Great place for used baby clothing. Most of the items are gently used and in very good condition. Once in a while you find a garment that has hidden stains, however most items are stain free. Great value for, considering how quickly infants and toddlers out grow their clothes. read more

I have been shopping at Other Mothers for a majority of my two children's clothes, and I am consistently impressed by the quality, adorable clothing in excellent, usually like-new condition at truly amazing bargain prices. There is a great assortment of brands and styles, with large holiday sections throughout the year as well. It is very enjoyable perusing the well-organized racks for clothing gems! My older child gets excited every time she hears we are going to Other Mothers. The owner and staff are always friendly and helpful. I like the concept of this store but after my visit today I will not be going back. The first problem when I walked in was two of the employees revisited not wearing masks and just didn't seem to care. One of the employees that was not wearing a mask was talking about how her mom has covid and how crazy her mother is so that seems like a really great person to have around especially in a store where small children under the age of five could be present and are not eligible to be vaccinated. I tried to ignore it and had picked out a few items for my son when waiting at the register I saw the woman in graylong sleeves and black pants pulling down her mask actively sticking her finger up her nose and digging for nose oysters. She then just kept going right back to touching clothes products and children's toys. I had already been in the process of paying for my items so I just took what I paid for already and walked out. This place is just unbelievable they are extremely picky and selective on clothing which doesn't really make sense because they do have clothes on the racks that have alot of stains or a holes. And majority of the time the toys are damaged or don't work. Don't get me wrong certain things are good like socks or shoes but they are being picky knowing children grow out of clothes or they dirty them. Even a very small small unnoticeable stain they won't take it. But like I mentioned they have clothes on the floor that have stains and toys that are damaged and missing stuff to it. certain staff aren't nice either. As a new mom, I see cute little outfits all the time that I want to buy. However, everything is always so expensive and the outfits are only worn a few times before the baby outgrows then! Other Mothers is a great store. I try to go here whenever possible to get my baby her outfits. The clothes are reasonably priced with a large selection and pretty well organized by size. I've also noticed when the holidays come along, there is a wide variety of holiday clothes. Recently I just bought my babies Christmas outfit which she will wear for one second during her upcoming holiday photo shoot. It is very cute and only cost $6. I normally like this place , but this last experience was too much. I brought in a donation and the lady was very rude and said I "need to wash the clothes." The clothes had been sitting in my house for a month maybe , but they were definitely cleaned beforehand so the accusation was just shocking. And her attitude towards me was quite rude. I was with my son , so I didn't make a big deal. But she made me feel uncomfortable and to the point where I probably won't go back. It's too bad because I did like them. We had been attempting to find a home for our twin stroller. We were able to get a reasonable price for the stroller and ensure another family could benefit from it. I started going to this store when it first opened off of San Mateo and it was messy, unorganized, rude owner and staff, and it does smell unpleasant. Don't bother trying to get a good value for consignment because they absolutely will not. Never have. Donating items to a shelter that desperately needs the items is a much better choice and you don't have to deal with the owners or staff. Before coming into the store I read other reviews, I wanted so bad to prove the negative reviews wrong. Needless to say I should've saved myself the trip. It is very messy and unorganized. The staff are very rude. I waited in line to check out for over 15 mins. There were multiple employees, some in the back talking and laughing in the fitting room, two of them sorting bags of clothes, and three others petting a small dog AND only one at checkout. They had a very small selection of maternity clothes. They had thousand of other clothes/shoes you can purchase at Walmart, Ross, and other brand name stores (non-maternity). I wouldn't think about purchasing used cribs, bassinets, baby swings, high chairs, car seats, etc. I watched an employee struggle with a portable crib as she was showing a costumer how to "properly" lock the safety into place. In the end, I did find two nursing shirts but did not purchase them. I put it the counter and left. I do not recommend this place. read more

