However, recently, I had an amazingly positive experience receiving treatment from Dr. Stepanian at Reach Clinic. I needed 4 fillings, three of them in difficult to access locations. Dr. Stepanian did an amazing job of helping me to be comfortable with minimal pain, while working confidently and efficiently with her assistant to get the job done efficiently and with care and attention. I felt the knowledge, strength and experience in her hands as she worked on fixing my teeth. Thank you to Dr. Stepanian, her assistant, and the Reach Dental Clinic team for making my experience smooth and even pleasant! I never thought I would say that about a visit to the dentist. I cannot recommend Dr. Stepanian highly enough.

The location is very convenient…read morebecause it is right next to the broadway city hall station and close to many other bus stops. It is located inside the city square mall. The dentist and all the other staff are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable. I go there for routine cleaning, they always make sure to follow up with you if its been more than 3 or 4 months since your last clean up. They are not pushy, just gentle reminders which I appreciate. The past weekend I had a massive toothache so I contacted them on a Saturday and they got back to the same day and gave me an appointment for that Monday. When I went in for the check up, they said I needed an emergency root canal and got me in the very next day at another clinic. The MOA called around 4-5 dental centres trying to get me in, really appreciated her efforts. Best part, they direct bill to your insurance company which saves you a lot of the time! Would definitely recommend them for your dental work.

So. I was sorta upset. That my "2" hour back to back appointment for cleaning and X-ray (changed…read moredentist) was going to take "2" visits due to the fact they found it needed more cleaning than could be done in 1 hour. Now the previous dentist I had. They did text to communicate when I first signed up just before covid, but, either that employee did it on her own phone. or they stopped using the service they used to use to text me. either way. they would call me for appointments. and miss me as I was at work couldn't take the call. and when I called back it would go to voicemail. and they don't seem to email. so I got a missed call during work. and by the time I remembered about it and called back they were closed. couldn't recall if I had an appointment that weekend or not but I knew I had one in Aug...... decided I needed to find a dentist that texted emailed and actually answered their phones. so. why did I give them 5 stars when they told me it was 1 visit and now I have to come back for another hour of cleaning? the hygienist.... wouldn't budge. she told me it needed more than 1 hour cleaning. and she wasn't willing to sacrifice my teeth to accommodate my demands. she got receptionist in to talk sense in to me. and when that didn't do the trick they then got the dentist in. to talk to me. and finally I just agreed. NOT because they bully me, but because they cared enough to say NO, no we are not squishing 2 hours of much needed dental cleaning into a 1 hour slot. I am happy they cared enough to stand their ground. I really liked her cleaning pace. I didn't feel apprehensive because I could mentally follow along with where she was cleaning. she rocks! dentist was awesome too. came in. made sure I knew what the game plan is. when I come back again. and what we doing to make sure I stay on top of areas. Koodos to the guy who did my X-rays. it's not easy squishing those wings in there at just the right spot. he took his time. and it went well. I felt good I didn't feel nervous. And the receptionist team were amazing I left them figuring out billing for my two insurance there was something iffy about who to bill how much or something. Hahaha. Don't forget to bill me guys I haven't paid lol Thanks guys. See you saturday for my other cleaning session.

This was the worst dentist office I have ever visited. I came in for a cleaning this morning…read more(routine). Instead, of a cleaning, they processed me for 5m, took some x-rays and proceeded to clean half my teeth (the bottom half) before sending me on my way... They also lied and told me I needed two fillings due to a cavity and a groove in my tooth. When I got a second opinion (from my old family dentist), none of these things were found. When I inquired as to if this was normal. I was told that due to my being 15m late, I would have to schedule another appointment (since apparently cleanings take about 1.5hr at this place). My thoughts: I was late so I accept that it will cut into my appointment. However.. 1.5hr is not a reasonable expectation for a routine cleaning. I've seen 3 different dentists in the last 5 years (due to my being a traveling consultant), and the longest session I've had was 45m in San Francisco. If cleanings are 1.5hr regularly for new patients. Why was I not informed of this. All they did in the session today was scrape my bottom teeth (no fluoride or anything else). edit: they also lied and said that I needed two fillings due to a cavity and an apparent groove in one of my teeth. Obviously I went for a second opinion to my family's dentist. To my (not) surprise, my family's dentist said there was no cavity. He also showed me the x-rays that he had taken of me from last June and compared it to the ones which Brentwood Dental Group forwarded. The difference was like night and day. The x-rays from Brentwood Dental group were grainy and you 'could' argue that there was a cavity there (there was a shadow in a very murky and grey picture). My family dentist's x-rays were crisp and clear (the contrast between white and black was very crisp). He then showed me the areas which I had been told had a cavity and told me that in his opinion, it was fine. There was no pain and there wouldn't have been that much degradation since last June. There was no need to unnecessarily drill my teeth unless I really wanted to. I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this dentist group as they run the place like an apple store. Hiding under the guise of expertise to upsell you bullshit you don't need.

To really capture my experience with Dr. Charmaine Fong at Aarm Dental I need to provide a little…read morehistory. I'm from Ireland. We all know the reputation those from the British Isles have for dental hygiene; I guess it's because, at least in my experience, the dentists aren't very good. During one visit my dentist dropped out for lunch right in the middle of pulling 2 teeth, and I poured blood; another dentist pulled the wrong tooth for my sister. My twin brother also needed a filling and didn't receive enough anaesthetic and felt the drill boring into his tooth. The point is, I've been traumatized, and I think justifiably so ! Fast forward eighteen years. Yes, eighteen. I'm not proud of that, but what with bad experiences, and the fact that I travelled for years, I haven't been to a dentist in all that time. I finally booked an appointment after seeing favourable reviews for Aarm dental on Hornby as I felt pain in my teeth. I realised Aarm dental was different from that very first call. Jenna, the receptionist, truly listed to me - and even suggested I don't book my first visit on my birthday (which I was going to do) ! When I arrived for my appointment, Dr. Charmaine Fong listened to my concerns regarding dentists, then set about easing them. We spent about an hour or so going over dental history, taking X-rays, pointing out problem areas, etc. She made me feel comfortable, and that she really cared about me as a person and not just a customer. I told her I had a thing about pain, and that I was very nervous. She assured me that I was in good hands. It turned out the "pain" I was feeling was that I needed 6 fillings. We decided that 6 at once would be too much so we booked a second appointment, and started on the first 3. First she froze my gums with a pink mixture that tasted of bubblegum. After waiting about 10 minutes for it to take effect, she gave me a local anaesthetic with a needle. I was really worried about that ! She apologised, then manoeuvred her arm in such a way so I wouldn't see the needle. I honestly didn't feel a thing ! When I did feel some pain (for a split second) in the roof of my mouth, she warned me first and apologized again, after. Again, after a pause to let the drugs get to work, she got the fillings taken care of. After finishing we scheduled for my next visit. Since that first time, I've since been perhaps 4 other times, to complete work, or a cleaning, or a check up. I am so happy I took the plunge ! I've felt guilty about not going for so long, and it was something that was hanging over me. I now have no fear at all about going to the dentist. Dr. Charmaine Fong is an exceptional dentist, and really stressed the importance of maintaining a good dental routine every day with the right tools, and frequent visits to the dentist. I have since recommended her to my friends. My twin brother was even more traumatized than I was about dentists, but left the clinic smiling. I can't believe what I'm about to say - but I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. Thank you Dr. Fong !
