I had a very unpleasant experience with Barbara. I brought her a pair of simple flats along with…read morebeautiful decorative buckles from a pair of Miu Miu shoes. The buckles are a pale powder-pink color with stones set into the metal, and I wanted to have them professionally attached to another pair of shoes so I could give them a second life. I completely understand that not every shoe repair or alteration is possible. However, if a professional looks at a job and is not confident that it can be done safely, I believe the right thing to do is simply tell the customer before attempting it: "I'm sorry, I don't have the right tools for this," or "This is not a repair I can do." I would have completely understood and taken my shoes somewhere else. Instead, Barbara attempted to work on one of the buckles. I saw her working on and tapping it while trying to make the alteration. Ultimately, she told me that she could not do it and that it was impossible. When she handed the buckle back to me, I noticed that a couple of the decorative stones were missing. When I pointed this out, she immediately responded, "It was already like that. I didn't do it." The stones were there when I brought the buckle in. I did not see the exact moment they came out, but they were missing after the attempted work. These were decorative buckles from expensive Miu Miu shoes, which is exactly why I brought them to a shoe repair professional rather than trying to alter them myself. What made the situation even more disappointing was Barbara's attitude. She was abrupt, defensive, dismissive, and unnecessarily aggressive in the way she spoke to me. There was no reason for a simple customer interaction to feel so uncomfortable. A professional does not have to accept every job. If you don't have the appropriate tools, equipment, or experience for a particular alteration, just tell the customer before attempting it. That would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead, my alteration was not completed, my buckle came back missing stones, and the entire interaction was unpleasant. Now I still have to take the shoes and buckles to another professional in Austin to have the work done. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not bring my shoes to Barbara again.

Very simple stitch job which they completely botched. I went in to pick up the shoes and noticed the repair that looks like it was performed by a 6 month old blind monkey with no arms. They used a different thread than what is on the shoe in the area that needed to be repaired and it honestly looks like total crap. I voiced my opinion and the gentleman there said that the manager would be in the next day and that he would leave a message for him to call me. No phone call the next day so I called back the day after and got a hold of Brandon. The complete indifference in his voice was alarming for somebody in a managerial position. We had some back-and-forth regarding the poor craftsmanship and he informed me that he would speak to somebody about it and call me back. No surprise here, but I received no call back and had to follow up once again. Got a hold of Brandon with even more indifference than the first time. He stated that they attempted to repair, but it looks the same. I'll still have to pay full price for a pathetic repair. Shame on this company.
