Rude and Unprofessional Sales Manager My supervisor visited this dealership to negotiate a deal on behalf of his clients, and unfortunately, the sales manager's behavior was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. His condescending manner was completely unnecessary and left a very poor impression of both him and the dealership. I would not recommend referring clients to this dealership based on this experience alone. The way a sales manager treats prospective customers--particularly when dealing with a business owner--says a great deal about the dealership's overall approach to customer service and professionalism. It is especially ironic that someone whose livelihood depends on working for Honda would feel entitled to speak down to a business owner who is independently running a company and providing employment to others. A little professionalism and humility would have gone a long way. Needless to say, there are plenty of other dealerships that understand how to conduct business respectfully, and I would take my business--and my referrals--elsewhere. read more

I haven't ever written a review of a car dealership, and with a score already this low what do I add? First, demand the price you want. Don't let their sighs and shrugs dissuade you. You are in the building, they want to make the deal work. Walk out if they don't meet your terms. Next, ignore any and everything the F&I person tells you. Its 100% lies. Their business model rewards lying to sell you additional 3rd party insurance, service plans, and random crap. Just ignore that. Tell them to move it along. Get all your documentation before leaving. If you get a certified honda from them get the form and booklet showing that it is certififed. Otherwise, you have to go back and they wring their hands and promise to fix it and you have to worry about it. But mostly, remember they are lying to you from the moment you walk in the door. The business model of a car dealership rewards them for lying to you to get you to spend more money. read more

Bait & Switch: After negotiating over the phone I received a lease quote in writing via email. It included the vehicle, term, mileage, monthly payment, and amount due at signing. I asked for an itemized breakdown of this before coming in and was denied. Had they sent it I would have prevented exactly what I wanted to avoid; what happened today when I drove there. Initially I dealt with Ito, but another sales manager (Julian) came to tell me they miscalculated and could not honor the deal even though it's in writing. He said the General Manager (Earl) also said they would not honor the deal, even though it's in writing. The payment increased by almost $100/month. Make sure you get the full itemized breakdown in writing before driving out to this dealership. read more

Be ware of your money. Ask for a print out before you sign on any document. A week ago i bought Honda CRV used, certified. Original price advertised 33249. After negotiation, agreed 31.5k prior to tax, tags etc. With 3k down, 28.5k should have been financed. Yet, on paper, the lady was lile sign here prior to print. I asked for.a print, She sais you will see it when i print, everything is the same. When the print out cane, after i signed, it says financed 33k excluding my down payment. Now that my child is grown up, I decided to trade in my mini van and get a hybrid, subcompact SUV. My dad said "Get a Honda!" So, I drove 3 miles from my house to the Ourisman Honda in Bethesda. Christie Prass met me, smiling at the door. She and I spent a good part of the next 3 afternoons selecting my perfect car! She was patient, kind and knowledgable. We had two cars to choose from and we took them both for fabulous test drives. Absolutely terrible experience! I came in for a full service, oil change, and diagnostic but only ended up getting an oil change and a basic inspection--after being stuck there from 9AM to 6PM! The technicians clearly had no idea what they were doing, aggressively installed my windshield wipers, and left scratches on the driver-side panel. They didn't even do the car wash I requested and was promised. I got a small discount on the oil change, but that doesn't come close to making up for the wasted time and inconvenience. Then they had the nerve to ask me to leave my car overnight to finish the job the next day--completely unacceptable! To top it off, when I bought my car in 2021, I was promised every other oil change for free, but they refused to honor that. It's no surprise this dealership has such a low rating. If I could give zero stars, I would. I will never go back! Also how you do an oil changed and you never placed a sticker to show it's been down. Highly disappointed!!!! read more

Courteously and promptly served on arrival. Left the car overnight. Another representative called mid-morning informing me car was ready. I brought my car in due to a recall. The Honda letter said it will take 1.5 hours to fix. Ourisman said 1/2 day. Its been almost 8 hours and the guy who helped me wont return calls or texts. The general number refers me back to guy who doesnt answer or return calls/texts. Such bad service. I see from the reviews that poor service is the norm for them. Ugh. read more

