This is a public course? Lush fairways and immaculate greens, I was blown away by this place. And only $20 green fees if you walk it. Very impressive. The course is a bit hilly, but completely walkable. Numerous dog legs and some non-lethal par-5s make this a manageable outing for novices like me. The clubhouse is under construction, so there are not a lot of amenities at the moment, but if you're a die hard and need a round of pure golf, then this is your place.

Beautiful, fun course that would be a joy to play regardless of price. BUT.. the prices are incredibly low. Back tees work well for skilled golfer. Not overly difficult at all, but a fair test with enough length to necessitate driver on most holes. And many of the shorter, dog leg par 4s that don't require driver, give the brave big hitter a chance to cut the corners. I played after 48 hrs of rain, and greens were in good shape but they'll always be on the slow side because it costs a lot to make the greens fast without risking burning them out (at least in NY). It's a county course in the middle of an enormous, gorgeous park. So considering the course is technically a government-owned facility, the following is (pleasantly) shocking: The staff were all perfect gentleman who went so far above and beyond. As I was making the turn, I asked about playing a another 9 holes after I finished 18, and said I'd be happy to pay. A few minutes later, a gentleman came out on the course and said the pro shop would be closed, but as long as I return the cart by 8pm, I could walk as many holes as I wanted until it got dark... No charge. That's just one example of the quality, helpful service that wouldn't be lacking even if this were a private, $35,000 a year country club. But it's not... It's $25. And the views are JUST. SO. PRETTY. It's just a great place to play golf and soak in the summer. This is not just the best $25 you can spend on a round of golf; this is the best $25 you can spend on ANYTHING in life.

Nice place to play. Large greens great shape

Great course. Was in pretty good shape despite the weather. Due to being so cold, the pace of play was excellent.

I asked for vodka, seltzer & cranberry and he did not have cranberry. That should be a staple at a bar. He left the bar many times to replenish seltzer and he would come back with 2 cans. The hot food at the cocktail hour went empty a few times and was not replaced right away. The worst part is our dinner plates never got cleaned up. We pushed them aside to make room for cake which was never served to us. Terrible terrible service!!!!

The ceremony was outside and we had a nice cocktail hour afterwards. The food was phenomenal, with passed hors d'oeuvres, mashed potato bar, and a carving station. The bartenders were very nice and accommodating. Some misses during cocktail hour included ice cold broccoli at the mashed potato bar, like they just took it out of the fridge. Some of the passed hors d'oeuvres did not have toothpicks to pick up the items. We adjourned upstairs for the reception and it was beautifully decorated. Our salads were waiting at our seats. The dinner was really good and we were happy with the food and the drinks. Unfortunately, the service was not good at all. I heard that this place shut down their golf course but are trying to open sections back up, so they've mostly been operating as an event space, which likely means they don't have permanent staff. In situations like this, the staff they have are usually doing the very bare minimum, which was noticeable. While the service staff was very nice, most didn't know what they were serving, which was a problem as some in our group had dietary restrictions. At the very least, they should be able to tell you if there's meat or seafood in whatever they're serving. The cocktail hour carving station was held up because the person manning it didn't have a knife. I visited the station three times and only found a steak knife (mixed in with butter knives) on my 3rd round. The servers also did not pass any food to the people standing on line for the bar. They were visiting people thta already were sat, eating food. It would have been nice to have a coconut shrimp while I waited for 10 minutes, for a drink. During the main reception, it took a very long time for them to clear plates and when they brought our first course, they served half of our table and then another person came out with plates and skipped our table, went to a different table, and the other half of ours had to wait until yet another person came out to finish serving. They took our silverware and we had to go to the kitchen to ask for replacements because they were never brought back to us, even when we asked the servers. I accidentally spilled a cup of water that took three of our napkins. I asked for replacement napkins and it took my husband going to the kitchen to to ask but they only had two napkins left and did not even think to offer paper napkins. By the time dessert was served, for at our table left for the evening. When they came around to give cake slices, I asked for one of each, and the server said that they didn't have enough - I pointed out that half of our table was gone so they could definitely allow me a second slice. I'm glad I asked bc the chocolate cake they originally gave me was too sweet for me but the extra vanilla slice was perfect. They left us with our cake and never gave us dessert utensils. We had to scavenge for them, from the place setting of those that left the event. The served coffee with no milk. Several other tables, including ours, had to ask for milk, and it took ridiculously long to get anything. As I said, the wedding was beautiful, the reception was fun, but that was mostly because of the the bride, groom, families, DJ and emcee. The venue, decor, food and grounds, were all great, but the service was so very bad. Hopefully once they've opened on a more regular schedule, they'll have more committed, permanent staff, that will represent the venue better.

My mom also looked at this place for my sweet 16 in 2011. We live nearby, so a pro is that it is close for us. We met Amanda, who was very nice and showed us around the place. It has a beautiful open white room, both upstairs and downstairs. the room upstairs has a beautiful 4 wall bar that is located in the corner, and is used for the open bar. Amanda did a good job answering all of our questions. There were lots of options from having a breakfast/brunch, to a buffet style dinner, or a sit down dinner. We would have went with the sit down option, and they had lots of choices regarding food: A steak, a salmon, and chicken. We did ask what kind of chicken and steak there was and she found out for us. We were also able to pick 4 options of appetizers, and would get salad and pasta, as well as the entree and a cake. I thought it was a beautiful venue with big windows and gorgeous views of the golf course. very pretty. i also like that if we decided to go with this venue, they would offer food tastings so that we know how the food is before booking. restrooms were small with 2-3 stalls, but were very clean. Kudos to Amanda for also following up to my mom's email, where they accommodated a pricing request. Unfortunately, we decided to go with another venue with more food options. However would definitely consider here for another party!
