Otto must have read my review and fixed most of the issues I called out in my previous review. While the restaurant is usually crowded, my family has been able to get a table with little wait. (This may be due to the summer break so it may get overcrowded again in the fall). On my recent visit, the staff was very accommodating. While we still can't get half and half toppings, we were permitted to order a small pizza and slices for my daughter. Given her allergies, this makes the experience much more enjoyable since we are no longer restricted to plain cheese pizza. During our earlier visit, we were not allowed to order slices at our table, period. I still suggest that the restaurant try to focus on more experienced and customer focused service staff. The pizza itself has gotten better. The crust is crispier and has less of a yeasty flavor. The toppings are better too. read more

Never thought I would eat butternut squash with pizza, but it was BOMB. This place is good for trying unusual pizza. Not a 5 star though because we also spent a lot of our energy shooing away flies INSIDE the restaurant while trying to enjoy our fancy pizza. read more

For a Tuesday lunch, I thought my boyfriend and I were seated pretty quickly. Maybe it was because it was less than 24 hours after the incident at the marathon and people had work or wanted to stay home. There were eight special pizzas in rotation available for by the slice orders. I had the margherita and mushroom, bacon and Vidalia onion. Boyfriend ordered the mashed potato, bacon and scallion and I think the white bean, roasted tomato, herb and red flake. We both agreed it was nothing spectacular although he noted most of our slices were sauce less. The pizzas are thin and crunchy, the topping combos inventive, and the environment pretty nice minus Ronald McDonald's head looming over the dining area and guns drawn on the wall and aimed at our table. Oh and my glass has lipstick stains. Of course, my cool level headed boyfriend handled the situation very respectfully. read more

Otto Pizza is my absolutely favorite "fancy" pizza in the area. The crust is not thick and not thin. The ingredients are fresh and inventive, and the flavors are spectacular. The price is right, the service is good, and they certainly don't skimp on the toppings. EAT HERE. read more

THIS PIZZA IS AMAZING! I have lived btwn Kenmore and Coolidge for six years, and coming from CHicago, I can tell you there is NO GOOD PIZZA in Boston - until now! There are some North End places that have done it for me in the meantime (shoutout to Ernesto's) but this is my new place. I can tell you I will absolutely be eating here once a week. Went last night for a quiet dinner; tried to order pizza by the slice but could not at a table - which I anticipated when we asked. That ended up being fine, because the pizza is obviously better made to order than reheated slices. Sidenote - I have been a couple times for slices in the past and the service was always quick and friendly. I enjoyed it, but knew it would be better made to order, and having it brought from the oven to our table last night exceeded expectations! Can't wait for delivery!! We had the butternut squash / herbed ricotta / dried cranberry which was the favorite, and pulled pork / mango. Toppings on the later were a bit skimpy, but it was still an awesome pizza regardless. That crust is heaven. Great wine and beer selections as well. read more

Went out last night - a sunday, not much of a wait however there was 5 of us ( all adults about 5'10'' or taller) CRAMMED at a 4 person table in the middle of the traffic area. Very uncomftable, hot and no room to eat or feel comfortable. We ordered 3 pizzas, tortellini- really good but easily could make at home, chicken and spinach- DISCUSTING- the chicken was fatty and ALL DARK MEAT- I am sorry but spending 23 dollars on a pizza i expect it to be boneless, skinless WHITE meat not cheap shit... this pizza was terrible sweet potato pizza- really oily and much to be desired. big blogs of puree sweet potato not large fresh chunks like i expected. Brough home leftovers to my roomates and they threw it out, it was very gross.... sad to say this place gets 1 star... read more

Love me some amazing pizza and well Otto has amazing pizza! I was happy when they opened this spot as it's easy to have Sunday brunch here with friends. I love their pizza! I've tried their three-cheese tortellini; bacon, mashed potato and scallion; and the Zucchini, Summer Squash, Spinach - all very delicious! Just the right amount of sauce and toppings and not messy to eat. I appreciate their selection and would love to try others as well. Service was ok and prices aren't too bad. You can whole pies or certain slices not all whole pies have slices. read more

