I love the fact that my dog was in her home with her own dogs and horses. She communicated via text and pictures regularly throughout my dogs entire stay. By the end of my dogs stay, Liz had an accurate description of my dogs personality. Which only proves that she spent a lot of time with her. Liz is an excellent trainer and I would highly recommend her.

She came highly recommended from several families in the area that used her services. Our puppy attended two week board and train for basic obedience training as I was getting slow results with a puppy obedience class. Liz was great at communicating with us when Rocky was at "camp" We received pictures and texts every day. She will do at home pick up and drop off and an in home consultation. When Rocky arrived home we thoroughly reviewed all he learned and I learned how to keep up with the obedience training. I received a packet with all of the commands and clear and concise instructions. I loved the fact that my puppy was trained in her home with other dogs, horses and lots of acres to play. He was certainly well taken care and came home better behaved!

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

I thoroughly explained to them how i rescued this furry friend from a pretty messed up living situation and how I appreciate the special because I've been spending A LOT to make sure he's okay. I made my appointment and came back the next day. Just to be charged a total of $40.47 after service. I asked why and was told my dog was too old for that special. I asked if it could be honored because that's what I was told AND the only reason why I booked and she declined multiple times. Just for my dog to still be damp, loose hair and dandruff all over him and he smells like wet dog. He doesn't smell like he was just given a BATH. IM livid. DO NOT BRING YOUR FURRY FRIENDS HERE

So I strolled into this Petco in North Aurora and oh boy did they have some nice fish. Aside from…read moresome nipped fins and overcrowding of aquariums, the fish looked stellar. I was looking for some South American cichlids, and wasn't disapointed. I bought three fancy Angels , two blue rams, and three Jack Dempsy fish. Upon inspection of the fish after netting, it was noted that the operculum of one angelfish was mishapen, a classic sign of inbreeding. Two angelfish did not survive the night. ALL of the other fish are thriving. I have a 55 gal with two box filters, Aqueon and Tertra. I constantly check water samples and do regular water changes. When the sales associate questioned me about my setups, I replied I currently have 4 tanks. The fish I bought went into the 55 gal to join two mature angelfish, 3 Cory cats, and a mini pleco. I mentioned the mishapen operculum and the sales associate said the fish could be returned if it fied. Upon returning the next day, I presented the dead livestock and receipt. I wanted to replace the livestock, not a monetary refund. I was escorted to the fish tanks, and the sales associate starts giving me the third degree. "What kind of tank? Do you have a water sample? How many fish in the tank?" I answered all these questioned yesterday upon my initial purchase. The sales associate was not nice, had an attitude. I replied, "What difference does it make? I want to replace the fish I bought yesterday." The reply was "I have to know. I do not want the fish mistreated or abused." Followed by, "I do not have to sell you a fish!" My money was credited to my account. I found out the sales associate helping me in this instance was THE MANAGER! Two nice sleeves of green ink on both arms with skulls and other questionable figures. And then I remembered...about a year and a half ago I bought a fish. A hybrid retail/rainbow shark mistakenly advertised as a pure bred redtail shark. Anyway, upon the netting of the redtail, I remarked, "I hope he likes his new tank." To which the sales associate declared, "the fish is whatever it identifies as." Oh boy, here we go! Now I see the light. Heterosexual straight white men are not welcomed at this Petco. The manager told me herself as I walked out of the store. Passive aggressive does not quite sum it up. I called the customer service line on the website...offshore in the Phillipines. Needless to say, regardless of what Dee from the islands told me, no one from corporate called me. To sum it up, if you are of a type that likes alternative lifestyles, you are welcome at the Petco in North Aurora. I felt degraded by the manager, she was admonishing me in front of other customers. All because I did not agree with her initial interrogation of my fish keeping abilities. I have to add I am college degreed in biology. Ichthyology was very interesting. Loved Zoology. I do not like tyrants, wherever I run into them. And I do not like being treated shabbily. Again, alternative lifestyles welcome. Straight people welcome if you like verbal abuse. 2 stars given for quality of fish.

