The Cat’s Cradle

The Cat’s Cradle

Our option for asking someone to check on our cat while we were on vacation was a zero. So we…read morestarted searching and found out that there wasn't much out there. We reached out to our vet's office and they recommended Cat's Cradle. Perfect!!!!. We and Mitzee are very pleased and comfortable with it. The place is clean, natural lighting is great and the hospitality of the owners and staff gives you the secured comfort that your cat is in good hands.

I boarded my cat here for a week while on vacation in California. This place came very highly…read morerecommended from two co-workers, and I can see why. The building itself is just so lovely, and well kept. The cat's each have their own "cat condo" which is a tall space with a fenced door that has a kitty bench in each one as well as a window ledge, each with a nice cosy blanket, and a box with a cat bed under the bench and a little litter pan on the floor. In fact when I brought my cat, she treated him to a nice cat nip mouse to help put him at ease because he got scared at being in a strange place. The spaces aren't huge but they are a thousand times better than the typical cage in a vet's office. And a cage at the vets or any other boarding place I've every seen certainl did not have a window for every cat, with their own ledge to sit upon! There are bigger ones for those that wish to board more than one cat in a single cage. They also let each cat out for a bit, one at a time to give them a chance to roam, check things out and stretch their legs. The owner was a very nice woman, who obviously works very hard keeping up the place, along with her family. Price's are not bad either, I believe it's about $18/day, I can't remember exactly how much because then tax came in, but for a little over a week it was around $150 and change. I highly recommend this place for any cat owner who wish to have no worries about their kitty when their on vacation!

Pet Zone - Dog 1 - mistreated dog & uneven grooming (knotty tail too, not shown above)

TLDR: I witnessed the male owner hit my dog in the face and then try to gaslight me about it. On…read moretop of the mistreatment, the grooming was terrible and my dogs were buzzed nearly naked. Beware. -10/10 Would not recommend. Trigger Warning: Animal mistreatment and gaslighting. Edit 1: I'm not going to go tit for tat with you, but I do want to clarify a few things because your public response and your private message do not align. First, I'm glad you let him go. That was the right decision. But if you're going to respond publicly, be transparent instead of altering the story privately afterward. In your private message, you stated that he is not your husband. If that's true, then say that clearly in your public response as well. When I arrived at your home and followed you both to the business, his exact words were: "It'll be a few minutes until my wife arrives." Those were his words, not mine. So, trying to now act as though I created that connection feels dishonest and gaslighting. You also told me to "target him directly and not your business," but he worked for your business, did he not? Employees are a reflection of a business, especially when they are handling people's pets. Accountability does not stop at "he no longer works here." You brought up matting in your private message, but your husband himself only mentioned minor matting around ONE of my dogs' necks. Does that justify all of my dogs receiving extremely short cuts without proper communication beforehand? That still does not address the actual issue, which was the maltreatment of my dog. I left my review based on my real experience, not to attack you personally. People deserve transparency when deciding who they trust with their pets. --- It has taken me a while to post this because I felt bad that the owner's wife would be dragged into this as she was amazing with my babies. After reflecting for a few weeks, I realize I have to be the voice for future dogs that are "taken care of" by her husband. I chose Pet Zone because the male owner assured me my babies were in good hands, even inviting me to stay and watch. My most anxious dog is jittery and literally scared of flies. As I was on my way back from taking one of my other dogs to the car, I heard him loudly saying, "You are getting on my nerves already!" I thought he was talking to his kids since they kept opening the door (earlier, one of my dogs actually escaped because of this and almost ran out to the street). When I peeked through the glass window, I saw he was talking to my dog. Then, to my dismay, I watched him hit my dog in the face. He didn't know I was watching as I stared in shock, processing what I had just seen. When he looked up and saw me, he suddenly started smiling at me, petting my dog, and kissing on him, changing his demeanor completely. Thankfully my dog wasn't physically hurt, but he hit him and undoubtedly added to his grooming anxiety. I waited until I was alone with his wife to tell her how disappointed I was. His wife was absolutely amazing. She loved on my dogs like her own and her behavior seemed genuine. She said she would speak to him while I went to put my dogs in the car, but when I returned, he denied everything and began to gaslight me. He then changed his story to "I just tapped him" and proceeded to demonstrate on ME how he "tapped" him so that "my dog would listen." What he demonstrated on my arm was nothing like what he did to my dog. I saw the impact move my dog. What he showed me was a lie. He claimed he does it to his own dog, as if that was okay and his wife actually verbally AGREED with me. It doesn't matter if you "tap" your own dog, you do not "tap" other people's dogs. I paid $225 for additional trauma and a botched grooming. At one point, his wife even told him that he should give me my money back. Did he? He stayed quiet. I was done with the nonsense and drove off. At home, I inspected them and realized they weren't trimmed between their toe beans, two dogs still had knots under their armpits, and there was uneven hair in multiple areas. To clarify, I asked for a short haircut because it's getting warmer out, and he took his clippers and shaved them down so close to their skin that they were practically exposed. My white-furred dog literally looked pink because there was so little hair left to cover her skin. I wanted a short cut, not for my dogs to be left vulnerable and nearly naked. This man has my cell number, as we texted beforehand, and could have reached out to apologize or offer reparation, but he hasn't. Please beware of Pet Zone. If he does this while I'm standing right there, you don't know what he's doing when you're gone. PLUS they do pet boarding here too. After seeing his temper firsthand, would you really trust your dog to be around this man for an extended period of time? No thanks. If anyone can recommend ethical groomers in the area who don't abuse their clients' dogs, please let me know. Attached are my receipts.

