The store is clean and brightly lit, has a classroom in the back half for classes or for group decorating parties, and a bathroom on site. They can print out edible photo items for cakes as well. There is also a laser printing cutout and cake topper business added this last year to aid those who need specially made cake toppers. The owner Jenn is there most days and has several years of experience decorating cakes. She was even on the Food Network for a cake competition show. She brings her love of decorating and knowledge to the store and helps amateur, pro, and first time bakers and decorators all equally. The store has a bulletin board of local bakers if you need to find someone to make your special cake or cookie and staff can aid in finding the right baker for your needs. The birthday parties or group decorating fun classes are not like the decorating instructional courses you see on TV/technical college which I think some of the reviewers on here expected them to be so those people left disappointed for what they thought they were getting. The birthday parties are fun activity using fondant or a frosting bag to learn basic technique-- you aren't coming out of it a professional decorator. Individual at front/register was obviously busy on her laptop and did not ask if I was looking for anything specific the entire time I walked up and down the aisles for about 10 minutes or so. Preferred to support a local store instead of a big chain or Amazon. Will be looking for another local supply store before I decide to do so, although definitely not coming back here or recommending to anyone. It's unfortunate, service and first impressions are everything! Great spot for all your baking supplies wants and needs. I enjoy exploring the aisles and seeing what items are available to enhance my creativity in the kitchen. They have a lot of cake supplies and an area in the back that hosts different classes. My 3 stars is for my interaction with the person working. We weren't greeted upon entry and even when checking out we were never asked if we needed help or offered any kind of friendliness. read more

My daughter and I visited for a baking class. Was not impressed. I am thinking all the photos in their baking class advertising on Facebook have been taken directly from Pinterest. Red flag #1 My suggestion is have skilled decorators create their own version of the Pinterest posts. This way the people taking the courses know what they will be making and the skill level of the person teaching the course. The lady we had was I'll that night and I felt bad for her. She scooped icing from the large container with her hand ( she had on gloves) but ughhh ..... the products we used to recreate the " inspirational Pinterest photo were NOT the same. My daughter and I really thought we would be taught or use the colored buttercream on the Pinterest photos but there wasn't even a photo to look at during the class. We lived in a town that had these types of classes and they were always sold out. ALWAYS! I wondered why there was just 4 of us in the class. Now I know. Get a skilled decorator and turn make money from these classes. There's such the opportunity to make this a huge success. read more

I was really excited to visit this place, I'm just a hobby baker but I came ready to stock myself up for my new cake decorating hobby. The moment I walk in I see one employee, on her laptop, didn't even look at me to say hello. Fine. Whatever. I start browsing, and within a couple minutes of me walking around like I'm completely clueless, because I am, she walks into the back of the store and leaves me. Fine, whatever again. I keep looking, grab a couple items, then go up by the register to wait and see if she'll come back. I needed assistance with sprinkles. She never came back. I sure wasn't going to walk back there and beg for service. So I put my items back and walked out. Guess I'll be going to Amazon for my hobby needs. read more

I live in Cypress, so I had to drive 29 miles to get here... REGRETTED EVERY MILE I was driving back. Store is cleaned and organized but the staff is the WORST! Feels like they didn't wanted to help. I was very disappointed with the cookie decorating class. The store is cute and clean but there want any real instruction in the class. The cookies were over baked (almost burnt) and there wasn't any instructions about technique or how to achieve the best icing consistency. Might be ok for kids but a waste of time for an adult or anyone who really wants to learn royal icing techniques. read more

I tried calling them first to see if they had an item in stock but no one ever answered the phone. After the fact, I later saw on Facebook that their phone system was down, which was weird but whatever. So I drove down there and was disappointed in their selection of pretty much everything I was searching for. While there I spoke with a fellow baker who said it was her second time there and the first time they were unable to print edible images for her because their machine wasn't working. This was her second trip and she wasn't happy with the quality of these that they were able to print. I saw them and I'm glad I have my own machine because I won't be using theirs if mine should ever give out on me in a jam. They were not sharp and crisp but rather blurry and the ink wasn't vibrant. Maybe you'll have better luck but with bad phone service, small selection of merchandise and not an ability to produce high quality images makes me never to want to visit this place again. Love the classes my son and daughter attended. Recent renovation updated the bathroom and it is amazing.

Scheduled a cookie decorating event with 10+ friends. Upon arrival everything was prepared and ready for our session. The instructor lacked appeal and the cookies we decorated were very plain and simple. We used only two round decorating tips which was disappointing because if she had only added one additional tip to the tray, we could have added a little more variety of the decorating we did. Class was OK, but I wouldn't do it again with a different set of friends. read more