When we returned to our normal work schedules we would leave her home for 6-7 hours a day. She seemed to be great in her crate or in the kitchen during the day but after a few days she started to wreak havoc in the house. Breaking out of her crate, two couches, tons of poop, and chewed window sills later, we reached out to Kendra and Scott for help. She had separation anxiety and needed to be taught how to be confident in herself again. Our pup went to the two week board and train program and came out a brand new girl. She was confident. She was calm. She was no longer anxious. We can now walk her without a leash if we needed to. She comes when called. Most importantly she doesn't break out of her crate, and finds it as a safe place now. Her training saved her and saved us. Our girl loves being able to visit Kendra every now and then and we have the confidence of boarding her with someone we trust. Someone who plays with our pup. She's not just locked in a crate all day. We are forever grateful for Kendra and Scott. Every single time someone asks how we got our girl to listen to us, or comments on how well behaved she is, we always tell them about Canine Peace of Mind. Any dog we rescue from here on our will take a two week vacation with Kendra and get the training they deserve. We have their advice for life too! Dog eating the cat poop? Called Kendra. New baby coming home? Texted Kendra. Need to make a part of the yard off limits? Kendra was there to answer all of our questions. We highly recommend the training and all services available after training is completed. The training is best thing we could have done for our girl Lola and our family.

We were dealing with food & high value treat /toy aggression, leash & barrier aggressions, and their coming on call (especially when chasing rabbits were more fun situations than coming to mom & dad) was unreliable at best. Enter Kendra at Canine Peace of Mind. Kendra worked with us on the best board & train program for each of them, customizing their 'stay' schedules based on progress and behavioral shifts. We sent both our dogs to CPM from Sept 2018 - Oct 2018. Kendra knows how tough it is to leave your 'kids' for that extended period of time (because she's done it too!) and made sure to send us picture and video updates on how each of them were progressing. Seeing the quick process made the distance so worth it. Fast forward to picking our pups up on handover day and the difference was remarkable. But it was on us to take those skills & discipline home with us. A couple months into having them home (Jan of this year), we recognized we still needed help (user error!) and Kendra did a house call, free of charge, to help us in reigning in & tightening up their training & our/their behaviors. What an immense help as we saw immediate change and are continuing to build that owner/dog trust together. Here's the from / to for our pups and our family: - From never being able to walk in public on a leash for fear of lashing out against another dog (even when across the street) to walking twice a day at heeling position for 2-3 miles a day, despite what we encounter. - From not having reliable recalls in the least, to trusting our dogs (and because we have grown into much more confident dog owners, trusting ourselves) to have them off leash. We love to go get the mail, take out the trash, etc. together with our dogs. - From breakfast & dinner times being HORRIBLE experiences due to fighting, low growling, & crate checking to having peaceful feeding times. - From having no control during high energy times to having a tool & command for them to go to a dedicated 'place' in any room to calm down and give each other (and us) space. I could go on. But what I would say is if you are encountering any of the above issues, please consider Canine Peace of Mind and their board & train programs. As working professionals that knew we didn't have the time or expertise to dedicate in order to get our pups where they needed to be, we are so happy we did. It has transformed the time we get to all spend together from dread to time that we look forward to because it's happy & enjoyable (which is why we all got these guys in the first place, am I right?). They also offer day care & boarding. We have taken them up on boarding a few times as we know that they get a bit more attention than any standard boarding and they are held accountable to their training just as much there as they are at home.

A small background on my dog: Yoshi is a rescue 4 years-old, I am her 4th owner. Before Traci and Beau, Yoshi was totally unable to be in the presence of another dog. She was extremely aggressive which caused a lot of problems for me since I live in the city of Chicago. Walks with Yoshi before BTK9 were, honestly, miserable. First of all, it is nearly impossible to go on a walk where I live without seeing other dogs. When Yoshi would spot a dog, mayhem would ensue causing all sorts of problems. Now? I thoroughly enjoy taking Yoshi on walks. In fact, my dog has started to refuse some walks, something I thought I would never see in this lifetime. There has definitely been a noticeable change in quality of life with a better behaved dog. Through continuing Traci and Beau's training, at my home, Yoshi can walk within feet of other dogs and not even bat an eye. This is the same dog that took down a full-grown deer my second week having her when I had her off leash! (deer lived). But it goes to show you how far Yoshi's aggression has come and a testament to Traci and Beau's BTK9 training. I can't recommend them enough!
