Good place for older kids or teenagers but not so much for little kids or adults in my opinion. That obstacle course was almost the end of me. If you're an older overweight adult like me don't bother. I literally fell off of it within two minutes and it was a struggle the rest of the way. Kids enjoyed it though. Seemed to be some roughhousing going on with other kids there pushing kids off the floatable obstacle course. I saw it for myself. Worth a go at least once in your life. Where do I begin!! This was the most fun we've had in a long time! First things first we decided to have a birthday party for my daughters!! With COVID-19 some kids didn't even get a chance to have a birthday. We were putting our heads together to think of a location that's good for everyone who wants to social distance. This was the best location and the best choice! We made reservations online only 50 people are allowed on the course at a time. But trust me there's plenty a room! We bought all the slots and got a group rate! We brought our own canopies and our own tables to set up for the party. Which was no problem at all for us! They worked with all our guests and we had all our waivers signed ahead of time so everything worked out great!! There is a dock that you can walk all the way out and take pictures of your kids if you choose not to participate. However I highly recommend you try the course it is a lot of fun!! What a work out!! We brought our own food and drinks, and it was no problem at all. They provide the life vest but my girls had their own. It is recommended you know how to swim the water is really deep. With the life vest you do stay afloat but it's nice to know how to tread water. It's six years old and up to participate. Everyone kept saying they had the time of their lives!! They do have a concession and they sell ice cream drinks and water. We booked a double session so they were out there for two hours. The lifeguards were so friendly and nice and really enjoyed all the kids you can tell they love what they do! You definitely want to check this out!! We just loved it!! read more

Weeeeeee What? A wakeboarding practice ground! This is by cable pull, not boat. The only kind I have done really. There is a groupon for this. The groupon give you 4 hours to play, the equipment (board and helmet) and a get up guaranteed! MAKE SURE TO RESERVE THE GET UP GUARANTEE if you want it! Otherwise you can get the groupon and just do the 4hours on the cables. 4 hours is MORE THAN ENOUGH! My friend and I never made it for 4 hours! The cable is motorized so ofcourse on the turns is where they boost the power lines again, and that were it gets me.... and I PLOP into the water. You then have to swim to shore and then walk back to the dock where you start again. It gets tiring if you fall too far then you spend most of your time swimming back to shore.... Environment Very very relaxed and comfortable environment. Don't be intimidated by the experts! It is totally fun! It is a practice ground after all.. There are 2 circuits if I may say. One is the regular cable which I was told goes slower than the advanced cable. Both sections have ramps for tricks and such. The seating area is elevated so you can see the lake and all the good stuff going on. There is also a faux beach area on the regular cable side where you can sit and watch others wakeboard. You can bring your own food and there is a food shack that sells fries and drinks and such. Niceness Everyone is very nice and willing to give you tips on becoming the next expert (if you want). The cable operators are nice, if there is any questions they are willing to help you. If there is somewhere you have a hiccup and can't overcome it, ask for advise! They want to see you succeed! If attended this place quite often, and it was my first time making the full round. This is because the corners are usually the spots where it gets me, ask it turns and seems to be pulling... Dollar $$ With the groupon it is quite reasonable. So look out for groupons! definitely worth it if you want to learn Yes? Yup! When I see that groupon available! Excited that I could make it around. This place is nothing short of awesome! The water obstacle course is the biggest we have been on and perfect for the brave 7 old old, teenagers and workout loving mom and dad. The cable course looked great and they had people of all ages and abilities going and the staff was patient. Great beach and sitting area. terrible, came and they gave me a youth life jacket, when I was a definitely a snug fit in the extra small, I could hardly breathe as the youth is made for 4 year olds, and I am almost 14, so that is never ok. I thought the lifeguard would tell it was a terrible fit, when It took me almost a whole minute to squeeze my arms in. my little brother, who is a smaller clothes size got to wear a tightened xtra small, but they wouldn't even tighten mine. the life guard was rude wouldn't even let me loosen the vest. the whole park was not as advertised and the whole thing had brown on it, and not bright. there was also a ton of algae and probably alligators. would not recommend to anyone, big waste of money. the water spraying at us was black and obviously dirty. we could also smell the lake from far away. the two tallest towers were only for lifeguards so that was a big disappointment. when we finally got on the thing, it was slick with algae and the yellow parts that were supposed to be easy to get into were pretty difficult for my little brother, who isn't that small. I had to get off after a few minutes because I couldn't breathe, and when we told the front lady about the situation she tried to shove me back in the youth, so we left. read more

