The service was bit slow but we always had at least 8-10 people so that takes time. For appetizers, we tried these two pizzas. I had the first one and it was really good. Like a bruschetta but on a pizza crust. Good tomato flavor. BRUSCHETTA PIZZA fresh tomato slices, basil, feta, olives, onion, garlic, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar (Medium only) CHILLI PIZZA tomato sauce, chilli, olive oil and mozzarella For entrees, one day I had a salad with prosciutto and barata cheese. It came with some toast points which were nice and crispy. The meat and cheese were tasty. Had a nice balsamic dressing on it. The 2nd day, I had the RISOTTO (of the day). That day it was a sausage risotto with green olives. It was very tasty. Creamy but not heavy. Tender rice. Overall this was nice place for lunch. There is a not a lot near my office so this is a good pick.

Food tastes alright, good service and the waiting times aren't too long. Still... I can't rate it a 4. If it wasn't because it is the restaurant linked to the hotel I'm staying at I can't see myself going: 'Oh! Let's go to Fuorno!' Not only it's near nothing in particular, but it's not easy to get to without a car. Not worth the effort. That said, I would give it a 3.5 if I could because it's good for takeaway. Portions are big and it saved me a few nights when getting back to the hotel after working late.

I get that dress codes and appropriate behaviour is expected and courteous in fancier joints but please, have a little faith that your customers understand social conventions rather than spelling it out like we're idiots. Mezza Via however has rules not for the customer but for themselves. And what a testament that is to their mission for greatness! Only the finest Italian "00" flour. Only Italian whole peeled tomatoes. Only Italian Fior Di Latte and Buffalo Mozzarella. All pizzas must be hand-stretched to order. (no rolling pins or dough rollers) No pizza will ever be pre-made. All pizza makers must be trained in Italian technique. And it pays off in the way of delightfully thin and crusty pizza bases with fluffy crusts. Mezza Via sticks to the Italian tradition of doing things simply but well, not overloading their pizzas with mounds of toppings. The Margherita DOP is without a doubt the best I've tasted outside of Italy, and the only place where the buffalo mozzarella hasn't been overcooked to the point where it's yellow and rubbery and you can no longer tell that it's fresh mozzarella. No, it's still white and moist and glorious! The table next to us almost had me in fits of jealousy when I saw their 2 metre pizza get carried to their table like a roman emperor. It looked beautifully cooked with nary a soggy crust in sight, which can be all too commonplace in other pizzerias that serve long pizzas and fail in the mammoth task of cooking such a large pizza properly. I'll be back again with a larger group and a stretchier pants.

I came with a group of 6 and we naturally had to order the metre long pizza ($62) al metro, meaning it could be split into 3 different types of pizza out of their 15+ choices so there's something for everyone. Before we did that we ordered some starters; the salt + pepper calamari with eggplant (this was awesome,) buffalo mozzarella salad, and sausage on toast (the name escapes me.) The entreés were good, though portions on the small side...but good start. Onto the pizza...I'm not sure what I expected, but I think I ate a bit of the hype machine because the pizza was just OK for me. The crust was crispy, dough was fluffy, but the pizza itself was a little too flimsy...flimsy enough you had to eat with two hands and the toppings fell off quite easily, so I found it more annoying than enjoyable to eat. I need to come here again to solidify my opinion, but for the time being, if you live near the CBD I wouldn't make the trek out here as there are other places to go. Order a small pizza on the side if you have 6 people, as the metre long will be gone in seconds and you may still be hungry.

This restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and the waiters are generally very very nice. However, the food was just not up to par with the prices. We ordered a pizza crust that wasn't actually a pizza crust, it was basically a plain pizza (anyone can just google what the dish pizza crust is suppose to be), a scampi risotto that tasted like the proportions of the ingredients involved were x50 in ratio and a blue crab pappardelle. My pappardelle was so bad I don't even know how to explain it. Imagine, a dish so swamped in sauce that a pasta dish, that had once probably had the garnishes and original flavors of a blue crab pappardelle, tasted like 5 sticks of butter. I have had this dish at various locations throughout Sydney's dining scene--from low end to high end-- and never have I tasted such a poor version of the dish. If this type of flavoring is your style, however, then this place is very very compatible for you!

(If you don't believe me you can check google maps - it doesn't lie) We called at 6.40pm to book a table as its always best to book a table, was told they can sit us down at 8pm? Sure why not, you can always go to the pub next door (Hunters Hill Hotel) to have a drink or two and visualize which delicious flavours you will be eating shortly. Our table was not ready until 8.10pm but we were happy to wait instead of sit outside as it was freaking cold! Place was still packed and loud at this hour. Between the 4 of us we decided a metre long pizza was in order. The 3 flavours chosen was: Quattro Formaggi (San Marzano Tomato, fior di latte, ham, sausage, mild salami, hot salami& basil) Diavola (San Marzano Tomato, fior di latte, hot salami, olives & basil and the (Fior di latte, prosciutto parma, rocket, parmesan & basil on a white base). Pizza came out in under 10mins! Perfecto! All flavours we superb! The Diavolo was spicy hot! I could only have one slice, 4 cheese pizza amazing and the best would be the proscuitto. Staff are friendly, efficient and loud (yes majority are Italian). If you have yet to try Via Napoli - I suggest you get on it quick smart young man/lady!

If we were having wine & glasses were provided, I wouldn't have an issue but we had beers without a glass or bottle opener in sight! The service is fast (we waited longer for the bill than we did our food) & friendly, the food is yum. Definitely worth a visit.
