I have ordered curbside pickup twice in the past month. The first time there was a slight issue with the order, and I called and spoke with Heather (manager) and she was very apologetic and offered several suggestions to rectify the situation. I placed another pickup order last night and the order was perfect. Heather remembered me from a couple of weeks ago and personally brought the order out and apologized again. It's very obvious this place lacks management,there is zero consistency from one visit to the next.There are 4 chain steakhouses in Prattville,the only one that wasn't busy was Outback,now I know why. The food is very good and atmosphere is very nice, but the service is what sets this location apart and is the reason for my rating. I was not sure what I wanted for dinner and went to Outback primarily because the chocolate sauce they serve with their desserts is great. I was definitely happy I chose Outback as the service was phenomenal from the time I walked in the door until I left. Brian G was my server and Bella was the server assistant, and they did an outstanding job. Both were very professional, courteous, efficient and friendly. Each of Brian's tables received personal attention and timely service. Bella's friendliness and positive attitude shown through even in brief interactions. Brian and Bella both offered excellent customer service with a genuine warmth. I spoke with the manager, Heather, before I left and I understand why the level of service is so high here. Heather has an obvious passion for her work, with a sincere concern for her team members and a strong focus on customer experience. My dinner was very good as well. The sirloin, baked potato and salad were very good and I love their bread. I had the cheesecake with chocolate sauce for dessert and their chocolate sauce remains one of the best I've had. We've been fans of Outback for years and visit in any state of travel. Last 3 visits at Prattville location have been disappointing at best. Service has been slow and, on last visit, had to ask for drawn butter when ordering the very small lobster tail. Butter was cold when delivered and requests for extras were forgotten/ignored each visit . Good luck seeing server assistant after food delivery - and please don't expect your unused plates to be cleared. At least the filet was well - prepared, though a bit tougher than usual. We dropped by for a relaxing meal prior to my mom having surgery the next day. The meal was a disaster. Our waitress, Kay just couldn't get it together. We waited for over an hour for our food and it was very apparent the Kay was responsible for the delays and mixups in our order. Holly was very compassionate with my mom and not only comped our food for the evening but offered to cover our next meal after my mom recovered. She passed by many times not seeming to be doing anything before coming back to take our order. It took 45 minutes for us to receive our food. The food was delicious, but I didn't receive the number of shrimp she indicated to me when ordering. I forget the exact date but a few years back, "I hired Samantha." Samantha was the bartender at Outback & after I hired her things started to go south. It's not anything to get real upset over & Outback always makes it right but my to go orders always had something left off etc. I told them that Samantha does not work for me anymore & maybe I could call her to see if she would come back. I even offered to sit down with them & a counselor so they could hash out whatever they needed to get off their chest. Life is to short for them to keep treating me this way. My husband and I had to go to Prattville one evening and decided to make it a date night. He wanted a good steak, so we chose Outback. I ordered the prime rib, Outback style, as it was recommended by our server, Brittany H. My husband had the ribeye and neither disappointed! Cooked just right and flavorful! Brittany was awesome! My husband usually warns our servers how fast he goes through drinks. He forgot to tell her, but the warning wasn't necessary. His glass never got empty without a fresh one already waiting. The Outback in Prattville, Alabama is LOUSY! Traveling through Prattville and stopped for the night on Saturday, 4-15-23. I downloaded the app and placed a carry out order. App said I'd get a free bloomin' onion with an adult entrée order. Wife ordered the Toowoomba salmon with seasoned rice abd a garden salad. Daughter ordered Queensland chicken and shrimp pasta. I ordered a loaded potato, the seared pepper ahimsa, and since I wasn't getting a free bloomin' onion as promised, I ordered one, (I did not order an entrée). The wife's plate had a piece of grilled salmon...no vegetables or shrimp sauce. It had a styrofoam bowl of rice...bland and no seasoning that any of us could tell. Her plate also had my loaded potato...it was not ordered as a side to her meal. Wife's other plate had her garden salad. Daughter's chicken and shrimp pasta was okay. My pepper