Venting about MILLIES POOCH PARLOR in Port Jervis NY Brought my dogs to Millies at 12:45pm. At 4:30 they still weren't done. The girl only cut Jack's body hair and left him with a big head.. Spencer was only given a bath. No cut. And when I called at 3:30pm you told me it would be 2 more hours. I said these dogs have been here long enough. Millie was nasty and wanted to charge me $90. It is usually $105 For both dogs with wash, cut, and nails. I will never go back and put my dogs through all that waiting. I threw $70 on the counter and walked out with my dogs. This is the 3rd incident like this. I once made a 9am appt and at 3:30 they still weren't done. They were there till 5:30pm. Faith has always been so good to my dogs but this time she was busy so 2 others had to take care of them. One was cutting another dogs hair while mine was in a crate. Wth. I have my credit card bill to prove what I've paid. Millie you are a liar. No one said a word to me when I dropped those dogs off that it would take that long. You over book and these dogs have to sit in crates for hours. You should be more honest about how you do business. I feel sorry for your employees. Word on the street is your not the nicest person to work for. read more

I have been a groomer for 25 years and in 8 different states and I have to say working for Millie at Millie's Pooch Parlor has hand down been the best grooming shop I have ever worked for! The care that goes into each dog is above and beyond any other shop I've worked for. Mrs. Hall's review is extremely incorrect! She wouldn't allow me to continue working on her dog she asked in a very rude way to hand him to her so I did. I treat each dog as if they were my own and with that being said I take the time needed for each dog need. I had seniors who took longer because you have to go slower to meet their needs and that wasn't understood by Mrs. Hall. I highly recommend Millie's Pooch. From start to end the staff was excellent. They were polite on the phone when I called to ask for an appointment, answering my million of questions since it was the first time my puppy was being groomed. I ended up being a few minutes late because Google sent me to the wrong place down the street but they were understanding. A few hours later, they called me to let me know my puppy was ready for pick up. The whole process was easy and pleasant. My puppy also came back looking amazing. This place is exceptional! I have never felt happier spending my money at a business before. I brought my Shar pei/ husky/ shepherd mix in for a sudsing and de-shedding session. We arrived 5 minutes early and were welcomed with warm big smiles and given a little tour of the business. The pooch parlor was immaculate and smelled so clean. I was a little nervous handing over my pup, but all that faded when I saw how well they were treating her( there may or may not have been a few kisses exchanged ). They seriously treat these dogs as if they were their own. I cannot say enough great things about DONN the groomer. That is who I scheduled the appointment with and he really went above and beyond. I think he sensed my eccentric dog mom vibes. I received multiple pictures and updates texted to my phone during her 2 hour pamper party. I loved that! ! When I returned... there she was smelling heavenly and sporting the shiniest coat. Donn took the time at the end to show me a tool he used on her and suggested I have on hand and introduced me to the sweet girl who bathed my pup. These people are awful. First, they injured my mothers pet and didn't tell her. My mother discovered the injury and took the pet to the vet, who confirmed that a groomers clippers caused the injury. Mom called the groomer, who told her it was not their fault. We left a review and in the response to the review, they talked badly about my mother and disclosed private medication information about my mothers pet, effectively disclosing that they can find those meds at my parents house putting them at risk. I looked at the reviews and the owner uses the reviews to publicly admonish and disclose personal info about anyone who complains about her, providing personal client information. I would avoid this service, no accountability and poor customer service and no privacy for clients if they dare to complain. read more

