When Dr. Campbell was alive he was fantastic, he took such great care of my pets. I really loved…read morehow great he was with particularly german shepherds. After Dr. Campbell died it took a few months for a vet to take over his practice during which time my dog was due for her yearly check up and rabies vaccine so I ended up going to a different vet. I was a little annoyed by the fact the new vet never contacted old clients, introduced themselves and doesn't send Christmas cards or really anything. Not a big deal but I do receive Christmas cards from two other vets in town which is common curtsy. Ironically I actually worked at a pet store during this time. One of my customers and I got to talking and he said that he knew the new vet and would talk to her about it. 20 minutes later my customer called the store and said he went to the vets office and mentioned it to her since it was on his way home (seriously such a nice guy) and I still never got a call from the vet. I don't know if she just doesn't want to work with large dogs or what - but I won't be going there again since it's their business and if they wanted to keep me as a client they had my phone number.

Let me start by saying that the vet we saw, Dr. Monika Ronow, was actually quite lovely and was…read moregreat with my dog (hence two stars rather than one). My issues are with the clinic owners. The meds that were prescribed were over 30% more expensive than on line or at another veterinary clinic (which I discovered when I went elsewhere). When I asked for a prescription in order to save the difference I was told there would be a $25 prescription fee, albeit a one time fee. Also bloodwork had to be done annually AND there was a $35 "withdrawl fee" above and beyond the cost of the bloodwork. Dr. Ronow asked the owners to waive the prescription fee for me but they declined. On principal I decided to leave the clinic and drove to Barrie to see a vet I've taken my dog to on a couple of occasions previously when I lived up there. The bloodwork was 25% less than what I was quoted by Campbell. They also gave me the option of only having the kidney bloodwork that was required for the meds to be done which would have been 65% less. Also, as I noted before the medication was more than 30% less. I feel Campbell doesn't understand customer service and only thinks about making money. I think is foolish on their part. They lost a potential customer (ongoing revenue) and got a bad review (potential loss of revenue) and all over a $25 prescription fee.....if they had waived that fee I never would have realized how expensive they were in comparison to other clinics. Hopefully they learn something from this post.

He did not listen when explaining the issue of my pet, and kept cutting me off to suggest what he thought the reasons were. He spoke very rudely and interrupted when I was trying to explain why I didn't think that was what I was trying to explain. 2nd time this has happened, will def br changing my vet after this visit. The new Dr does a good job of explaining stuff, but he's unbelievably rigid and inflexible, straight up rude if you raise concerns about his plans, and pushes very expensive procedures and monitoring that our new (and well established vet) hinted was unnecessary. The care of our bet was compromised on several occasions because they were simply unable to be flexible (eg refusing a partial medication refill because they wanted a new lab, but the lab was closed and the per required two weeks on their meds but would be out of meds before the lab opens??). We witnessed them basically hold an elderly mans dog hostage until he could go out and cobble together payment for an unexpected bill over a few days, while simultaneously charging him kennel fees. Like let's have a heart people. I seriously considered complaining to the regulator because I found some of the personal engagement with patients so alarming. Care is sound though (though perhaps overdone) and the medications were cheaper than our new vet.

My biggest stressor during the coronavirus isolation period was ensuring Stella got enough exercise, especially as she is only 10 months old and does not walk well on a leash. This required me to be creative and it was just stressful as I juggled working from home. I was so excited when Dogtopia Lionhead re-opened and I'm once again confident that my girl is well looked after and is getting enough exercise which gives me a better behaved little girl. Everyone who works here loves dogs and will treat your dog member of the family with love and respect. It's a win-win!!!

Blue was then put in the gym with all the big dogs and loved it from the minute he went in the door. He ran around with the other dogs and on the play equipment. Blue is a retriever and loves to run after the balls they have. The person in the room was very attentive to Blue and all the other dogs. I love having the access to the cameras so I can watch Blue anytime I want. This location is smaller but I find that the employees knew everyone's name, dog and owner, as soon as they walked in the door. I find this more personable and welcoming. Highly recommend this Dogtopia.