Low standards. The store is full of extremely used items. Most of the clothes have pilling, fading, stains, etc. The baby gear appears extremely used with scuff marks, stains and missing pieces. The prices are too expensive for the condition of the items they are selling. Finding a gently used item in this store is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. I do not like their trade in process. As soon as you drop off items to sell your items are immediately priced and put on the shelf for the public to purchase. You get whatever value the store decides to give you for your items whether you like it or not. They use large plastic bins and stuff them full of items for you to purchase. This makes sense for small items like socks but their bins are extremely tightly packed and overflowing with items. You must dig around in these bins to find items that you are seeking to buy. This can be time consuming and the amount of items in the bins are overwhelming. It also makes the store look messy and the bins can easily become disorganized. Overall, I would recommend purchasing new over shopping here. read more

Unfortunately I have numerous poor experiences at the store. I've been gas lit by the employees, they have made fun of me as if I can't hear them, and they've also made fun of my child while we were in the store. I think that's absolutely ridiculous not only is it bad customer service but it's extremely poor morals amongst the employees and I've watched the employees turnover over the past ~2 years. It is almost a consistent problem even if there's new employees. I've had numerous things disappear, and only one situation was resolved and the item was returned to me. I really don't understand by what standard they decide what they're going to trade and what they're not going to trade because I brought things there that are brand new with tags on them still and they won't take it or I'll bring something that is a set and it's unworn brand new but it doesn't have a tag and they won't take it or they'll take like one part of it like that doesn't make sense, why wouldn't you take the whole set it's a whole outfit or a set. That's really confusing. Especially when then I've gone through the store like I've gone through every single rack and I see the selection and I've brought in items that were obviously better quality than what they have on the rack but they tell me that they're not good enough quality. Like I've seen stuff that has rips and stains on it on the rack and it's smart at like $4-$7. That's kind of hypocritical and ridiculous. I've also been told that they won't accept like one part of a swimsuit for example like if you have a mix and match type of swimsuit and you bring it in, they won't take it because they think it's part of a set and they don't accept that. But you can go back to the swimmer section and clearly see that they have mix and match options back there as well. Their actions and their words don't line up and for me that's a huge red flag. I've also gone through the shoes and oftentimes I see shoes marked up really high like between $10-$20~ and the outside might look okay or acceptable but if you feel inside like there's no soul left in the shoe. As someone who's worked in quality control for numerous years I'm very confused at how they operate this trade and on what standard. I've also seen them look at clothes in a trade and say that there are men's clothing when they're definitely not and they'll say that they don't accept men's clothing. That's just confusing because it wasn't men's clothing so I don't know if that's just a lack of knowledge or experience or what. I feel like it happening consistently makes me think that there's something else going on. Especially when I've been harassed in the store before, it makes me feel like my trades are getting discriminated against. I brought in a pair of platforms that were about $50 and I understand like that they're probably going to get resold for about 20 bucks but getting like 25 cents off of them is actually ridiculous and I regret it 100%. They say that they want or only take quality items but I haven't seen that reflected on the racks . I had extremely high hopes for this store because it's women owned and operated but I have been disappointed time and time again and I feel like enough second chances have been given. I'm really not a fan. I'm sorely disappointed in their behavior because I don't approve of women tearing down other women and women tearing down children. And the fact that this has been going on for 2 to 3 years and the employees have changed over that time. And it just keeps happening, the same types of people keep getting hired, tells me that there is an internal company moral issue or moral judgment issue. I would also like to talk about the children's section because I've had to go through it numerous times. I really hate to say this with some of it's really overpriced and the things that are not overpriced, I have found that the elastic in the pants for example is no longer functional like it's very old and dried out and the tops or dresses that you find that are a reasonable price for resale are often times not a reasonable price for the condition other in, and that includes stains and holes. Again this leads me to be confused about how they process the trades. As far as the children shoes, I have seen them overpriced every single time. I think once I found a pair of shoes that were brand new with the tags on them at a reasonable price and they were brand new so I didn't mind paying like $9 for them but 13 or $15 for a pair of shoes that look decently worn in the soles almost worn out is absolutely ridiculous. You can easily go to Walmart and get a brand new pair of shoes for that price and even less. Overall I'm not impressed and I'm thoroughly disappointed with the behavior of the employees. read more