Like I said in my previous review, you disclosed publicly without our consent that my parents dog is taking medication. This was not professional, and violated their privacy and created a safety concern for my elderly parents.If a drug seeking person were to read your responses, they would be exposed to people seeking those meds who might harm them as a result of your disclosure. Also,the fact that the dog is taking meds has nothing to do with our complaint that the dog was injured with the clippers, so I'm assuming you included it to discredit them somehow? The dog didn't need any medication until and unless they are being groomed at your business. We didn't bring this up in our original review, but since you have brought this up, this is the reason why the dog, who never needed it at any groomer before and still doesn't need it anywhere else , was taking the med. Publicizing that the dog takes medication leaves my parents open to people who might be seeking those types of meds and speaks volumes about your professionalism and ability to respect their privacy. It still doesn't justify injuring the dog and then not disclosing it to my parents. This is where the issue is, more than the injury itself, it is that your communications surrounding this injury were not professional and have been potentially harmful to my elderly parents. The appropriate response would be to accept that the vet said the clippers caused an injury, which I'm sure happens by accident frequently, apologize and agree to communicate more effectively in the future. This was not what you decided to do. Your responses are barely coherent, full of !!!! points, and come across as being emotionally dysregulated. I also feel it would be instructive as you suggested, for people to read your reviews and see how you've spoken to others who have "dared" to complain on review. Reviews are your opportunity to resolve issues, especially when the courtesy phone call my parents made to you to address this outside of this forum resulted in unprofessional behavior. I hope that you reflect on your behavior and treat future clients with more respect. read more

Benji was disabled from the time we got him at 5!months old... Millie cared for him/ groomed him (Vet recommended) for 13 years... sooo sweet and caring with him. I just brought my pup in for the first time, they were professional, sweet caring & amazing. When I dropped her off two groomers were caring for pups who looked calm & well cared for, & I got to see how gentle all the groomers are. The shop was so clean and well maintained, I was quite amazed that it did not smell of wet dog even though I could see two smaller breeds being clipped & a larger one getting dryed. When I picked her up they had done a fantastic cut she smelled great & her nails were perfect she was even sporting a cute little bow in her head. She was obviously happy & well cared for. From start to finish the entire experience was wonderful! Millie was thorough with the appointment process and called to remind of the appointment the day before. Super easy to get three dogs in and out of the building and Donn even showed us around upon arrival. No cages, just "apartments" to relax in while waiting for service or Mom to return. I took Roscoe in for a nail clip, i've only had him for a few weeks and wasn't sure how he would react to the service. as he is a 140lb german shep i was concerned that he would get upset and become difficult to handle. My rescue yorkie poo is not an easy dog to groom....he gets matted and tangled but I was told by friends that Millie's Pooch Parlor does a wonderful job with grooming. They were right! A relative by marriage was in town with her Cocker Spaniel. We went into a PJ grooming salon and did not like it at all. She ended up shaving the dog down to keep her neat and comfortable. Then, her nails were getting long and her husband wanted to have a professional trim the Cocker's nails. We tried to get it done at PetsMart in Middletown, NY but they wanted a Rabies Certificate just to trim nails and didn't care about a Rabies Vaccination tag. I had driven down Jersey Avenue and noticed Millie's Pooch Parlor and I see a SUV with decals on the back parked in a driveway in town so I suggested the husband place a call. He did call and was given a time that day to come in. He had nothing but nice things to say about the place and the way his sometimes nervous dog behaved in their care. He liked what he saw there and would have no issue leaving his dog to be groomed there in the future. read more

What an amazing grooming salon for your dog. Everyone is so nice and inviting. My baby girl loves visiting millies pooch parlor. We drive up to the place and my dog gets so excited. Faith is just amazing. My dog comes out exactly how we want her everytime. We used to take our girly to another place when we first got her and we were never satisfied with the results and didn't like that the dogs would be crated together. We never have that problem here. The best part about this place is they keep the dogs separate so I know she's safe. I definitely recommend utilizing there services. We love them!!! read more

Brought my Cavalier King Charles there today and was very happy when I picked him up. This was our first time there and was a little nervous due to him being under a vets care for his back and needed to be kept calm and no jumping or playing with the other dogs. When we picked him up he was in a crate just chillin. Thank you Faith and the rest of the staff for doing a great job with his grooming and taking care of him.