After a long day of moving, our party was starving and ready for some pizza and cold brews. OTTO did not disappoint. The crust was chewy and crisp- not soggy and able to hold up to the sauce and toppings. I have a friend with severe lactose intolerance so pizza isn't something we ever get together. Luckily there was a suggestion on the menu to order veggie pizzas without the cheese to make them vegan (why didnt I think of that sooner?!). I know...pizza without cheese is kind of sad...but I was happy that my friend was able to join us for lunch without being left out. We were really impressed by the pizza and I didnt miss the cheese at all! We ordered the veggie pizza with roasted red pepper, kalamata olive, and roasted garlic. We also added sausage to make it not vegan...but it was still dairy free! Service was also perfectly friendly and accommodating of our rather large group (nearly 10 people). Thanks OTTO! I'll definitely be back read more

When I first planned to go to Otto in Coolidge Corner with a group of 6, we were told the wait would be close to an hour, and it was 8:30pm on a Friday night, so we ended up going elsewhere. The next time I went was with a smaller group and we wisely went on a Monday night- wasn't too crowded and we were seated within a few minutes. We ordered the Ricotta & Basil pie, and the Meatloaf/Mashed Potato/Herbs pie. Definitely a lot of pizza for the 3 of us, but the combinations were unique and we enjoyed it. The food took about 30 minutes to come out, and our server was very friendly and helpful. There are a few other combos I'd like to try, so..until next time!! read more

Otto Pizza is based in Portland, Maine. They make a paper-thin, NY-style pizza. It's generally very good. But the pepperoni pizza was very greasy. It was so greasy that I couldn't enjoy it. And the cheese pizza isn't really cheese at all;it has a lot of tomato on it. And they leave the tomato skin on the tomato. I got a big piece of tomato skin stuck on my teeth. Not very attractive. But they have a variety of different pizzas. One even has an egg on it. I like Portland. I'm glad to see a Portland chain taking root in Massachusetts. read more

My go to place when I lived in Coolidge Corner for over a year. Had frequent late work shifts and by the time I got back to the area, Otto's would be the only place opened. Slices for $3 dollars may be a turn off to some people but the slices are definitely worth it in size and taste. My favorite is the mashed potato, bacon, and scallion or the spicy pulled pork. Only star deduction is that the service is hit and miss sometimes, sometimes they're super happy to see you and sometimes they look like you're the last person they want to see at the moment. Having withdrawals of otto's as I write this review, can't wait to be back. Oh yeah...and they have good beer...which is always a positive! read more

Its not as though the foods bad, but just terribly plain and under seasoned. I ordered a $7 Fennel salad and i get a plate of iceberg lettuce and some thin apples, I was like is this a joke? The pizza itself is totally under seasoned in the sauce, vegtables tasted watery and bland and cheese was bland. What an awful experience with such high expectations. Also no garlic powder...wtf? Not coming back. If I'm gona pay this kind of money I'd go to Figs read more

It was opening day when I went in here, so they were a little disorganized and it was clear they were doing some training while serving. But considering that, it was still a very solid experience! The Pepperoni was very nice, plenty of topping, decent amount of cheese and a nice hint of spice in the sauce. The Bacon/Mashed Potato/Scallion pizza was excellent, with just the right balance of each topping. The decor looks like it may have a few more finishing touches to go in, but it's clean and simple with a bit of old school funky at the bar. A slice was $3.50, which was a little pricey. But for that neighborhood it's not so bad. They have a little polishing to do on service and presentation, but I think this is going to be excellent competition for that other chain across the street from them! read more

Now one of my favorite pizza spots in the city. Thin, light crust and fresh ingredients. My favorite so far is the tomato and ricotta pie. Their sauce is just so flavorful and delicious. The bacon, mashed potato and scallion pizza is a very close second. I would solely return just for that pie. The combination of ingredients tastes incredible. Tried the spicy pulled pork and scallion pizza as well. Packed a lot of heat and while It was good, it just wasn't my favorite. My only complaint is that this is literally just a pizza place. That's the whole menu, minus like 3 or 4 salads. I was hoping for some fries or something to eat with my pizza but that's not an option. If they add some sides onto the menu and increase the variety of beers they have this place would get a 5 stars from me. read more

Good but expensive. This place is known to get packed since it opened not too long ago in Brookline. I thought their pizza was good but I dislike that their base cheese is asiagho instead of mozzarella. I would have preferred mozzarella because their topping selection is creative and interesting. I tried slices of the basil and feta, the pulled pork and mango, and bacon and mashed potatoes. I think the best was the pulled pork and mango. I would definitely suggest that to anyone purchasing a pie here. All in all, probably not a place I'd go back to if I had the choice. read more

