The customer service my kids and I received 4/10. The restaurant atmosphere wasn't very welcoming. Clearly the manager only showed his presence when there was a large party. My order was incorrect. Told ya i'd be back! Went here again on Tuesday July 8th 2025 with my parents for a much needed dinner. We went to the host stand, and there was no wait at that time. We were promptly seated at a booth, almost around where we sat last time! Our waitress greeted us right away, and we started with 3 waters and the blooming onion appetizer. We did take a while to decide what we wanted. I got the Steakhouse Salad cooked M with no blu cheese crumbles. My mom got a 8 oz steak MR with brocolli, and house salad. My dad got the 3 course meal with a blooming burger MR with a salad. Waitress did an excelllent job clearing our table of dishes, and refilled our waters in a timely manner. Waitress also checked on us constantly especially after the food went out. Food came out in a timely manner, both the appetizers and the entrees. We also enjoyed our food! Came to the restaurant tonight after putting our name on the list online. Checked in and were told they were on time with the online wait list. Waited 15 min past the time provided to be seated (no big deal.) ordered our drinks, guy comes with drinks and proceeds to dump an entire glass of iced water in my dad's lap. Yes it was an accident. Yes accidents happen. It's clear there is zero protocol in place when something goes sideways however. We had to leave because my dad was soaked and freezing. We have no dinner. I ordered the 6oz steak with the blooming chicken and fries through DoorDash. I had requested utensils with my order. Received my order with the steak, chicken and fries, and no utensils. Now I sit here eating the steak like a dang dog because I don't have any silverware at home and they did not supply any. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive, always anticipating our needs and making sure we were taken care of. I will start that the waitress was extremely friendly and professional. She kept our drinks full. Next, I have noticed that on a lot of restaurant receipts they show your tip amount at 18% 20% 22% but it is added after tax. I don't pay tips on tax. I pointed it out to a waitress at another restaurant and she said she never knew that. My next problem. The ad they show on tv is not what your food looks like. It is a joke. Food has gone downhill and taste not great. If the person at the next table has a $50 bill and we have a $100 bill and got the exact same service why are we tipping based on the food price. Food has gotten way to expensive to eat out to do that. I say tips should be based on the service received and restaurants that are charging a ton of money to eat should up their wages. I haven't been to an outback in years. I recall being consistently being disappointed in the drop in quality of their steaks. I was up with fam in Myrtle and we ended up here for dinner and I have to say I was impressed. Our server was really great and everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. We started with a bloomin onion and I have to say I missed this tasty yet horrible for you treat. I've always liked their coconut shrimp with the orange marmalade so I ordered a combo that included a handful of those and a sirloin steak. For sides I got loaded mashed and a side of broccoli. I have to say for the price and the quality, I definitely enjoyed my meal. Well, Tuesday night was a dinner challenge for us. We sat at the bar, like usual, just the two of us...another couple arrived shortly after us and sat next to us. We all ordered at the same time, yet, their salads and meals arrived before we even got an app. 1/2 way into their prime rib, that couple said, where is your food? Not too sure I said...then my side coconut shrimp arrived. (Shouldn't it be with my steak?). Now that other couple is getting their check...yet, no salads for us. His wife said, you should ask for manager and the bartender overheard that comment. I'm a very easy going fellow...no need for that, plus, I wanted to see how long it really would take to get our food. My steak and salad arrived soon after that...but no side chili. The game continues....the bartender stopped by asked how was the food? I mentioned the chili is missing...she asked a server to bring it out...a bit of time later it arrived. All food was good as always. Now here comes Skyler, the manager. She apologized for tonight's dinner performance. We mentioned to her we are regulars here and she recognized us. At no point did we complain about anything, things happens...anyway, Skyler comped our entire meal. She thanked us for being so patient, then presented us with gift cards plus free desert!!! Went shopping at Tanger Outlets next door and decided to pop in. The menu is typical Outback menu. I was curious about the blooming chicken so opted for the lunch portion. The chicken is dipped in the same type of coating as the blooming onion and there is the classic blooming onion sauce drizzled on top. Overall very tasty... but if full disclosure... I adore the blooming onion so I may be a little biased. Portion may look small but it's the perfect amount for a lunch that won't send you to a nap after. Service was excellent at this location. The steak and shrimp had 4 tiny overcooked shrimp, the steak was very tough and more rare than medium rare and had a very tough, dark exterior and was bland tasting to the point of needing steak sauce. And the baked potato was lukewarm. The blackened steak was sent back to be cooked due to it being rare and bloody. It was also extremely hard to cut because it was so tough. The steak and ribs was a small piece of steak about 2/3 the size of the other steaks, dry, had a dark tough crust and was also somewhat tasteless. The ribs were good but somewhat bland. The mashed potatoes were good. Overall it was a meal worth more like 20-30 dollars instead of the $100 we paid. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place is awful. read more

I always get a good meal here; the food quality is consistent and I like the wait help and bartenders, and the service is excellent, but if you want a dirty martini with olives and are serious about your martinis, you may face a challenge. They are frequently out of olive juice and sometimes even olives and will substitute vermouth for the olive juice. After well over a year going there, at least once and sometimes twice a week and usually for steak, tonight was the last straw on this martini nonsense. Stock olive juice and order enough olives for heaven's sake, which save for an eternity, and do not serve a regular at your bar with a Grey Goose martini that is not the real deal. At 75 I know a good martini, and tonight I left really pissed off; I won't be returning for a while. I keep hoping to not encounter this again, but it is an ongoing problem, and certainly easy enough for management to fix. Why put your bartenders in this position? I approached him on the way out and told him I was a former owner and restaurant manager for 40 + years and I didn't think his proprietor would approve of the way he handled things. He proceeded to argue with me and tell me he didn't appreciate me coming to him and telling him about the problem. Im flabbergasted that this is the way they do business. I went to the restroom and it was very messy and smelled like someone had diluted the cleaning products. I didn't really want to use the bathroom and I felt bad for the little girl in there too. So that kind of took my vibe down now having to sit down at the table smelling like that. When I got my order of steamed veggies, they were soaking wet and mushy. I steam my veggies at home and wouldn't let that get set at the table. Also, my salmon had a bone in it. I didn't choke on it but I just really felt that I needed an extra piece of bread at this point as one of the key reasons I wanted Outback to begin with. They only gave us one extra loaf even though I asked for one for me and one for my boyfriend. My meal should've been free but I can't get two loaves of bread?! To be honest, we usually order takeout from the one in Surfside and have never had an issue there so far. The last time we went to this Carolina Forest location, the server had a snarky attitude the entire time regardless of how pleasant and polite we continued to be with (him). I'm from SoFlo, I know when a (Gay) doesn't like you vs just having a moment. Just because we are "Christian", doesn't mean all of us hate "Gays". My cousin is a married gay and I will love her till my dying day! I have had my own encounters with the local "Holier Than Thou Christians" here too, so I get it but we weren't trying to spiritually abuse him at all. We whispered a 3 second grace, inconspicuously ... whatever ... someone hug him and let him be himself because then maybe he won't be so snarky during his shift. Absolutely love Outback so I was sooo disappointed with this location. Went here with the family, and had the worst Outback experience ever. To start, they were out of bread. Then the wings came out uncooked and pink. When we told the server, she took the wings that were still left on the plate and just put them back into the fryer instead of bringing a whole new plate of wings that were cooked correctly. The coconut shrimp were okay. I don't think any of us are our entire entrees because they were all so below average. The restaurant itself was a mess. It wasn't the typical clean environment.
