I'm glad I found this place while visiting the area. I ordered online and had the Chicken Melt. It was excellent, especially the pesto. Order was ready quickly and they have some tables inside and a couple tables outside. If I lived here, I would eat here all the time.

Cute little hole in the wall spot I never would have found without Yelp. I was reading reviews for Infinite Soups around the corner, soups and sandwiches are life. I saw a pic of a divine sandwich with some of the soups and just knew I had to hit this place up. Finally had a weekday off to get down here and we were not disappointed. Son got the chicken melt and my daughter & I shared the BLT. While waiting for our food, I saw the giant pizza squares they have only on Fridays so had to grab a pepperoni for the hubs. We headed down to enjoy our picnic lunch at the Ruston waterfront. 10/10 delicious sandwiches. We will return!

Menu, pizza squares were $4 and $4.50 and aren't pictured here.

Local, fresh made, tasty, good value This place is pretty unassuming. $4 pizza "squares" that are 6" on a side and 3" deep might be the best lunch deal one can find. I tried to find a healthier option and settled on the salad. Very flavorful with a surprising amount of lettuce for $13 and a house-made fresh green dressing that was fantastic. I went a little after 1 and some things were sold out. Pro tip: expect a bit of a wait as things are made fresh for you. I'll be going back to this place!

Here's another glowing review for outpost! If you're reading reviews, trying to decide if you should eat here, just go. Do yourself a favor and go! I had the BLT, I don't even like tomatoes, & I was blown away. The flavors went together perfectly! Super quick friendly service! Lots of seating area. 10/10

Look at all that goodness. Yum!

Great joint! Super fresh ingredients. I had the club sandwich. Warm and delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Reasonable prices. Delish! I'll definitely be back. Outpost make a great sandwich!

Pastrami and slaw

Never disappointed with these sandwiches. So fresh and the ingredients are of the highest quality to include fresh bread. The servers are kind and hard working. There's a small seating area in the winter, but looks like they will also have an outdoor bar seating in the summer.

Lemon tortellini soup from Infinite Soups next door

This place was a godsend when I was having a very serious soup/sandwich craving at work! Luckily, right near our office, I found Outpost Sandwiches and Infinite Soups! Both are located near Courthouse Square in DT Tacoma. However, infinite soups is located in a window at the outside of the building & Outpost is actually inside Courthouse square. I got a delicious 1/2 Salad & 1/2 Sandwich combo at Outpost for a fair price that was delicious! The cilantro dressing was "the cherry on top" and I believe they make it fresh in-house. It was killer amazing! I added a regular soup from Infinite Soups next door and the total meal ended being over $20! That's expensive, but it was also really delicious! It was payday, so it was doable. I'm glad I found them! I've since tried another 2 sandwiches and 3 soups! HIGHLY RECCOMMEND OUTPOST!! And soup if you need something extra!!!

I got a great cocktail... very well crafted! But after going to look at the menu when writing the review to get the precise name of it I couldn't find it. So it may not be available. It sounds like they shift out their cocktail menu from time to time so it definitely changes. The food menu is great! It's rare where they have a nachos section on the menu. Section? As in getting different ones? Yes, you can get all kinds of different nachos here which makes it a lot of fun and it's intriguing to see what kind of different spin on nachos you can get here. We split and shared the Fiesta Verde nachos which has corn, Oaxaca Cheddar sauce, cotija, green onions, sour cream, Queso Fresco and green sauce. They also are known for different kinds of corn dishes and baked potatoes. We continued to share with something off of their baked potato section and got the Dude which had a diced roasted chicken breast in a Chipotle-Lime-Honey Beef Consommé, cheese curds, cotija, shaved radish and green onions. The food was great and I really appreciated the menu being so unique. The atmosphere is cool too with all of the mirrored bubbles above the wall and front entrance. It's a really cool vibe and I recommend it.

From the outside to the inside, the place has a stylish black theme that gives it a modern and cozy atmosphere. There was even a pinball machine near the entrance, which added a fun touch to the vibe. The restaurant had both counter seating and tables with chairs, and since there were four of us, we sat comfortably at a table. Both the female and male staff members were friendly, attentive, and very efficient throughout our visit. Since I'm not a fan of alcohol, I chose a mocktail called "XXX," while others enjoyed the Wildside Punch Cocktail and other drinks. For food, we ordered the Queen Beans, The Marley, and Sweet Leaf Salad. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We finished with the tiramisu, which was absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to our meal. The atmosphere, service, and food all came together for a wonderful experience. I would definitely love to come back again!

Our waiter, Mark, was incredibly attentive -- checking in regularly, keeping drinks topped off, and making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Exactly the kind of hospitality that makes a meal memorable. We started with the Guacamole Sampler -- Traditional, Carlito's Way, and Austin Style -- served with warm housemade chips and their signature salsa. Every style had its own personality, and the flavors were spot‑on across the board. A fantastic way to kick off the meal. For my entrée, I went with the Seasonal Al Pastor Tamales, and wow... this dish is a true taste of the south. The ancho, guajillo, and achiote citrus slow‑roasted pork was rich and tender, perfectly balanced by cumin black beans, pickled pineapple, white onion, and serrano salsa. Every bite had depth, heat, and brightness. My wife ordered the Smoked Chicken Tomatillo Soup -- hominy, red bell peppers, carrots, onions, chipotle, buttermilk crema, cilantro, and blue corn tortilla strips. Served with fresh housemade sopes, it was comforting, flavorful, and beautifully layered. A perfect bowl for any season. We also shared the Navajo Fry Bread -- honestly, this should be listed under desserts. Warm, soft, slightly sweet, and absolutely delicious. The overall vibe was relaxed and inviting. It can get a bit noisy -- especially for someone like me who's hard of hearing -- but the energy is still warm and enjoyable. Cactus never disappoints. From the kitchen to the front‑of‑house, the team consistently delivers great food, great service, and a great experience. Hats off to the cooks and staff for another fantastic visit. We'll definitely be back.

From the comfortable…read moreenvironment, great-tasting food, and its STELLAR Employees, this place is a perfect place to enjoy a night out or to celebrate a birthday (which was the reason we were there tonight.) I reserved a table (for a large party of 9) conveniently on Open Table which made the process easy and effortless two days prior to our reservation. On the day of our reservation I received a call from a very friendly staff member Jace (forgive my spelling if it's incorrect) who confirmed our reservation and also asked if we had kids in our party because of the age restriction for the outside seating. I thought that was very considerate of him to do so as he was being proactive and courteous at the same time! When I checked in, I immediately was greeted by Jace who was beyond welcoming in person as he was on the phone. He guided us to our table and made us all feel welcome. We then were presented with our hardworking and endearing Server Kat who was so patient with all of us, was proactive in setting up plates for our Birthday cake (we had brought with us - as we were granted with permission by the restaurant). Throughout our experience, Kat took care of our needs, fulfilled our delicious food orders with accuracy, and the other hardworking Server Ethan also ensured our drinks were filled. Seriously, the Employees are what made our celebratory Birthday even more special!! And also, our the wonderful Manager Brandon made sure we were all taken care of and even personally said goodbye as he walked with us out the door! We only live down the street from this restaurant as my husband and I have lived in Washington for about three years.
