    Meatball, Ricotta & Basil. Yum!

Hunting a place for a quick lunch as we traveled I295 heading from Maine to Massachusetts, Otto was a perfect stop. Easy off and easy on at exit 15. We were on the early side of lunch so parking was easy. We ordered a small meatball, ricotta and basil pizza and sat at the bar in the adjoining room. Nice, new, clean appearance to the room. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Pizza was perfectly cooked and the toppings were just right...not too little, not too much. A small pizza was plenty for the two of us. Clean, good restrooms. Great stop!

If I could rate it six stars I would because of the amazing service we received from Lauren. From the moment it was realized that we wanted to eat a slice while we waited for our Hot Honey/goat cheese/pepperoni to go , she escorted us to the restaurant side and had our order in within moments. We would have to wait for the individual slices of pepperoni with Jalapeños, so she brought out their mashed potato/bacon/scallions slice and the seasonal street corn style slice with cilantro (both freaking delicious) as a treat. The pizza, thin, crisp and just the right amount of chewiness. Bravo Otto on your hire of Lauren (so hard to find someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty) and on pizza well done! You have been a staple for Maine and you will be a staple for this foodie as well

OTTO offers a clean, trendy eating experience with local beers on tap. The staff during my visit was incredibly friendly and the service was quick. I decided to go with the Margherita pie - which turned out to be a great decision. The pie featured an ultra-thin base that was browned nicely by the oven. The fresh, juicy tomatoes were well distributed and did not slide when eating slices. The crisp exterior on the thin crust added a great crunch. The fresh basil ribbons and the spicy herb blend added to the cheese carried a ton of flavor. There are many other pizza options available at OTTO, including gluten-free and vegan options. I will definitely be returning so that I can work my way through the rest of the pizza menu.

I'm so disappointed in this location. Our pizza was cooked to annihilation and not edible at all, it was like chewing a rubber tire. It is disgraceful that they have a worker who thinks sending a pizza like this out the door is acceptable at all. No one should ever have to contact them about a pizza this terrible. It was also an hour late so to say it's disappointing when it arrived and we were starving is an understatement (it was the middle of the day on a random Tuesday! 2pm was expected time done. Was finished at 3:15!) They also never responded to my complaint and request for refund which now makes the company and not only the worker terrible. At the VERY least I deserve a refund for my $30 inedible pizza.

Fantastic jalapeño, bacon and ricotta pizza! My wife's squash and cranberry pizza is in the background.

My wife and I have always enjoyed the pizza from Otto's but have never visited this location. The pizza here did not disappoint.... great crisp crust with delicious and unique toppings. Superb! This space is peculiar and confusing if you have never been before. If you enter from the side street it is hard to tell you are even in the right place. Once inside, you are greeted by a large sign for Andy's which is a corner store that also serves food which is the front of the establishment; a sign for Moxie groceries and another sign for the Gorham Savings Bank Community Board Room?! All of this was inside a room about the size of my living room. After dinner, we exited through the front and saw the Ottos kitchen area which made things a bit clearer, but still a weird set up. The service was a very friendly but a little strange. The young man asked us if we wanted plates or if we were "just going to eat it off the pan"? After returning with the requested plates, he asked us if we wanted silverware and napkins. Seriously, I have never been asked if I wanted utensils and a plate before. How hard is it to just set the table? The pizza more than made up for the quirkiness!

Eggplant, Ricotta, Basil nom nom nom :)

*Usually Order from the Otto's in Yarmouth!* I am 110% a pizza snob. Growing up in Jersey City where pizzerias are on every corner (no joke) has led me to be this way. I'm used to New York style pizza and the Italian brick oven personal sized pizzas. I didn't expect much when I moved to Portland regarding pizza. It's simple to do, but so easy to mess up. Everyone ranted and raved about Otto's pizza. Considering it's a chain restaurant, I had extremely low expectations, but I still wanted to try it. Boy was I caught by surprise. I'm a carnivore - love meat, but I decided to go the eggplant, ricotta, basil route and holy cannoli - it was delicious. The sauce, the cheese, the texture - my taste buds were knocked for a loop. They didn't see it coming. I liked it so much that I finished half of a large pie on my own. What can I say, I like to keep my taste buds happy. I absolutely recommend Otto's. It's definitely a "must-try". It can get a little pricey after awhile, but I like to order it as a nice treat here and there. If you're in town, stop by and grab a slice - or just finish half a pie on your own :)

