We brought her to daycare because we decided she would benefit from hanging around other children and "learning" , and we'd be working full time. MFA really helped mold her into the toddler she is today. They weaned her off her baby bottle which was my first green flag within the first week.. Hubby and I were having such a hard time. Then she started talking more. She began singing nursery rhymes. She became more independent. She learned her ABC's and to count to twenty. She knows how identify a lot of shapes. This was all before the age of two. She gained more confidence and independence. Before i put her in MFA i was worried because she wasn't hitting certain milestones such as saying ten words. Her pediatrician wasn't worried, but now i'm no longer worried because she has hit all her milestones and surpassed some for her age!!! For the most part she LOVES going to school. there will be times she will "refuse" or cry to go to school due to separation anxiety but it's normal. Thankfully their pick up and drop off system is getting/bringing the children at the door. She began in an Older Toddler program and recently switched over to Early Preschool. I wonder what we have in store next!!!

From the moment we took a tour my daughter loved this place. She was reaching for everything wanting to play and even spoke to a few staff members. This was amazing to me because she was scared of talking to strangers. For her first few months I still lived in another state. Since she lived with dad, the ladies took care of doing her hair every morning for him which was a huge relief for me. Since moving to the sunshine state she even started to wear sunglasses all day long! Her teachers not only embraced her new habit but made sure to send her home with all her belongings everyday. They even helped label some items! I thought my daughter would be a bit behind because she was born almost 4 months premature. But that was not the case. Before I knew it she was eating more talking more and even using sign language as she spoke! My daughter has now been in KWLA for over a year. I have since moved over a half hour away but I gladly make the trip every morning afternoon to bring my daughter here. She speaks more than most kids her age, she is potty trained thanks to them, she has wonderful little habits like singing as she is completing a task, and she begs me to bring her to see her friends and teacher everyday. I never know what classroom my child will be in at pick up or what teacher she will be with. Monday (11/27) at pick up there was a teacher holding a completely naked toddler on her hip outside at 5pm when it was 60ish degrees. No effort or rush to dress this child. Two other teachers stood there laughing about this poor girl. When I spoke with the director, Darlene, the next morning her tone was accusatory and she did not seem as concerned as she should've been. The facility always smells dirty as well. At no point have I walked in and thought 'it smells freshly cleaned in here.' As a parent, it is concerning the level of neglect going on at this facility. If you have other options, do not send your children here. I elevated my complaints to the district manager, Kelly, and she also did not seem to care about the safety and well being of the children.

I try to limit the time outside because what I hear is troublesome, (it's not constant but when it happens and you hear or see the students reaction, is baffling. I wonder if kids are believed or even able to articulate what happens to their adults). It not only chokes me to tears sometimes, also a few other neighbors, and they don't even speak English. Do your best to not bring students who have ASD, ADD, ADHD, or any other neurological conditions that may affect their behavior. Unless it's Mrs. Kimmy who'll have your child. Bathroom accidents are expected, yet when the neurological conditions directly affects their behavior, MANY MANY times things get out of hand. Also, if your child gets injured by another student, HOPE AND PRAY is not on the camera blind spot, because not even DCF would be having your back. Lastly, for being a Christian Academy, the owners and most of the teachers NEED JESUS' TOUCH AGAIN AND A FRESH BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!!! STAT!!!!! I was very sad to see Mrs. Shamese go, because Mrs. Kimmy and Mrs. Shamese made a great team. They're not condescending, low-key humiliating, not dismissive. And I am NOT a disgruntled anything. I never worry about my son being with her Monday through Friday because she is professional and as loving as a family member. My son is picky and not always easy to work with, but she calms him down and communicates with me. She is a blessing in my life and will always be very special to us.