This is a great place to kill some time on a weekend afternoon. The only reason I cannot give it more stars is because the day we went to a lot of the obstacle course was deflated, so that was disappointing. We still paid full price to use less than 2/3 of the course. Also, most of the inflatables had some serious mold and grime on them. The pricing is decent and although we did not utilize the water skiing area, that looked like a lot of fun. I probably would go back and try that next time instead. read more

We are on spring break in Orlando and knowing the theme parks will be overrun with crowds, we decided to get the kids involved in a physical activity. With 4 kids, age 4,5,7 and 9, the OWC could accommodate all of them with one instructor. 4 kids for 4 hours and get up guarantee was worth the $59 each. The younger ones were able to easily go around the lake on knee boards. My oldest was able to get up after a few falls. My 2nd took a little more time to get up. The youngest two pooped out after a couple of hours but enjoyed riding along with Nick on his surfboard. After the lesson, my husband and I felt we needed to reinforce the lesson with another go. We came back two days later and signed up for lessons again with Nick. This time my husband and I signed up along with my two eldest kids. This is the way to learn wakeboarding. The cable line method allows for quick repetition. Once you get up, you get a few more tips a few to go even further and learn negotiate the turns around the cable line that traces the lake. My husband is left handed which naturally made it easier to take the turns counterclockwise around the lake by leaning back into the corners. My girls and I are right handed so we spent a majority of our time learning to make the turns by leaning forward. This place was a great find and plan to include the OWC as part of our Orlando itinerary when we return. I highly recommend Nick as an instructor. He carried a GoPro during the lessons and expect to find some fun footage on my email when I return home. The establishment is family friendly and accommodating to newcomers. The front desk staff, the cook, and the guys running the cable line were all very kind and helpful. Consider this place when you need a break from the theme parks. read more

I live in Atlanta so I only ride at OWC about 6-8 times a year during the winter. OWC has a vibe about it that makes you feel like you're presence is welcomed and appreciated. I want my whole family to come here and play. We saw this place on Facebook and one of my bestie was coming from Puerto Rico and I told her about this place and showed her the place online she loved it. As soon as we arrived she was not too excited being that the place looks really small it looked like something for kids like we were to grown to do that. She wanted to hit plan B, but I convince her to do it being that we were already there. We paid 20 dollars for 50 minutes and my friend said we will finish that in 30 but no we didn't not at all. This place is excellent and such a great deal. If you have never wakeboarded before, this is a great place to start. Easier and cheaper than boating. Price: $33 on groupon What: 30 minute lesson, 4 hours of wakeboarding. Includes all great needed. Service: Everyone is super helpful, even outside the lesson. We came in 15-30 minutes late and they still gave us a full four hour block. They have a seating area with picnic tables. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we were able to find seating. They have a mini beach (emphasis on mini). They also have a charcoal grill for use. We brought snacks and a cooler of drinks (technically no drinking and wakeboarding. technically.). They also have a place to buy food but we didn't need it. Also, for some reason, when I booked on my Ipad, it booked for a Monday rather than Saturday. I didn't realize this until the Tuesday of. I emailed them telling them the situation. I was a little nervous but hours later I received a new confirmation for my correct time. No questions asked. Thanks OWC! read more