Yes, the pizza is good. It is a bit different - topping combinations and crust with seeds. I like it. The special salad was decent - mozzarella and bacon bits. The meatballs were very good. I would have them again. The service was very attentive. Tables filled up quickly around lunch time. It was also nice to see the Ronald McDonald head up near the ceiling. I remember this place as the McDonalds way back when. The arch bricks in the architecture was cool, but I think shades are needed to keep the sun from beaming in at tough angles. read more

Took me a while to get here. And I was greeted by cold beer. Are you kidding me? When we get the call that there's a meteor headed for Earth, many people will choose to be with family I'm sure. I'll be at Ottos Brookline (maybe I'll invite the family along). read more

Pizza at this place is pretty good, my favorite: eggplant, ricotta & basil. The waiting time was about 15min, while the place was almost full. Its nice that you can look into the kitchen. I didn't really like the mozzarella salad because they put too much salad and just a few mozzarella. However, I will be back for the pizza! read more

OTTO - Pizza Near Me - Brookline, Massachusetts

Come here about once a month and I'm never disappointed. Just great pizza from a place that isn't full of itself or pretentious or overpriced. You may have a short wait on a Friday or Saturday night - leave your number and go to the bookstore next door it's almost a bonus to have a 15 minute wait. Pizza and drinks for $30 - waitstaff is always great - tons of variety with offerings you may not expect to like but end up loving. Personal favorite is the butternut ricotta pizza - don't be an idiot by getting a plain cheese. Best bet is to get 2 smalls - only a couple bucks more than a large and your palette will thank you. It's all lethal. read more

OTTO - Yes im eating in on the street - Pizza Near Me - Brookline, Massachusetts

yesterday's pizza tasted good, until i was nearly finished with the entire pizza and accidentally bit into a piece of chicken... on a vegetarian pizza. i haven't eaten meat in years, so my body reacted very strongly to that one bite and i ended up throwing up in the bathroom. most of that pizza i paid for didn't even end up in my stomach, but down the toilet. i didn't say anything to the waitress because i was furious and didn't want to take out my anger on her. but whoever was making that pizza needs to be more careful. i felt sick for hours after leaving the restaurant. read more

Very unique flavors and feels so gourmet, but a great price. The only downside is that the slices don't taste as fresh as fresh-baked pies. Best flavor is the butternut squash, ricotta, and dried cranberry. So yummy! read more

With quality ingredients and innovative toppings it is hard to screw up pizza. I love the trend in pizza that has made the way for exotic combinations and Otto is definitely one of the more creative entrants into the pizza game. With all that being said I was a little overwhelmed. Overall the pizza was good but I think the expectations were too high. I had heard people recommend it by saying that it was vastly superior to Upper Crust and I just didn't get that impression. You won't be disappointed you gave it a shot, just don't expect to be floored with amazement. read more

My friend and I were starving and stopped by Otto. The best decision I have ever made. The slices are huge, thin and crispy. The crust was buttery and delicious. I can't stop raving how great this place is. Everything was fresh and tasteful. My margarita slice was very tasteful, while my friends mash potato, bacon, scallion slice was equally amazing. Employees are extremely helpful and sweet. They have another Otto in Maine in which I will visit once I get up there. The pizza is just orgasmic and I wish soo badly they had one in New York! read more

Delicious pizza place in a nice setting and good beer options. The pizza topping combinations that Otto offers is very innovative, and it's always fun to try new flavors when you go. Crust is thin and crispy. We had the mashed potato, bacon, and chive pizza and the butternut squash, ricotta, and cranberry pizza. Had high hopes for the mashed potato pizza since that is their bestseller, but it was a bit dry when it arrived at our table. Would have been amazing if there was a bit of sauce or if it hadn't been cooked so long. The butternut squash one was delicious, and was a good option for fall / winter weather. Service was great! read more

Great spot for pizza in Coolidge Corner, although it can get busy during peak hours. I like a lot of their topping combinations, and the pies always have a great balance of flavors. The crust is a bit chewy, but I like that consistency. I did get the Caesar salad once and found it to be lackluster, so I would stick to the pizza. read more

If I can eat a lot of pizza without putting on weight, I would come to Otto everyday! I've been to Otto 3 times and I've tried Mashed Potato, Bacon and Scallion, Chicken and Basil, Mushroom, Bacon and Vidalia Onion, and Apple, Bacon and Red Onion pizzas. We tried both dine-in and take-out and both are goooood. There is usually a long line during weekend, so be patient or go hang out at Peet's (love their coffee!). read more