I'm a people-pleasing millennial, so I gave this store quite a few chances before getting completely fed up. I've had such a bad experience the past few months that I wouldn't recommend anyone to visit this store. First, I have purchased many items only to get home and find them damaged. I've encountered stains, tears, missing buttons. They do not check for quality of clothing beyond a quick glance. Additionally, they have been shady with their consignment process. I brought in a bag of clothing and shoes. When I came in a few days later, they gave me my offer. It was too low (this is completely my opinion, not a ding at them), but they had already put my clothes and shoes on the floor. I had no choice but to accept the offer - it isn't really an "offer", once you leave your clothes, there's no guarantee you'll get them back even if you disagree with the offered price. The final straw for me was when I dropped off half off a bag and waited in store. I was quoted a wait of 35 minutes, and it ended up taking well over an hour, around 1.5 hours. I checked in multiple times during this window, so it wasn't like my bag just got lost. The employees were taking personal calls, running around the store etc. I'm not sure if they're understaffed, but they still could have offered a realistic time estimate, so that I could run other errands. I heard that this store used to be just wonderful and honestly their prices are not too bad (if you don't get a damaged piece), but I can't in good faith suggest that anyone visits or consigns here. read more

It seems as though they just give nothing for your trades anymore. I am completely disappointed. Awkward and sad experience. My coworker referred me to this place and I was glad to donate my things but as soon as you walk in you are NOT welcomed and the people working there just stared at me like a lost puppy. I donated 6 bags of baby clothes with a mixture of some adult clothes along with some toys and kid pillows and not once did anyone ask to help me unload nor thank me for donating after I finished unloading. They were very focused on finding the "higher end clothes" to sell, tossing everything else aside and not paying attention to customers at all. If it wasn't for the donations that people kindly drop off for you all to sell you wouldn't be around. The only GOOD thing I have to say about the place was that the work named "Lacoy"(SP) was the ONLY friendly person in that store and he was a very kind when I had called and spoke to him over the phone. All the ladies working there seemed like they hated their "job" and people. After a customer had asked a legitimate question to one of the girls up front and left, a girl jokingly said " people are f**king weird" to her coworkers while customers were around including me and I just looked at them disappointed and walked out. Hope my daughter's stuff go to some good people and not get scammed by these greedy looking mongrels who don't appreciate donations. read more

10 star business. The owner is adorable/very sweet/kind and the workers are also nice. This business is amazing in its new location. There are racks and racks and racks of good clean lightly used or new clothing at very reasonable prices plus toys, books, diapers, and assorted other items needed for parents and women. I go there usually once a week. They go far beyond any other thrift store in their generosity to the larger community. The store is ALWAYS clean and well organized. There are no broken toys or stained clothing. Yes they are particular in accepting donations, but they should be particular because they only want the best on the racks. They get a LOT of items in for trade and they HAVE to sort them into the best for you to look at and/or buy. It is not like the Goodwill or Salvation Army where you have to really LOOK at items because of the stains/tears/etc. All of the times I have been in there the workers are friendly and hard working dealing with all of the inflow of items. They limit the inflow of items in clothing to one kitchen trash can size bag a day plus larger items like children's furniture. Check this place and support a great store that benefits not just the shoppers, but that helps other non-profits as well! read more

