I save money every time I go there because their prices are cheaper than buying at the range next-door. i am a first time gun buyer and recently applied for a gun license in the state of NJ, I decided to go to this establishment since they have a wide array of rifles, shotguns, handguns, etc. the staff were extremely not helpful especially the heavy set guy who was condescending towards me and my girlfriend. the prices are extremely absurd especially for a left handed ar with no rails for attachment being priced at 800$. as well as that, i was immediately asked to see our id's and gun permit before we interacted with the staff, at which point i told him that i recently applied for a gun license, he brushed me off and told me to come back when i have a gun license. i've been to other gun stores in NJ where they allowed you to interact with rifles without having a permit but you weren't able to purchase a rifle while the staff didn't even allow us to interact with the rifle. TMALSS: condescending and tight ass staff and overpriced rifles will make this my first and last time visiting ottomanelli sporting arms. read more

What an amazing group of guys, I was treated like a regular as soon as I walked in. I went there for a specific handgun and not being to knowledgeable about other gun manufactures options they where extremely helpful in explaining things to me I didn't know about other manufacturers specific options. My project this weekend (7/18/15): Purchase my first firearm! I applied for a permit back in January "15", the processing time from my local police department was about 4 months, I received my permit back in April "15". That said, it's now July and the permit is due to expire !! With that in mind, I walk into Ottomanelli's first thing Saturday morning, wide-eyed, clammy hands, butterflies in my stomach, didn't eat breakfast because I was so nervous and I was already sweating! I was greeted by Mike and his son Brandon, both of which were welcoming and very attentive! Phew!! To start, I'm a female and I never handled, owned, and/or shot a handgun in my life!! Brandon was my gun PRO for the day, he walked me through their extensive selection of guns and took the time to explain the features of each. He was patient with me, answered all my questions, and even showed me how to handle the gun properly, down to the correct stance ! I asked about the cleaning of the gun, I was showed how to clean it, but was also told I could always come back any time and they would gladly walk me through the cleaning process again when I was ready. Brandon went above and beyond to make sure I was 110% happy and comfortable with my selection. I went with a VP9 by H&K! I will forever be grateful to Ottomanelli's (Mike, Brandon, and Dave) for making this a less daunting task for someone with little or no experience, such as myself. I have purchased 6 firearms from Ottomanelli's in the past. Every time they talk the BS about their store but every time they charge full retail. I asked only once for a break on the price, but was given a line of BS about not making enough profit. Stay away from purchasing firearms from this store. You are better off buying on line and having the firearm sent to your FFL and save $250 to $300 on your purchase depending on the firearm. Went in as a first time gun purchaser, knew what handgun I wanted to purchase (G17) but didn't know what type of AR-15 I wanted to purchase. Needed something ambidextrous due to being lefty. Carmine Helped me pick out an AR which was ambidextrous without being too expensive. He recommended me the SIG516. I was also given a safety lesson on both of the guns I purchased and how to disassemble both guns. They also changed the mag release on the G17 to be comfortable for me since being lefty. I ended up purchasing the two guns and was on my way. 3 minutes right after leaving I got a call back asking to come back, Carmine stating he had a gift for me. They gave me a free set of sights for my AR-15. I think Mike ended up finding them. Called to see if they can install sights on my 1911. Mike says "yeah we do this everyday". I drove down there afterwork and some guy with a donut around his waist and an attitude gives me the run around that they cant do it cause they don't want to scratch my gun. Thats some confidence. Don't bother going here for gun smithing, the only thing they are confident about is "scratching" your gun. Never had a good feeling about this place. @-holes and thieves with an attitude. Went in with money in my pocket to buy a shotgun. Not a cheap one mind you, but either an 870 Marine-Police or a Kel-Tec XGS. Guy behind the counter was helpful about the Remington and let me know it was out-of -production. When I ask about the Kel-tec, they are out of stock, but there was a different brand, a Utah UTS. (Their website says they have the Kel-Tec KSG in-stock) As he takes the gun from the display he points it directly at my face!!! Are you kidding me? Then as I ask him about the differences between the Kel-Tec and Utah, I notice the Utah's price tag of $1,400 and he tells me that is the same as the Kel-tec. When I mention that I saw the Kel-tec had a list of $990, some other idiot behind the counter starts saying "No way, if I could get the for that price I would buy them all day long". Nice, treat a potential customer like he's lying. Well take a look at the Kel-tec website. As I looked around while waiting for someone to help me I noticed all there guns are way overpriced. I bought my XD-S in .45 at Meltzers, with three clips for $550 and they want $600 with two clips. I'll be taking my cash back to Metzers, where they don't try and rob you or point a gun in your face. I walked in for the first time because I had to wait for a port at the shooting range next door, so I figured I go in and take a look at the huge selection. I purchased my Glock 19 at a different store, and my friend bought a Glock 43 at the same store. The first thing we noticed was how much cheaper the same guns are at Ottomanelli's, we're talking about over $100 difference! David helped me pick out my 1911, 22 Golden Boy and AR Saint, taking time to answer any and all questions, being patient and professional the entire time. Each time I go back it's like coming in to see an old friend, he knows what I like, and almost can guess exactly where my train of thought is running towards after holding a gun. I would recommend this store to everyone looking to purchase a firearm, the prices are very reasonable, the service is very courteous and professional, the store is very well stocked and very well lit. The whole experience is delightful, my only problem is I can't stop going back, I went from owning a single 9mm when I first walked in, to 2 rifles and 2 handguns in 3 visits, over the course of 3 weekends. It's almost like my weekend routine has become breakfast in the morning, go to Ottomanelli's to buy a gun, go shoot it at the range, followed by lunch every Saturday.
