This was the worst dentist office I have ever visited. I came in for a cleaning this morning…read more(routine). Instead, of a cleaning, they processed me for 5m, took some x-rays and proceeded to clean half my teeth (the bottom half) before sending me on my way... They also lied and told me I needed two fillings due to a cavity and a groove in my tooth. When I got a second opinion (from my old family dentist), none of these things were found. When I inquired as to if this was normal. I was told that due to my being 15m late, I would have to schedule another appointment (since apparently cleanings take about 1.5hr at this place). My thoughts: I was late so I accept that it will cut into my appointment. However.. 1.5hr is not a reasonable expectation for a routine cleaning. I've seen 3 different dentists in the last 5 years (due to my being a traveling consultant), and the longest session I've had was 45m in San Francisco. If cleanings are 1.5hr regularly for new patients. Why was I not informed of this. All they did in the session today was scrape my bottom teeth (no fluoride or anything else). edit: they also lied and said that I needed two fillings due to a cavity and an apparent groove in one of my teeth. Obviously I went for a second opinion to my family's dentist. To my (not) surprise, my family's dentist said there was no cavity. He also showed me the x-rays that he had taken of me from last June and compared it to the ones which Brentwood Dental Group forwarded. The difference was like night and day. The x-rays from Brentwood Dental group were grainy and you 'could' argue that there was a cavity there (there was a shadow in a very murky and grey picture). My family dentist's x-rays were crisp and clear (the contrast between white and black was very crisp). He then showed me the areas which I had been told had a cavity and told me that in his opinion, it was fine. There was no pain and there wouldn't have been that much degradation since last June. There was no need to unnecessarily drill my teeth unless I really wanted to. I would highly recommend everyone to avoid this dentist group as they run the place like an apple store. Hiding under the guise of expertise to upsell you bullshit you don't need.

One memorable experience: After I experienced some jaw pain, I came to see her to check things out. My teeth were all fine, so nothing she could do, but she suggested I go to a RMT who specializes in intra-oral massage. I had NEVER heard of this before, but I went to the specific RMT she mentioned and it was life changing. Seriously. After just one session, my jaw pain was gone. I was so relieved and grateful! If Dr Lee hasn't suggested that, I'm not sure what I would have done.

My teeth cleaning done in 45 minutes with X-rays and exam but guess what was the billing -- exam, 4 X-rays (bite one), 3.5 units for scaling and floride coat .. when I argued that it's over and illegal billing, apparently Dr Lee made the staff bill template and it's set. Everyone must bill 3.5 unit of scaling along with other procedures as a must.. is it legal? Or over billing? Shouldn't be it as work and time needed? It's about making more money

I have to say his office is absolutely fabulous. I had some cavities under my old fillings (as expected) and he redid them and I have had no problems. So. I was sorta upset. That my "2" hour back to back appointment for cleaning and X-ray (changed…read moredentist) was going to take "2" visits due to the fact they found it needed more cleaning than could be done in 1 hour. Now the previous dentist I had. They did text to communicate when I first signed up just before covid, but, either that employee did it on her own phone. or they stopped using the service they used to use to text me. either way. they would call me for appointments. and miss me as I was at work couldn't take the call. and when I called back it would go to voicemail. and they don't seem to email. so I got a missed call during work. and by the time I remembered about it and called back they were closed. couldn't recall if I had an appointment that weekend or not but I knew I had one in Aug...... decided I needed to find a dentist that texted emailed and actually answered their phones. so. why did I give them 5 stars when they told me it was 1 visit and now I have to come back for another hour of cleaning? the hygienist.... wouldn't budge. she told me it needed more than 1 hour cleaning. and she wasn't willing to sacrifice my teeth to accommodate my demands. she got receptionist in to talk sense in to me. and when that didn't do the trick they then got the dentist in. to talk to me. and finally I just agreed. NOT because they bully me, but because they cared enough to say NO, no we are not squishing 2 hours of much needed dental cleaning into a 1 hour slot. I am happy they cared enough to stand their ground. I really liked her cleaning pace. I didn't feel apprehensive because I could mentally follow along with where she was cleaning. she rocks! dentist was awesome too. came in. made sure I knew what the game plan is. when I come back again. and what we doing to make sure I stay on top of areas. Koodos to the guy who did my X-rays. it's not easy squishing those wings in there at just the right spot. he took his time. and it went well. I felt good I didn't feel nervous. And the receptionist team were amazing I left them figuring out billing for my two insurance there was something iffy about who to bill how much or something. Hahaha. Don't forget to bill me guys I haven't paid lol Thanks guys. See you saturday for my other cleaning session.

This is a Negative Review of Dr. Pahlavan,…read more Three years ago, Dr. Pahlavan replaced one of my crowns. She said it will be a zirconia crown. Later on when I had a check up, another dentist said this is only a porcelain crown, not zirconia which is much stronger. On another occasion, Dr. Pahlavan recemented a crown that came loose. Because there was too much cement placed inside the crown, the bite was very high. Dr. Pahlavan adjusted the bite on the top and bottom crowns. As a result, she made a hole in the bottom crown. Later on a cavity developed in this tooth. As a result, I now need a root canal treatment and a new crown costing more than $3,500.00 Had she check the bite before curing the cement, this may never have occurred.