I can't recommend Nancy at Know Your Dog Training highly enough…read more After doing extensive research to find the right trainer, I'm so glad I found Nancy. From the beginning it was clear that she has a deep understanding of dogs and brings a calm, confident, and professional approach to everything she does. My dog Kane completed a training program with her, and I was extremely impressed with the experience and the results. Nancy takes the time to truly understand each dog and provides the kind of structure, guidance, and consistency that helps dogs thrive. Since then, Nancy has also become my trusted go-to whenever I travel. Knowing Kane is in her care gives me tremendous peace of mind. He always comes home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. What really sets Nancy apart is the level of attention and personalization she provides. This isn't a typical boarding situation -- she genuinely gets to know the dogs she works with and creates a thoughtful, structured environment for them. Nancy is trustworthy, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. I'm very grateful I found her and would recommend Know Your Dog Training without hesitation to anyone looking for a skilled trainer or a safe, reliable place for their dog while they're away.

Nancy was referred to me by another trusted dog trainer I worked with in the city, and I'm so glad…read moreshe was. Having a city dog isn't easy -- our 4-year-old Wheaten Terrier (female) has tons of energy, a stubborn streak, and some anxiety and reactivity issues around other dogs. We were looking for help with leash training and overall confidence, and Nancy was the perfect fit. From the very first interaction, Nancy was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She clearly loves what she does and cares deeply about every dog she works with. I enrolled our pup in a month-long board-and-train program while I was getting married, and Nancy made the experience completely stress-free. She stayed in constant communication, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that showed the progress and the specific behaviors being worked on -- plus advice for us as owners to reinforce at home. When our dog came back, the difference was night and day. She's calmer, more responsive, and walks beautifully on a leash with far fewer distractions. Her reactivity around other dogs has improved dramatically, and she seems much more confident overall. Even after the program ended, Nancy went above and beyond -- she included additional follow-up lessons at no cost and still checks in to see how things are going. Her board-and-train setup is amazing too: the dogs aren't kept in kennels but get to enjoy the outdoors, sunshine, and plenty of attention and enrichment. I can't recommend Know Your Dog and Nancy enough for anyone looking for dog training, board-and-train programs, or boarding with a personal touch. Nancy truly changed our dog's behavior -- and our lives -- for the better.

And they stay in the house with the family. The owner does let you know that if multiple fights break out due to your dog they will have to move the dog to another space on their property with a large kennel room type thing. They will definitely tell you if there are any incidents and are incredible about updating you by text and photo. We received almost daily updates. If you have a dog that needs to have solo time/tends to fight with other dogs/doesn't get along with others they also have a separate fenced area for them. This is in a separate little building right next to the house. They get indoor and outdoor time. This way everyone's furry family member can be safe and also get some run time in. I wasn't looking for anything fancy like those kennels with "spa times". I was looking for something affordable, safe, and fun for my dog. This seemed like a good fit and my dog had a blast. She slept for about a week and a half after I brought her home from her two week stay. They are great at managing all types of dog personalities and are transparent about the facilities. Take a tour of the space before hand. That's what I did and it worked out great.

They were so nice and unbelievably priced. Once I pulled up they came out and retrieved my babies. Since I am a crazy dog mom I even asked if I could call the next day to check on them and they said "of course". My plans got cut short so I wound up picking them up early, but they accommodated my puppy and my dog that had a little anxiety and they were perfectly fine. I will certainty be using them again. Thanks so much!!
