After over 45 years my sister thought it would be great to start skating again. When we were kids, we loved skating there. No, it's not like riding a bike. We started out hanging on the wall the first night. We were really happy when we made 1 full lap on the rink. Then managed to stay out for one full song. Now, we go Friday, Saturday and Sunday. When my body is feeling well, I don't want to get off the rink. It's our happy place together. We've had our kids and grandkids come out, friends that come out, because I don't think any of them thought we would want to keep going. Now we can't wait for Friday to get here so we can start our weekend at Overlook. The wood floors are great and the rink is large. What we love the most is the people that work there and the people that come in to skate. It feels like family. The smiles, the waves and how are you? We are always amazed at the kids that make sure to say hi every time they see us. Th DJ's are great, will play a nice mix of music, of course us older girls love rock and roll. Live organ music is our favorite, it's just wonderful. We just wanted to get back into skating and now we've added a family. read more

Well, it was a "quest for a pool" that led us here ... The Hampton, our hotel's, was closed - not bc of COVID, but due to a broken light hazard! They sent is to The Residence Inn, as an alternative. That was indoors - NOOOO - we want sun! So sent us here. Nice, empathetic staff. Gorgeous huge pool and an overall awesome family Center! They have it all! read more

This park got a huge overhaul last year. They added a frisbee golf area, a kids play park, bocce ball (courts?) area, a driving range with pub (not sure if it serves alcohol, but I assume so), running paths, and I am sure I am missing other additions. This doesn't count the skatepark, roller rink, dog park, golf course, swimming pool, etc that was already there. Its kind of a WE HAVE GOT IT ALL sorta area. I like that the new library is also right there. I can stop in - check out some literature, grab a movie or two, go skate with my kids, play for a bit, and head out. Exercise the body and mind in one stop. Way to go Lancaster County. read more

Overlook Activities Center - Skating Rinks Near Me - Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Ok, Im just going to lump the whole area into overlook activities center, because technically it is. They got a golf course, a roller rink, various classes that you can take like pilates, a huge massive park, a dog park and plenty of space to expand into. The whole area goes from rt 501 to fruitville pike. If you know the area, thats a pretty big chunk of land. The dog park is a massive place, with watering holes, rocks to climb on and even a small wooded area. Unfortunately its a members only dog park, but its upkeep makes it worth it. Closer to the fruitville pike side is Barneys restaurant. The little map on the side really doesnt show how big this place is. A newer entrance is at the light at granite run. I went to the skatepark here literally for like 7 years of my life. It was super fun, at first, if anything broke, the park would fix it in no time. Good size, even room for shade in some places. No pads, no helmets, you can kinda do whatever. I like the parking lot for chillin too. Porta potty. Now they don't fix anything and it's falling apart a little. Still, it's the place to be for a skatepark around here. Well there is the new ephrata one, that ones pretty cool. But size and hangout potential is seriously lacking in comparison to overlook. The rest of the park is really cool too. Lots of easy hills, dog parks, trees, golf, something for everyone. Check it out. read more

Overlook Activities Center - Ledge at overlook skatepark - Skating Rinks Near Me - Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Great place for all type of activities. They had a 80's night roller skating. Was great to act like a kid again. This was my go to place for swimming pool and skating. As an adult, they have a great Pickleball program. Great people here run it and will be fun for all ages. read more

My son celebrated my grand daughters 7th birthday here 3/19/17 Staff were totally rude. It was Blatant that racism still exist. We were all professionals simply with dark skin. There were 7 adults Realtor, RN, LPN, Counselor, Technician , Accountant and an Electrician. Held my daughter's birthday party here (at her request) and was very impressed. The structure is well-maintained considering that my mother remembered skating there as a girl. It is a large facility that really isn't crowded for a Saturday open skate session. The party room is nicely decorated and the service is stellar. My girl and her friends had a blast skating then coming in for pizza, cake, and ice cream. Very easy to have a birthday party of the young ones here. read more

On May 7 2016 my sister had my nephews 7th birthday party at the overlook skating rink and it was a disaster because of the racist under and overtones that we felt the entire day! My brother, who has locs was told to take off his hat! It's not a hat sir it's hair! Right before 3 pm we were called to the party room for my nephew's cake and snacks. The food was late. There were no decorations, the plates , forks, and napkins were plain white dollar store variety! About twenty minutes in my sister was ready to sing happy birthday . A lady from the rink comes in and proceeds to spray some type of cleaning solution and proceeds to clean the room where we are having the celebration. She said that we were There too long and they have another party and they close at 4 pm. She said she already gave a grace period. not true. We had ten minutes left and it's rude to spray cleaning solution around food. She was very rude. I spoke to her myself and asked for the manager . She said she was , but as I questioned her further she said the lady out front was the manager . After the ' manager ' was spoken to we were told that the actual manager was not there and her name was Becky Slick and we were given a number. My sister called and spoke to Becky who said she talked to the employees and maybe they weren't used to seeing people with hair like that and there was really no resolution to why my nephew's party was ruined. My sister asked for her money back but was told she would receive only some free tickets. Who wants tickets to a place where you are treated differently and abused? We do not ! It was blatant racism we were the only African American group there and we were treated horribly. My sister paid in full for a nice party , but she only received bad treatment. We ended up having to vacate the party room and sing happy birthday to my nephew in the snack bar with everyone looking on. If we wanted that type of party we would have requested and paid for bootleg service. It's 2016 people . read more
