The service in this shop is phenomenal. If you are looking for a a traditional rug store with quality selection, this is it! Silk, wool, nylon blends, synthetics, they have it all Jorge and his staff are so knowledgeable- they walked my husband and I through the details of over 59 rugs (we wanted to see a wide variety). They knew the materials, the origin of each rug and the style. Would buy from them again and again. The value is also unbeatable, they have low to high cost AND rug mats for cushioning so you don't have to look elsewhere. Fantastic experience, worth every penny. read more

It breaks my heart to leave a 1-star review for a local business, but I don't want anyone else stuck with a $1,800 rug they can't use. Outrageous Rugs relocated within the same shopping center in mid-July 2025, but even a month later their phones still had not been reconnected, according to the manager. This made it difficult to reach them after the owner sold me a rug that was not the size he had promised, despite nearly two hours of discussion in the store. When I finally tracked down the manager in person, he was unhelpful and unwilling to work with me on a rug that didn't fit the room it was purchased for. The lack of customer support was especially disappointing given the owner's assurances and the high price point of their products. If you shop here, bring your own tape measure and do not rely on staff advice. Only purchase if you are absolutely certain the rug will fit, because all sales are final. read more

Outrageous Rugs - The "Rose" wool area rug that was promised to be 11x10 but was actually 11.11x8.8 - Rugs Near Me - San Diego, California

I have been a prior customer of Outrageous Rugs over the years - always great inventory and service. I had a need for an area rug and drove over to OR where I hadn't been in years, and unfortunately, the store was boarded up and moved to a little space in the shopping center. What a wasted trip - gone was the thriving OR store I used to know. Such a shame. read more

This Play says excellent customer service! We saw the Commercial about them having a large selection of rugs that were on sale. So today we decided to visit in when we walked in it was just so nice to see so many rugs at very, very beautiful and super large like museum grade grand and ornate industrial and home rugs. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a very nice salesman. I told him what I was looking for and they didn't really have it but he did show me some of the options that they did have. I just super appreciated his courtesy and kindness and very good conversation. This place is like where you can find any rug any color super large area rugs things that you can't find at a regular, you know home furnishing, nor big box store. I told him that I would spread the word about them being there in business. read more

Beautiful store. Beautiful rugs. Beautiful service. We are so happy with the entire process of selecting a new rug for our dining room area. Jorge and staff were both attentive and very knowledgeable. They helped me make the right choice, without pressure. The rug I selected had to be special ordered. It arrived a week early! I recommend putting Outrageous Rugs on your itinerary if you are looking for a unique and quality item. read more

Outrageous Rugs are fantastic! We've purchased four rugs over the years and have been so pleased with all of them. Their service is wonderful. They listen to our needs and assist us to find the perfect rug. We also found them to be very reasonable for such high quality rugs. read more

Horrible establishment and horrible customer service, I would give this place a 0 star if I could. Parked my car in the parking lot that they share with other businesses at the shopping center, I came out after shopping to find my car blocked in by their personal work car I was very confused. I walked in the store and asked why the white van was blocking my car and they said because they didn't like the way I parked. The employee was very disrespectful, rude, and could tell he was very un happy with his failing business and with himself. He then became aggressive and told me he better not see my car parked in the lot again. I was very confused after the threat and asked if he could move his car so I could leave, he became very hostile then ordered someone to move the car and made another remark as I was leaving. I would highly recommend you go to the rug store a block down the street better deals and people. I feel bad for him and his employees, very weak minded and disrespectful. Shop else where! read more

We went to Outrageous Rugs by appointment, which is a great service right now during COVID-19. They were super helpful and have a great variety of rugs from a lot of different materials and in a broad price range. Definitely something for everyone. We bought a stunning area rug, approx, 5' x 7'. Would go back again next time I need a rug. read more

Met up with the husband for lunch and decided to browse this store since it was next door to where we were eating. There were signs for 50% off so we couldn't resist. Having a big house means plenty of room to decorate and buy stuff for it! My husband loves Persian and Turkish rugs so we found 2 we liked. One for the living room and one for the dining room. The man there was very knowledgeable about the rugs. We told him the colors of our furniture and he suggested a few colors that would pop and add class to the rooms. The rugs are a little pricey, but they're Persian rugs after all. He gave us a deal for buying two rugs and we walked out of there with gigantic rugs for our house. The place maybe small but there's tons of selections and you can order some from his book if they don't have it available. I think that's what makes this place stands out...the customer service! read more

This is the best rug place place we have found. The customer service provided by Jorge was excellent, and makes all the difference. Thank you. read more

I was looking for 2 large area rugs. They allowed me to take home 2 that were the rugs I was thinking of but needed to order in different sizes -just so I'd be sure. They gave me pointers of measuring the dining room rug so that the chairs would remain on the rug when pulled out. They ordered and cut a rug for me n provided the pad as well. They delivered and installed them. The guys were the best. Kind, considerate and very professional. I'd buy again from them in a heartbeat. I have several treasured rugs from overseas and they knew them and know their stuff. Great purchase and super store. read more

