and we got kicked out. We were not causing any trouble we were simply sitting at our table talking and laughing with my friends and they said they are targeting me. I spoke to a manager and he didn't care to listen to anything I had to say. So needless to say I will NEVER go there again and I will be reporting them to the BBB. Holy cow yelp you let me down...rarely happens..nothing like getting frisked and wanded and patted down on a tuesday night i guess i was safe... Walk in and the place is not dirty but not clean. Try to find a seat where I'll be served and sit down.. nice tvs a few games on.. waiter comes over and i ask for a beer menu and he says they don't have one but they have everything.. i ask for a IPA and get the deer in the headlight look..i ask to see the bottles and cans and he digs up a menu.. nothing remotely close so i settle on a stella.. get the dirty menu and decide on shrimp and fries. Music pretty loud for 7pm but otherwise ok.. food comes out after a kind of long wait considering the light crowd.. the shrimp im not sure what they were. They were tiny , dry and shriveled in a S shape . Fries were decent. I was in Macon the weekend of 9/12/14. I met a buddy of mine at this location to watch the UGA game. Service was very slow. The prices for the food and drinks was OK. I ordered a burger and fries, it didn't take to long to come out and it taste OK. I would have rated it higher but our server was to slow and no attentive to the needs of her customers. Girlfriend had a spur of the moment idea to try the place on our way to wendys. It looks a little run down and dead on the outside. We walked into a completely empty restaurant with very oddly shaped and sized booths.. we thought we had made a mistake and contemplated leaving. But we stuck it out and boy are we glad we did. Their house fish was amazing. Hands down the beat fish I've had. The hot wings I ordered and mild wings my girlfriend did. We're delicious however my hot wings were not hot.
