I'll do my best to convey what an incredible experience this has been but I feel I may fall short. It's been beyond extraordinary; 1) the team, 2) the design, 3) the execution, 4) the management, 5) the customer service, 6) the follow up. It started with a couple questions which (believe it or not), not one other builder we met with asked, "What did you have in mind? Who are you looking to entertain?" Simple questions but never having had a pool, we didn't know what we wanted. What we did know was that our backyard would be challenging since our house sits on top of a major slope. In fact, many of the builders we met with (high end luxury builders at that) didn't even want to tackle the slope issue. Instead, they recommended we tear down a number of trees to get to where the ground levels before building. Pristine not only tackled the slope issue, they embraced it and built a resort that makes you feel at one with nature. As I sit in the hot tub and look out over the space they've created, I feel as I'm sitting in a tree house. It's truly breathtaking. I like that we were able to hire them to do the design, foundation, and hardscaping that we couldn't do, but we were able to reserve part of the project for ourselves to save a little money. When they did the foundation for our front steps they went down so far, to the original house foundation below the basement, to ensure our beautiful new steps and patio don't crack. They didn't hesitate to redo the stairs halfway through when after the new foundation, the starting point wasn't the previous height so to keep the original number of stairs, the stairs would be awkwardly high. They delivered for the budget they quotes us. It is beautiful.

Design- Our design excellently blends into our overall property and it really elevates our smallish yard. For our requests to revise or samples of material, Tony worked hard to ensure we had many options that would work with our vision. During certain points we just followed Tony's advice. Execution- A great design needs to be executed by the right workers and NOVA LC certainly does have amazing workers. The workers carried out the design better than the design on paper. We had a specific diagonal pattern on our patio and the workers laid out the pieces multiple times to ensure the design was right. Tony also visited the worksite daily, sometimes multiple times in a day to ensure progress. When things was rescheduled, Tony or his project manager kept us posted on when things will happen. The workers are always courteous and kept the job site pretty organized and clean; they minimized the impact on us living there. Price- NOVA LC is definitely a great value. If you are looking for the lowest price then this company is not for you. If you are looking for something that lasts a long time and stays high quality then definitely give them a call. Mark put together some really great designs for us. However, when we moved to execution of the project we were very disappointed. It seems like Mark sub-contracts most of the work (at least the stone and electrical). There is zero quality control. It took two passes to get the stonework right and it was always us inspecting the work and pushing Garden Wise to come fix it. The same issue arose with the electrical. We have gone through two years of renovations with lots of contractors and this one was the most disappointing. There was also issues with over billing where they charged for the install of sod that never happened. After Mark attempted to provide a math lesson on square feet vs linear feet, he finally "checked with his foreman" to determine that they did in fact not install 80 square feet of grass that we had been charged for. They eventually refunded us.

Shimizu Landscaping removed 3 trees and 4 stumps for me (I live in DC). I had 3 trees that had…read moregrown wild and who's root system had destroyed my back drive way. Bevan provided an accurate quote in a timely manner and was responsive in executing the work. I was really impressed with the speed and thoroughness of their work. After the concrete was broken up by another contractor the exposed root that caused the damage was revealed. It was massive, approximately 8-12" diameter. After cutting down the trees, they used a stump grinder to grind down the stumps and then manually broke up the root and removed it. This was all done it two days. One day cutting down the trees and the next grinding the stumps and removing the roots. I hope to have them back later to do some landscaping to beautify my small back yard.