Took my vehicle in for scheduled maintenance & was greeted by John Thurston. John was very helpful & clear in communicating what a B 1-2 service consisted of and any discounts that could be applied. I appreciate him taking the time to do so & explaining the services that would be conducted. Al Samateh is also a great service advisor. I have worked with him previously. He is knowledgeable and exudes great customer service. My vehicle was serviced within a few hours and also received a complimentary car wash which I appreciate! Despite many great experiences with staff and service at this location, Honda did slightly drop the ball this time. In my vehicle, I have aftermarket fog lights that are wired directly to the battery. When I received my vehicle back, headlights and fog lights were not on so I didn't notice a difference. As I was driving I noticed my light output didn't seem as bright as usual. After arriving home, I checked head and fog lights and noticed both fog lights were out. I opened the hood, checked the fog light wiring and discovered that the fog lights were disconnected from the battery. I'm assuming that during the battery check, Honda disconnected wiring and forgot to reconnect the fog lights. Im not upset, but would appreciate if things were more carefully reviewed and placed back the same way they were found. Aside from that, I still enjoy the staff and having my vehicle serviced at this location. I will return in the future. read more

Don't waste your time!! I saw online they had a car I wanted so I came to test drive and they said I couldn't because it was "undergoing maintenance" (first red flag). Not only that but the sales rep I was supposed to see didn't even show up to our appointment so they gave me someone else. But I was very interested in the car so I gave it another try and they scheduled me an appointment with another rep and of course, they also didn't show up to our appointment. Very unprofessional. Then when I tried to finally test drive, they told me the car wouldn't turn on and that they were going to have to replace the battery. So they told me I could come back to test drive tomorrow after they fixed it. The next day I called to confirm the appointment and they told me someone came in today and that they were going to sell the car that I WAS TRYING TO PURCHASE to them. All these people care about is money! They're very unprofessional, nobody had contacted me before hand or at least try to save it for me. Then these people had the audacity to say that because I didn't put any sort of down payment, they weren't going to save it. But why would I put a down payment on a car that doesn't work...nor did I ever get the chance to actually make sure it worked before putting down any type of money. But when I got there both cars he called me about had already been purchased. I received a phone call two days prior confirming the test drive of these two vehicles. I arrived at the correct time and date to test drive two specific vehicles. When I arrived I waited 20 minutes to find out neither the two vehicles requested were in stock. Total waste of time, unprofessional sales representative, they call you to confirm your appointment for a specific vehicle and then try to upsell their current stock which is usually overpriced and full of frivolous upgrades that no one would need . moreover, sales rep gave incorrect advice to guide my car purchase. I was told that there were no Honda passports in stock until March of 2022. I was told that all of Hondas factories were Currently closed. in the end I asked to find the nearest Honda dealership to them, I was told that there is no Honda passports in the state of Maryland and that it would be a waste of time. Here is a list of dealerships close to them to go instead: Herson's Honda, Criswell Honda, Brown's Arlington Honda Bill Page Honda ,Landmark Honda I left with a poor taste in my mouth of the unhelpful staff. A quick phone call and 40 minutes later I was test driving a Honda Passport to guide my car purchase in nearby Rockville . they were professional and we're not pushy with their sales tactics . My 2013 Honda Accord's steering rack failed. The 2013 Accord was the first year that an electric motor wass used in the steering rack and Honda Motors had a number of problems with it resulting in their extending the warranty on the steering rack for 13 years . According to Honda the torque sensor had to throw one of two EPS codes in order to be covered by the warranty. Honda inspected my car, told me of the failed rack, but they did not mention nor test for the indicated EPS codes. I researched the problem - my car was responding exactly as described in the service bulletin, and I brought the car in and requested that they check the EPS codes. Of course, you never see the results of their tests aI was totally surprised when Ourisman Honda told me that the repair would not be covered by warranty. There is a lot of evidence that the engineering was defective. The repair should have been covered! And I have my doubts about their test results. read more