Loved it. The pizza is delish. Esp the cauliflower mushroom pizza. The service is great and the wines for the price are pretty good! There was a Rioja which was so smooth. The bartender who was also our server was pretty great; friendly and courteous. The service was quick and to be honest the vibe of the place is very nice. A lot of couples here more than groups and families. Definitely going back. read more

Picked up a large cheese pizza from Otto last Friday. I recognize that they have many fancier preparations on the menu but cheese is the standard bearer in our house. I should offer that thus was my family's first experience with Otto Pizza. We formerly gave all of our take-out pizza business to Upper Crust on Tremont St in the Southend. We gave up on them recently because the pizza has gotten so bad in recent months, but I digress. The Kids loved the pizza and the crust. (Which is a first) and so did I. Even the babysitter couldn't resist trying a piece even though she told me she wasn't going to dine with us. She was impressed as well. The Coolidge Corner location is right next to my office so I think we found a new go-to pizza spot. Nice job Otto. read more

Great selection of interesting pizzas. I particularly enjoy the white bean/spinach/garlic and the bacon/mashed potato. Though the food is delicious, Otto is a bit expensive for pizza, with one of their specialty pies running about $20 for a large. Of note, they do deliver, which is a rarity for higher quality food. Overall, worth a visit. read more

My friend who isn't gluten free suggested this place as our post film dining and discussion venue. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My friend ordered the mashed potato pizza with a healthy side salad. I opted for the caramelized Vidalia onions with sausage. My pizza was gluten free with no cheese. Let's just say that I have already suggested that we go back there this upcoming weekend. read more

We came here for dinner last week and could not be happier! The service is amazing, drinks are good and pizza is outstanding! We had the ricotta and red sauce and the salami, tomato and scallion. My favorite will always be the potato and scallion, but the ricotta and basil is my new love. I am so glad Otto is back, and would go here every day if I could! read more

Pizza was pricey and it took way too long to make especially since it wasn't that busy the day we went. Plus the hostess there was a total b****. If she's going to judge every customers that comes in and give poor customer services based on how they look, she should just quit and do something else. Extremely rude and condescending. Would not waste my hard earned money at this place. Definitely not worth the wait and most likely won't come back.. read more

Maybe I should try it again, but... We went an hour early to make a reservation. They told us that some people could make reservations but (for some reason) we couldn't (because it was a Friday night.) We went back and they said it would be 15 minutes for the next table to leave. An hour passed and we still didn't have a table. It would have been better had the host not pointed out that the table they had seated before (which arrived AFTER we did) knew the manager... how rude. So, after waiting at the bar for close to an hour, we went next door to Osaka for hibachi and it was a 5-star experience! read more

I'm not going to waste your time and write a long review, because if you look at the pictures and quickly glance and the comments below you are going to notice one thing, people are crazy about this place! Ottos is exactly what Boston needed and that is a great pizza place that excels over any other pizza in Boston. This is the best slice of pizza I've ever had. The sauce to cheese ratio is very even and balanced. The crust is thin and crispy but not overly crunchy and this place has an amazing variety of toppings!! Butternut Squash, Ricotta & Cranberry, Pulled Pork and Mango and a Ricotta Basil that beats any cheese pizza you have ever had. A small pizza is 10 bucks and 16 inch is 15 bucks. If you want to sit down at a table you have to order a whole pizza. If you want a slice you can sit at the bar or booths they have along the window and do some fun people watching. read more

My online order of 2 pizzas took exactly 2 hours. Calling the restaurant earned me a "awww we're sorry", and the attitude of the delivery guy... he acted like as if I was the one who brought his food 1 hour late. I will admit the pizza wasn't that bad. It was ice cold, of course. Looking at other reviews, I can see that this place has issues with service. This place is pretty mediocre. Came here after playing some games at the Knight Moves Cafe a few blocks away. My girls and I ordered 2 large pizzas; a margherita and one that had pear, arugula and cheese. Both pizzas were very basic, there was nothing extraordinarily great about the flavors. Plus points are: Service is great and location is also good. read more

After hearing much about this place around harvard square I decided to give it a try. I got one plain slice because I believe pizza is judged on it's simplicity. All I can say is what a waist of calories. There was absolutley NO flavor. The sauce had no flavor and you can tell the cheese is also of the lowest quality. I sprinkled oregano and salt thinking that may help but nothing. After two bites I threw it away. Theres just a lot of hype here for nothing.