My fiancé and I stopped by here after work one day to look for a rug for our condo. They had a very large selection of rugs in many different styles and sizes. Ross, the owner/manager (?) was very helpful and let us look through their selection. There were many rugs that were out of our price range but we did end up finding a rug that we liked that was within our budget. It was already on sale but we asked Ross if that was the best he could do and he brought the price down an extra $25 plus sold us a very high quality rug pad for $20 (not one of those net looking rug pads you get at Target or Wal-Mart for $40...this one is thick and cushioned.) He had the rug rolled up and put into our car and we were off! The rug is beautiful in our condo - thank you, Outrageous Rugs! read more

Jorge was a big help finding the right rug at the price point we were looking for. We had to order a special size and got exactly what we wanted. Jorge was even willing to text and send pictures of rugs while we weren't able to come in to view in person! Michael, the general manager, followed up with is on our experience and provided status of our delivery. This was our second purchase from Outrageous Rugs because of the ease of working with them and the fairness in their prices. I'm a satisfied customer! read more

I came here after having such a bad experience and bad customer service from a place down the street called sd rug co. An employee from the floor liquidation store recommended me and my mom to go here for rugs and I'm glad we listened to him. The man that helped us was so nice, he cared about what I wanted and tried to help me find what I was looking for. They have high quality and wide variety of rugs at such great prices. The variety of types goes from runners to huge pieces, unfortunately I wasn't able to find what I was looking for because I'm too picky since it's for my business space. I'm just really happy I had such great service! read more

PASS. I honestly dont get why this place has such good reviews lol. The place looks the part but as soon as you look like your thinking about leaving the place the wolves descend. He asked me what i thought so far and i said its to expensive here. I found similar rugs on offer up from the dealer for half the price of the ones here so ill probably just go with them. And thats when he told me he had saw which rug i was looking at and could knock $175 dollars off the price if that sounded good? Bottomline he should be selling them at a fair market price or a slight mark up but to be comfortable knocking $175 off the top out the gate tells me their either desperate fir sales or cooking the books. Beside the fact that there are a half dozen other rug shops along that same road, so definitely shop around because in this place the only thing "outrageous" is the prices!! read more

I used outrageous rugs for the first time, only for a Matt to place under a very expensive rug. I am moving and it has to be done in stages and knowing when this Matt would be delivered so the rug could be delivered was important. As soon as I gave my cc number...Mike's attitude totally changed. He was rude, and degrading. I had to keep calling for when this Matt would be delivered as I had the company delivering the huge rug, calling me. I even left a key under the Matt at my front door for easy access for Mike and this company. When I simply called to again inquire if they had indeed dropped the Matt inside, Mike told me that I was a nuisance and to quit calling. ????My friend followed up Tuesday morning as I was feeling to intimidated to inquire yet again, about this matt When my friend called, the Matt had been delivered the night before. I received no call to inform me of this. He basically told my friend, cut her off on the phone, " it's there, we dropped it last night and I don't want to hear her name ( my name) again" I have NEVER experienced such rude, terrible, unprofessional treatment ever...ever ..and I'm 55 years old and come from the old school of respectful exchange in any situation, whether it be in my personal or professional life. So, I have only submitted 2 yelp reviews ever. 1 was to thank and praise another company for just being reliable. This is the 2nd one. Do not think this company cares past your credit card how they treat you. They don't. Period. read more

Came in just to browse today and left with two beautiful area rugs!! The selection is abundant, the staff super helpful and not pushy and all. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would 100% recommend! read more

My husband and I bought 4 large runners for our kitchen and surrounding areas 14 years ago at Outrageous Rugs and were so happy. This past May we decided it was time to replace them as they were starting to wear out. But they lasted 14 years amazingly enough! I picked out new runners with their very helpful and professional staff and a couple of weeks later they delivered and installed them! I love working with them, and will do so again! read more

This was our third time shopping at O.R. The first time we purchased (2) round rugs. The second time we took home (4) rugs to try. We compared prices on the internet and O.R. beat them. The third time we ordered (3) more rugs. Each time we received excellent service with no pressure to buy. We received a call to inform us when our rugs arrived. The last time we dealt with Jorge who was courteous and friendly. He was there when we picked up the three rugs and he loaded the rugs and pads in the car. We highly recommend this business. read more

I love these guys. I was looking for a rug with a specific blue color. I happened on their store and George and Armando showed us dozens of rugs until we came to the right one. I needed a very large size which was a special order. They said they would deliver as I am a senior. When I got home I realized that I has not taken the floor vents into consideration and really needed a smaller rug and a runner. I call them and they were gracious in changing the order. Both came to deliver the rugs and pads. On all occasions they had me laughing...they are quite humorous. The entire project was painless and I will go back again. read more

I did a lot of looking around for a large area rug for my new place and this store had, by far, the most selection of all the stores I had looked in previously. Juan Carlos was very patient as I looked through rug after rug searching the perfect one that would match my living room furniture. He wasn't pushy or salesy at all, but rather informative and friendly. I've purchased 4 rugs from O.R. Over the past three years and each experience is better than the previous. The guys there don't pester me while shopping and have a great big selection.
