And not just kinda strong, like put some hair on your chest strong. The food is just okay, even though our Caesar salads stole the show. The kebabs were lacking in flavor, which is why there was a loss of a star (salt and pepper would've elevated them). No clue how much we spent cause my date covered the bill, but the views, drinks, and company made it priceless. Can't wait to be back!

During our recent stay at the Thompson San Antonio, we explored the dining options at this…read morerestaurant for all 3 meals. One of the reasons we picked this property was the vegan on-property options. Let's get to the bads, since they overshadowed the experience - dinner service was supeeeer slow. Their main attraction, the lamb was not available but they did offer shawarma from their lunch leftover which we got. And it was bad. Pita had a stink of bad oil, it was stale and the meat was dry. Lunch salad was disappointing as well. The goods - breakfast was good. Prompt service and menu has something for everyone. The dips from dinner menu were really good as well as the potato's didn't disappoint. Their main attraction vibe is good and the stuff seemed okay too.

As soon as we sat down at our sweetheart table, one of the bartending staff came over and introduced himself to us and told us congratulations and that he would get us anything we needed throughout the night. We heard from so many of our guests that the bartending staff was professional, humble and really nice to everyone. At the end of the night they went out of their way to help pack up, which they weren't required to do at all. We were required to use either this company or Margarita Madness based on certified bartenders in the area that our venue allowed, but we would have picked them regardless because they were awesome! I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a bartending service.

We didn't, and ended up with a 30-minute wait, though we got lucky with mild weather that day. Once seated, service moved quickly, drinks came out fast and our order was taken shortly after. I went with the Southern Bennie, their creative twist on eggs Benedict: two poached eggs over pulled pork, stacked on flaky biscuits, topped with Hollandaise and a touch of BBQ sauce. I wasn't sure the flavors would work together, but the sweet BBQ against the creamy Hollandaise was a genuinely delicious combo. I added a side of French toast, which rounded out the plate perfectly. My wife ordered the Eggs Florentine with a side of banana pancakes and enjoyed both so much that she boxed up some pancakes to take home. This place consistently delivers a great brunch experience. My only tip: skip the in-person wait and get on their online waitlist before you arrive, you'll thank yourself later.

I simply wanted to get an idea of the wait before loading everyone up and heading over. The woman who answered told me the wait was about 45 minutes to an hour, then asked, "Is there anything else you need?" I asked whether I could put my name on the waitlist over the phone. Apparently that was an unreasonable question. She responded in an incredibly condescending tone that someone has to physically be there to get on the waitlist, then obnoxiously repeated, "Is there anything else you need?" in a way that made it very clear she wanted me off the phone and had zero interest in being helpful. For the record, I have absolutely no issue with a policy requiring someone to be there in person to join the waitlist. That's perfectly reasonable. What isn't reasonable is talking down to a potential customer for simply asking the question. We were genuinely considering coming here for breakfast today. Instead, that 30-second interaction made the decision for us. If this is how prospective customers are treated before they even walk through the door, I'd rather spend our money somewhere that actually values their business.

First visited this restaurant in 2024 on a business trip, came back in 2026 for another trip and this is still our favorite (or 1A with Mon Chou Chou being 1B) San Antonio restaurant that transcends Texas cuisine cliches to create something unique and special. On this trip we had a lovely butternut squash soup, flavorful scallops, a to die for Hudson Foie Gras with extra French toast (a unique pairing that worked), killer lamb chops, a late arriving basket of bread (only service hiccup in the two visits) and the outstanding soufflé which we had twice two years ago. Wine list is excellent and decent restaurant pricing, service was friendly with only the bread basket issue. Otherwise she was a solid server who did the wine service professionally as well. I still wish the glass list wasn't at room temp. We bought a bottle off the glass list and had to chill it. We sat in the restaurant during our visits which is lively and energetic, the patio seats outdoor would be romantic on cooler nights. Glad to see such a consistently great restaurant in a tourist area! Highly recommended!