Ourisman is profoundly mediocre despite being in one of the most heavily trafficked areas of Bethesda. We got our car there in February 2020 and are extremely happy with how easy it was to buy (Okezie was super helpful). Then over the years, we'd take our car in for service, and it would take multiple hours (3 - 6+) for a basic service package (aka the glorified oil and filter change). Because of used car shortages, Ourisman has been spamming us for months asking to buy our car. I've repeatedly asked them to stop asking (we love our car too much to part with it at this point), yet I still get emails. I threaten to take our car elsewhere for service, and I get snail mail monthly. They are surrounded by a wealth of rich people and technology, so there is absolutely no reason why something as simple as an "unsubscribe" can't be honored. To be honest and fair, most of us leave negative reviews of companies because we are petty, and it feels good to rant. It feels even better to hit them in the pocketbook because of their poor business practices. We've spent over $1200 at Ourisman in the past year between new tires, oil changes, and other things. Extrapolating that over the course of the lifetime of our car, they've probably lost $10k in service simply because no one could figure out how to use the CRM software appropriately. Maybe if you too choose to go elsewhere that will be a win for the less conveniently located auto shops. And if you think that at this point you haven't reached the bottom of this pit of pettiness, just wait: I am now looking online for different license plate frames to replace the stock Ourisman ones that came with the car. I will actually pay money to remove all mention of Ourisman from our vehicle until they are a distant memory (perhaps even a fond one, in the end), forced to reckon with their own incompetence that led to the loss of an otherwise dispassionate customer. 2 stars. read more

I drove my meticulously maintained (by Honda dealer) 2017 CRV with 100k miles into Ourisman for them to check on a coolant leak.(that i though may be covered under warrantee) SIX HOURS LATER they told Me the engine was ruined because the spark plugs had fused inside the cylinder when the car overheated.(reason I was bringing it in) And I needed a COMPLETE NEW ENGINE at the cost of TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I TOWED IT out of there and brought it to my mechanic of 20 years. He charged my 500 bucks to UNDUE whatever damage OURISMAN DID. The car is running great. I'm not sure if Ourisman are incompetent, or if they are crooks, or a combination of both. I'll let the better business bureau figure it out for me. read more

This review is for my experience purchasing a Passport today, and for Erick Portillo and Carmen Wells at Ourisman. When I buy a new car - which is as infrequently as possible - I do a lot of research up front. I know exactly what I want - make, model, year, color, trim, options, mileage and price. I find that car online at a price I'm willing to pay, and then I go in to test drive it and buy it if all goes well. Even knowing exactly what I want, with neither the desire nor the inclination to haggle or negotiate, I have not previously enjoyed buying cars, dealing with the pushy sales managers, the back and forth, the sitting around for hours, the add-ons from the finance team, the unpleasant personalities. Thankfully, this was not my experience at all today at Ourisman. My sales manager was Erick Portillo, and I highly recommend him. Erick was pleasant and easy to work with, had everything ready to go for the test drive when I arrived. He had followed up with me by text a few times prior to my visit, not pushy at all, just being helpful. Ultimately, I decided I knew which vehicle I wanted, which color, and since Ourisman had it, I told him I'd come in for the drive. We had a nice conversation during the test drive and he answered all my questions. We got back to the dealership, he quickly brought me a quote that matched what he'd initially proposed, and then on to the paperwork. Couldn't have been easier or more pleasant. I then worked with Carmen Wells for the paperwork, and we also had a great conversation while we worked through all the details. Again, easy easy easy, no attempts to upsell me and no arguments when I declined the extended warranty. I was in and out in 2.5 hours tops. Erick even dropped the car off at my home for me later in the evening. All car-buying experiences should be like this. I can't believe I just said I had a pleasant day buying a car. First the location of this Honda dealership is at a perfect spot. Walking distance to retail stores, parks, and restaurants. Every time I leave my car here, I usually walk to the other stores to get my errands complete while I wait for my car to be fixed. If I didn't have to relocate, I would continue to go to their service center for all of my car care. There's not alot of Honda service centers located in a walking, retail and trail/bike friendly location. Out of all the Honda service centers I've been to this one is the best.
