My wife and I found this place accidentally while on a short vacation. We stopped and inquired…read moreabout returning for dinner that evening. The host said " not a problem. Plan on around 7:30, the crowds diminish, and the sunset is beautiful." He also said reservations are fine but not necessary. Cool, see you this evening. Returning to the B&B, I decided to research the restaurant. I found the website, and searched the menu and reservations. The website said closed, and no reservations available.I thought it odd that the information was in conflict, so I called. I received confirmation that the were open, and made a reservation. After arriving that evening, we were told we needed to wait awhile because the server was busy. We waited patiently for about twenty minutes to be seated. After finally being seated, we waited again to order. The place was very busy for a Wednesday evening. After all the waiting, I started to wonder it this would be worth it. Finally, the meals came. The food was very good as was the service. After the meal, the waitress coherced us into the cheesecake for desert. She said - if we liked - she could serve us on the patio. The sun was setting, and the weather was beautiful, so we took her up on it. What began as a question marked evolved into an exclamation mark. The cheesecake with blueberry compote was Devine. Was it worth the wait? Yes, for the cheesecake alone. If you are visiting the Mt. Lassen area, this place is a must. Barring the inaccuracies of the website, the experience was wonderful. I could rate the restaurant a four, for the error, but they get a six for the cheesecake, so five it is.

Food, service and ambiance are all first class. Excellent bar and the cabins are beautiful. Our "go…read moreto" place for all special meals.

We would give zero stars if that was an option... We decided…read moreto stop for breakfast on our way to Quincy because we were here years ago and loved it. It's now called Christy's and today's experience was awful. We arrived a little after 10 and were seated out back right away and brought menus and water. Almost 30 minutes go by as we're watching the two servers serve, seat and take orders from people - everyone except us. Once our order was finally taken, we learn they're out of bacon and sausage which is an option for one of our meals (canadian bacon and chorizo were available but we don't like either so not an option for us). While that was a bummer, at least our order was taken. Another 20+ minutes go by, and there is now another table seated just near us and the woman who seated us is bringing them drinks and menus and takes their order within a few minutes of them being seated. We hear her telling them about the special which we weren't told about. As she was walking away from them, I asked her if our server was her or the man who eventually took our order and she told me "whoever is available" is our server. I'm not sure if the person in charge is aware of the poor customer service here but a couple of other tables were showing signs of frustration, too. After waiting for another 20'ish minutes and still no food, we let our servers (?) know we decided to leave and we had a picnic at the lake with stuff we brought. Very enjoyable - I highly recommend it. On our way out, I saw the server tell the kitchen we left and everyone looking surprised. A woman was looking at me so I asked if there was someone available to listen about why we're leaving and a different woman stepped forward and listened. She offered to make it right, we told her we'd already been here almost an hour with no food so it's too late for us, but we thanked her for listening and left. We don't come this way often and I don't think we'd try again now that it's a new owner. All that said, the patio is a lovely spot for a meal with a view.

I think I enjoyed the food more last time. 2021 review: The lovely people here have completely biased my review We got to the lodge around 8:30 pm and after checking in, I asked what time the restaurant remained open till. One of the servers said, oh we close at 8 pm, then looked at the clock which showed 8:30 pm and then told me, "we can still seat you, no issues!" Who does that?! Only good people, that's who!! Couldn't thank them enough as we would've had to drive God knows how far to get food! They didn't rush us after seating either. For the dinner, we ordered the trout fillet, the steak with coleslaw, cottage cheese, chicken noodle soup and baked beans as sides and a glass of Chardonnay and IPA from the tap. The food was very good. Nice and homey and delicious. The sides were perfect accompaniments to the main courses. For breakfast the next morning, we ordered the Belgian waffle and the bacon and cheese omelet with country potatoes and a latte. This was also very good, well-made delicious and very filling. The latte was excellent! The prices are not cheap and you may have limited options of vegetarian. All in all, my experience with this family and establishment is a huge positive and I'll recommend it to anyone who comes this way!

We have been wanting to stay here and enjoy their amenities plus it's close to everything! My boyfriend and I enjoyed the Farmer's Breakfast which was a fluffy omelet with spinach and onions and crispy bacon inside. It came with artisan toast and breakfast potatoes. It was delicious! The fresh spinach inside was yummy and the rosemary on the potatoes was awesome! I put fresh rosemary and sage on just about everything I cook! Its was an elevated dish with all the right Seasonings! My boyfriend had a coffee and I had a buttery glass of chardonnay. We sat in the enclosed outdoor space because I had my puppy with me. So relaxing ( next to the pool). Enjoyed breakfast by the firepit. They also have a full bar and happy hour. Let's not forget they have rooftop dining with a bar and happy hour ( i think rooftop opens at 2pm). Such a wonderful service with a very kind waitress ( Ssndra??) who brought Wlbur a water dish to keep that has their name on the bottom of the dish! Much needed hotel and restaurant in a fastly growing town!

Our server was prompt, polite, and friendly, which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with lots of natural light and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd describe it as "Chico nice" -- casual and trendy, but not fine dining or especially refined service. The food was okay to good, but nothing memorable. We ordered the avocado toast, chicken sandwich, a beer, and a sweet drink, and the total came to about $72. Everything was perfectly fine, just not the kind of food or experience that would make me want to return, especially for a birthday celebration. Overall, it's a decent spot for a casual lunch, but it didn't feel particularly special for the price.

Great burger, but the atmosphere needs help…read more I recently stopped by Bigfoot Eats for a meal and had a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the food was genuinely delicious. I ordered the jalapeño bacon jam burger, and it really hit the spot. If you're a fan of generous portions, you'll definitely be happy with the fries here, though I did find the side of potato salad to be a bit small for my liking. Unfortunately, the dining experience was significantly impacted by a major fly problem. There were flies everywhere, which made it really difficult to enjoy the meal. It's a shame, because the food itself is great, but the lack of cleanliness in the dining area was a real turn-off. I'd love to come back for the food, but I'm hoping management can get the pest issue under control soon.