ahi was okay, the toppings for the loaded potato came in tiny cups...hardly enough for half the potato. A loaded potato means loaded. And then there's the bloomin' onion. Small and burnt, and obviously cooked in old oil...the thing the black. I took a couple bites and couldn't eat anymore...nobody else even wanted to try it. I called the restaurant and told the guy that answered the phone about my order and he says, hold on and I'll transfer you to take out. They never picked up the phone. They take advantage of take out customers by serving crap. Nearly $100, because the app auto adds 15% tip. Nobody waited on me and the food sucked, for this I pay 15% gratuity??? I had a couple leftover giftcards for Outback so we decided to give this location a try. It represents everything that is wrong with chain restaurants. Uninspired food and a hectic environment. I've had good experiences with Outback before but this was just not good. The biggest issue was my wife's food. She ordered a filet medium-well (still should be some pink) and it arrived extremely well done. Her asparagus side, which is an upcharge by the way, was completely blackened charred and inedible for her. It's not like she ordered a steak at a diner or something, this is a steakhouse. You're supposed to cook steak appropriately and you didn't. I had a burger, it was okay but nothing special. Our server was attentive, if a bit distant. It's your typical chain location. Worst food I've had from Outback. Started off when they did not have my to go order when I arrived. I walked in the take out door and it was a complete mess. There was old food a server must have been eating just sitting on the shelf. The manager approached me and asked if I had placed an order. When I told him yes, he showed me a busted up computer sitting on a chair and said that he wasn't getting online orders because the computer was broken. After I gave my order again, I had to wait another 25 min. (Place was EMPTY) I ordered a salad with honey mustard dressing. When he brought my bag, I asked if the dressing was inside and he assured me it was. I get back to my hotel and open it up, no dressing. The lettuce was just huge chunks of the core. I've ordered curbside from here a handful of times since COVID hit, and each time the wait time was always longer than advertised, and each time I always considered whether I wanted to deal with that again, but I just factored that in as best I could (I'd show up 5-10 minutes after promised time, but would still tend to have a less-than-speedy experience). This time, it went too far. Couldn't order menu items I wanted from online, so I had to call. Ordering by phone was where the good experience of this ended. The gentlemen said my food would be ready about 6:51 (see attached picture). I arrived at about 7:05, and they promptly took my card. Optimistic for a speedy experience, they returned with the card only, for my signature, so at this point I'm tipping based on not having experienced the full process. The gentlemen walks away and says he's going to check on the food. I'm a little surprised, because I'm almost 15 minutes after promised time as it is, but I'm hoping he just comes right back with the bag. Nope. Minutes drag on, my 18-month old starts screaming. I see a to-go bag sitting on the shelf. I watch an employee (male, with red hair, who I've seen do curbside before) walk outside from the to-go door towards the dumpster/his car twice. Same bag still there. More minutes drag on. Another customer arrives and goes right up to the door, then returns to their car. Another bag shows up on the shelf, and at this point we're 25 minutes after promised time, but if the bag is mine and they bring it right out, I could settle with the fact that my food is fresh. Nope, its the car next to me (woman in a maroon car). So I roll down the window and the same gentlemen who had already taken my card (wearing a red shirt), asks me "Are you here to pickup? What's the name" Something to that effect. . . I give him my name, and say that my promised time was 30 minutes ago, and I've been here for a while, and that he already took my payment. He goes in and grabs the bag that had been sitting there for at least 10 minutes. He says "I'm sorry about that, but the kitchen got pretty slammed tonight" I say that's fine, I know that happens, but that bag has been sitting there for at least 10 or 15 minutes because I was watching it. He says "Really? I'll have to talk to my co-worker about that, that's on him. I've been on the phone this whole time." so that's just excuses and passing blame - no offer to make it right. I've been a server before, and usually I give the benefit of the doubt. Food was fine, although just about room temp (although you'd have to expect that in most curbside situations) except the size of the sweet potatoes is alarmingly small these days. I will most likely NOT be going back - I have 4 kids so burning 30 extra minutes is just not an option for me. read more
