They opened in July I think. Nerwins Place sure has a lot of pride in their food! Everything i has for lunch was delicious and home made. The Thanksgiving Samich was over the top! Fresh roasted turkey, dressing and cranberry sauce on sour dough bread. OMG ...the very best samich I've eaten in years! Yum I also got the very fresh spinach salad with home made balsamic vinegrete. I can't wait to take my hubby. John waited on me and he was very knowledgeable and very cute! . The entire restaurant is so clean!

I ordered a patty melt medium rare and my friend ordered the beef piled high dipped in gravy. Both sandwiches were above decent. But I was hoping for just a little bit more as I had a specific craving...when I think of an all American sandwich like the patty melt, I'm shooting for a glazed buttered grilled rye dripping in Swiss and grilled onion. The sandwich was ample in size and the meat was medium rare...I'd like to suggest amping up the flavor by Adding more onion and grilling that bread to a slick golden brown so I can hear it crunch when I break into it my friend enjoyed her beef piled high, however would like to suggest grilling the bread just a little bit which gives the entire sandwich a different appeal that you can't get everywhere. All in all it was a great experience that I would try again and likely suggest! I have my eye on their turkey sandwich and the desserts looked and sounded amazing! Hoping the biz picks up enough to be the new breakfast place in town! We need one! See you again soon!

The options we had were the chef carved tenderloin of beef, panko encrusted cod, and the herb roasted rosemary chicken. Service is top notch and the decor was both tasteful and beautiful. We had a Star Wars/Super hero theme which they helped us create. Star wars movies played behind the bar all night. The second time we came here was for my baby shower and again everyone raved about the food. They are extremely organized and every detail is thought of. We also come here every year for Mother's day. The brunch is out of this world. I would suggest this to anyone looking for a great event venue. You wont be disappointed.

First - you deal with the daughter when setting up to host your event. She's personable…read moreaccommodating and explains things. However, the owner is the one at the event and he's not approachable, rude to guests, has an excuse for everything and honestly, is a complete douche. You're running a business that depends on pleasant interaction and the comments made to or about people (states kids shouldn't be at weddings) is mind blowing. The event I was recently at, the bartender was even worse. He was never behind the bar, stating he was "cleaning" which meant he was running around eating the chicken tenders that were put out for guests and had the mind set to scream F-bombs from across the dance floor in front of kids between 4 - 10 (stand-up guy right there) I get it, life choices and all have led to this job of bartending at events but when you don't know how to approach people, when your go to is to scream and cuss in front of small children maybe it's time to re-evaluate those choices. This would go on until someone asked why he wasn't checking IDs and how his underage daughter was getting glasses of wine (IDs were checked for the final hour of the event) Jumping over to the food - normally it's spot on. This night it wasn't that good. The choice of beef was over cooked, the sauce for the noodles was runny and watered down and the meatballs had cold areas within them. The AC was kicking for a 50-degree day and when several of the guests asked if it could be shut off that non approachable owner stated that wasn't going to happen. Did I mention what a standup guy John is for a business that depends on customer service? This place used to be a great venue. The last few years I get the impression it buys into its own hype and feels it doesn't need to do anything to better itself. Honestly, I think this place could use some upgrades, probably with ownership - or keep the owner away from people and let the daughter run it from top to bottom. The last couple of years I've been looking at other places when I need to host a venue- while this place used to be on top it's now sliding off my list. There are other places that actually want the business, are accommodating and know how to approach people when needed. They don't stand there trying to look menacing with their arms akimbo while glaring at the guests like this owner does, reminding everyone he'd much rather be at home screaming at small children to stay off his lawn.

My mom had bought cakes from her before for special events, so we knew the cake would be awesome, but the food was also really amazing! It was a pleasure to work with Susan for my wedding from the beginning. She provided everything (including her own kitchen and waitstaff) to staff our wedding, which basically was close to 200 people. She made suggestions and helped us come up with a menu that fit with our budget that we loved. We had plated salads and then a buffet since it was held at lunch, and everything was absolutely wonderful, INCLUDING the price. Guests still talk about how good the food was and it's four years later! I really cannot think of any better caterer than Susan and her team at Truly Gourmet. If I still lived in Michigan, I would seriously have her cater any of my major (or minor) life events :)
