Steve maintains an easy-going atmosphere and set up a whole series of different games for us that kept things very fun and fresh. It was great for beginners but he also told us about various places he's played (including 24 hour long games with thousands of people) that made me think he would do a good job hosting experienced players too. The equipment we rented from him worked well. The area for play is a wooded area with plenty of interesting cover and terrain. He explained and observed safety procedures throughout our session and I always felt safe. We didn't play Lasertag but he's also available for Lasertag parties, which is great for kids and he can do it at your house. One thing to know before you go is that although Steve operates under the auspices of the Overlook Golf and Recreation Center, you don't actually meet him at the place where you play mini golf or drive the go carts. The paintball area is on the other side of the property, and you drive in a different way to get there. It's not hard to find, but just discuss it with him in advance so you know where to go.

Our Daughter had her Bridal Shower here last weekend. In a word...Excellent! Very impressive…read moreproperty. Especially when inviting guests. The place is immaculate. Even the bricks on the floor shine. It has a great Old American Country Club atmosphere. Excellent tableware, furniture, etc. Rebecca, our event planner, was a total professional throughout the entire planning and day of the party. She couldn't have been more accommodating. I really don't think the word "no" is part of her vocabulary. She was very sympathetic to our needs. We have two elderly parents in wheel chairs and had a lot to deal with. Rebecca and her staff were there to make our day beautiful. Everything was setup when we arrived, which was an hour early. They all pitched in to help with our personal decorations. When the party was over, two waitresses helped bring the gifts out to the car. Just a great staff all around. We had a Brunch Buffet. Cheese and fresh fruit was there for when the guests arrived. The passed hors d'oeuvres were creative and delicious. The buffet was fresh and varied from eggs and bacon to chicken and salmon. Prices were very reasonable for a place of this caliber. We are looking forward to the next event we have at The Powelton Club. We highly recommend you have your next dinner or special occasion here. Ask for Rebecca... she was great to deal with.

Past the playground is a trail up the hill which is named the Quarry Trails providing five paths, indicated by colors red, yellow, turquoise, blue, and green. The trails does a big loop expect the green, leading to the Wappingers Creek. For history geeks, the red trail approximates an old railroad line called the Poughkeepsie & Eastern Railroad going from Poughkeepsie to Millerton. I really like the trails, as it's peaceful and easy to follow. The trails are not to difficult, but beware of bugs and ticks being out and about.