They were nice thick fry that was crispy on the outside and still soft and tender on the inside, and I think they were beer battered, which makes them even better. The Philly steak and cheese sandwich with a sprinkling of jalapeños on top was absolutely delightful. After talking to the waitress, I discovered that it's fairly new on their menu and there is a beer cheese sauce. I think she called it l, on the sandwich and it made for one of the best Philly steak and cheese sandwiches I've had in quite some time. The service was great. The atmosphere is great. The only thing that I struggled with here was the entire restaurant is freezing cold. They need more heaters in here, and then it would be a much more pleasant warm environment for my dinner versus cold. We ate here at the end of January right after a massive snowfall, and it would have been nice if it was toasty warm.

I ordered the Salmon power bowl. It had a good portion of salmon, flavorful greens, quinoa. Very filling!! Very delicious. I would order it again. Hubs & my BFF had the burger. It was a small patty. The flavor was good and very filling. My BFF's fries were cold and when our server came to check on us I had said "do you want hot fries?" Our server didn't offer to grab a new side (disappointing) and when we convinced her she did in fact need HOT fries (cause if not, why bother!?!), I had to go in to request. Overall, a good option. We enjoyed our meal. We got some recommendations from our server, even his fav roadtrip song/album. I recommend this spot! Good vibes for all!

My husband had chicken fingers, which just seemed like frozen & fried chicken tenders. Nothing special. My entree was a small spinach and wild mushroom specialty pizza. While the topping of caramelized mushrooms, spinach and Gorgonzola with a balsamic glaze drizzle was a good combo, the crust was very bland and did not have any flavor. Pizza is all about the crust, and I prefer a thick, chewy crust although I eat other types often. This crust was more like Greek style, but thinner. I would not go back for the pizza, which for a pizza place, is not ideal. I have had the wings in the past, which were good. The server was friendly. The staff was very friendly, though there was an hourlong wait for an indoor table (definitely make reservations!) or 10 minutes for outside (which was a little surprising given how many open tables there were). Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were super cool with some really amazing gardens outside in full bloom and then the more darkly lit, warm and cozy, and open concept with a great view of the kitchen team hard at work. I was the only one at the table to get a cocktail, to which I chose the blueberry lemon drop. It was really well balanced with a nice blueberry flavor without being overpowering. My wife got a merlot, which she enjoyed. The kids both enjoyed their chocolate milk and strawberry lemonade. Food wise we started with a caesar salad, which was good but pretty mild in flavor. It could have used a little more parm and either more pop to the dressing or just more of it. My wife got the (gluten free) baked focaccia and the lobster bisque for her dinner. She was melting over the focaccia (which I agree was the flavor bomb though I admit the gf bread was a little gummy - not abnormal for gf bread though and didn't really bother me). The lobster bisque she found equally delicious. I also found it quite tasty though did find it a little thinner on the mouthfeel than maybe normal. My MIL got the mussels that she said were really tasty and we found were locally sourced. I got the short rib. It was a large chunk of extremely tender meat with some absolutely delicious mashed potatoes. The gravy was pretty solid for it though I would have preferred it with a little more beefy flavor than maybe the wine. The carrots were a little disappointing, if I'm being honest. They were cut into vastly different sizes, which led to some majorly uneven cooking and even the smallest pieces were still much too firm - not crunchy but not really tender beyond the first quarter inch or so. It was almost like the were par cooked whole and then chopped up after. Definitely atypical and not really up my alley for carrots. Overall, aside from a couple very minor misses, this place was absolutely a winner and I'm absolutely getting some brick oven pizza next time!