Driving up to this place you'll honestly be tempted to turn around. You've gotta pass through some very sketchy parts of Orange Blossom Trail and into some industrial backroads, not exactly where you'd expect this place to be. Once you get to OWC, as it's referred to by most of the locals and avid watersports attendies, you'll be amazed that you didn't know it existed in the first place. The complex consists of a lake with cable system running through. This cable systems spins in a counter clockwise direction (good if you ride right foot forward) and pulls about 5-7 wakeboarders/skiiers/knee boarders at a time on each side. If you want to try a watersport or are just starting out, the right side of the cable park is the way to go. It runs slower and is mostly open water to practice staying up, ollies, 180s and anything else you may need to practice on surface water. The operators are more than happy to help you get strapped in and learn how to get up and start having some fun. I wakeboard regularly and face planted the first 4 times trying to get up so don't be afraid to ask, once you get it, you got it always! Most people buy an hour to start which is plenty of time.. normally at around 40 minutes our group quits cause our arms are jello and heads to grab a beer. If you're a more experienced rider, the left fast cable is where you wanna be. Be advised, if you're not ready for this side, don't do it...it may look slow but it will snap you on the corners when you're not paying attention. This side has tons of trick ramps and sliders on it though so if you're a great rider, have some fun. I love just sitting on the shore with some friends and watching people do amazing tricks and/or massive falls! The back section of the lake is for boat lessons and competitions. Most of the big wakeboarding competitions are held here including Gravel Tour and the World Championships. There's also a Performance ski shop here in case you want to buy any gear, but I would really recommend going to their main store on OBT instead. They've even got 1/2 off specials on some nights, so break out your swimmies and learn how to board! read more

The Orlando location is probably my favorite. I went to the Miami location and was smitten by Wakeboarding. This time around I fell in love with wake-surfing. The facility is great. I would however recommend getting Lessons. I did the get up guarantee in Miami and never got up, but with private lessons here and other places, I'm a huge fan of the sport! read more

I just got started with wakeboarding because a lot of my friends are into the sport. Because im a beginner I don't have much to compare this place to..but.. This place definitely has a younger, athletic crowd..surfer/ skater boys if you will. And most of them are more experienced than just "beginners". That said, it is always intimidating when you are starting out, but the staff there is quite friendly and is willing to offer you tips. You get to see quite a lot of cute guys/ attractive girls there too, although some can be quite show-off-y or snobby. I also realize that you get a lot of foreign people who drop by there, which is cool. Red Bull colligiate day is my fave:: day of free everything plus red bull!! you definitely get to meet a lot of cool people, college age there. Many come from out of town to the event. Other than the fact that prices aren't cheap, and that it can get crowded during some hours, this is not only a great place to wakeboard, but also meeting new people (//guy watching), or just to hangout. read more

We traveled for about 1.5 hrs to get here and then immediately decided to come back in two weeks for my sons birthday. We decided to add this outing to our vacation itinerary because our kids are all at great ages to do something adventurous like this. We all had limited wakeboarding experience before our day at the complex but Tyler gave us some great lessons in our "Get Up Guarantee" sessions. After about 10 minutes each of us were up on the boards and learning to cut. Instruction was awesome! Then we spent the next four hours on the standard cables putting it all into practice. We loved it! When I booked this for our family our daughter wasn't old enough for the "Get Up Guarantee" so we put her through the child safety course with the 4-hour cable pass. The only thing I would have done differently was to book her some time in a private coaching session because although she was confident on the knee board, she really wanted to get wakeboarding down but struggled for the rest of the day with it out of sheer determination. The cable coaches were really good to offer her tips but I think she would have done much better with some individual coaching. Disney and Universal are fun, but honestly, when we return to Orlando again I think we'll skip those and spend our time at OWC and Tree Trek. Both were great experiences!! read more

My review is actually for December 2014. I took my husband and brother-in-law in here with a groupon for a lesson and four hours on the cable. Even though we were there on a beautiful afternoon it wasn't too crowded and they both got plenty of time on the water. The staff were pretty friendly and it has great area if you're like me and waiting for your friends/family. I was able to lay out and tan or do some reading in the shade.