-OTHER MOTHERS, cheated me out of some clothing and couldnt find my bag to give me back the stuff they didnt buy, so i dont think ill be taking atuff there anymore (this is the 2nd time they have done this to me, its a total mess in their back room that they had ME "a customer" look through the bags to find my returns, which was not right, also if they do that theg sure at least give MORE credit if they have customers looking for their bags on their own, it was not professional at all, i loved going here til recently when i was told i have 24-48 hours for them to be looked through, A DAMN bag, then i have 1-4 days to pick up the remainding items yet they wont call you when the bag is done and looked through so if you miss it by 5 mins your stuff could be donated when you can easily give to someone else IN NEED, i swear the last 3 years ive been going to them, it has been a dissaster but within a month they "lost" two of my bags that they were suppose to give back to me and because it was before the 4th day mark. Sooo ill just be on here giving things away instead (FACEBOOK MOM OR SAHM OR SAHD PROGRAMS), They dont deserve my business. Esp with them saying "you need to wash that or clean that" yet they have WORSE items on the floor, they have a stroller that doesnt unfold for $59.99? GROss? Cribs for for $59.99 to $89.99 that are scuffed and wabbly? It is not worth it. They just do things by presentation, but if you ask to make sure something works? THEY WONT GIVE YOU THE OPTION, and if you take it home and they know it doesnt work, they tell you its non refundable, I swear i loved that place til the last few months. I am a kids resale shopper coming from San Diego that had so many shops to pick from. I was surprise not to see so many in albquerque. I really like this store because they have bigger sizes in clothing. My girls are 5 and 10 so I don't have babies. The staff was nice the prices normal for a resale shop. The only reason I gave three stars and not four is because this stores organized the clothing by pants , dresses, shirts, pjs etc it takes longer to go to each section for what you want and then go to the size you want. I wish the owner would just put all the clothing in the same section by size it would make shopping faster and I would most likely go more. Over all I enjoyed this shop and will be back. read more

I absolutely do not recommend this place. I dropped of two doll houses, several costumes, and a big bag of toys,many clothes at the store. All items were in like new condition but the store priced them for only $27 total. I asked for an itemized list, which they refused to provide. At that point I let them know that I would like to take back my items, and suddenly they told me everything has already been donated. I was later told that items are donated 4 days after being dropped off, but no such information was conveyed to me in the beginning - I was instead told that I can retake my items any time. Finally, when I asked for the $27 in cash, they told me that it would be $17 if I want to be paid in cash. I am furious and disappointed with this experience. I will never return to this store and would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

When Other Mothers was by Burlington Coat factory although crowded it was more reasonable. On numerous occasions I bought items from them & brought in items for credit. Always had good deals I was excited they were moving to a larger store. When I went to new location by TJMaxx I was very disappointed We brought in baby clothes for credit all almost new & ALL cleaned & a bassinet also cleaned. Was told not acceptable because bassinet had a mark on edge from rubbing against something ( I rubbed off with my finger) & took home. & donated to Joy Junction When we returned to pick up what they didn't need it was in a back room so cluttered it took 1/2 hr to find the bag. As we waited for the girl to find it we looked around. My grandson wanted this toy that new would have come in a container of 10 pieces for a 1.99 Other Mothers 1 piece & had it marked @$1.50. The toys are filthy I bought a play mat for my newest 3 mo old grandson still in box get home and all the pieces are missing only thing in box was the mat. Called and was put on forever hold 4 times. ( took the loss) I bought a little carry bag with strings to use when I go to park with dogs $2.50 I get home to wash it & notice it full of cigarette burn holes on inside ( my bad for not checking better) their bad for not checking at all. Pricing is a bit high for second hand. I used to recommend but not after 1/2 dozen bad experiences. Now I just donate to St Vincent DePaul or Joy Junction. This is a resale shop for children's clothes/accessories and adult women's clothing/accessories. It's easily located in the Burlington plaza by Lovelace hospital. They buy clothes seasonally, and you get store credit for them. Furniture, you can get cash for if you want instead of store credit. They have a military discount - ask for it! We've had good luck buying and selling here. Be sure to do your own inspection of zippers, seams, etc. Their loyalty program sends out promo texts, coupons, and BOGOs. Yeah, have to give one star. While we found some cute baby cloths the service was terrible at the counter. The cashier, MAR, was rude, pulled the hangers off almost ripping the garments, was tossing them into a pile and no folding, just piled it up and didn't offer a bag.
