This is a well stocked deli with a large menu and consistently delicious food. Their sandwiches are perfection and I eat them for dinner at least twice a week. My absolute favorite is the Bad Boy, with the Chicken Cordon Bleu coming in as a close second. If I'm starving, I can eat an entire hero solo; the nice thing is, if I'm only moderately hungry, it's large enough to split with another person. They have a decent variety of snacks (chips, candy, ice cream, frozen pizza, etc.), soups, basic cleaning supplies, as well as a small selection of fresh produce and vegetable platters/veggie dips. You can definitely go there to grab a few last minute items if you're having a small gathering or if you just need snacks for your evening in. Their beer selection is pretty impressive; overall, Othello's just has a better supply of everything than you'd expect from a local deli. Super disappointed in this spot. It has been my regular go to for a while now when it comes to picking up snacks, sandwiches, necessary items or ice cream, but they are refusing to require people to wear masks inside the store despite the State mandate. The past several times I have visited j have been incredibly uncomfortable with how people just walk in and hang out waiting for sandwiches - no mask, inside their small establishment. Great selection very clean and organized BUT the coffee is so watered down I can barely taste a thing. Stuck inside with two babies and desperately needed a boost, ordered a bunch of stuff just for the purpose of coffee and I'm pretty bummed out. I love this place. I have been coming here for years, and will continue to do so. They make amazing sandwiches, probably the best mozzarella sandwich I have ever had. They make it EXACTLY the way I ask, and I am a picky eater :). The place is usually very busy, looks like the flow of customers and the string of orders never stops. Yet, people working there are always friendly, always have a smile for you, and make you feel like you are important, even when you are just one among several waiting for their food. And the wait is not long. The guys behind the counter really know efficiency! Othello's is also very clean. A perfect bacon egg & cheese is almost a competition for some local delis and bodegas. This is my local go-to for that BEC. Fairly bigger and much cleaner than most of the other delis in the area. They have a small produce section and plenty of beer options. They're also Yankee fans which is refreshing for me living in the heart of Queens and a 5 mins drive from Citi Field. read more

I have been coming to this place since before they moved to their current location. In the past few years the quality has gone down drastically. I order the same thing 1-2 times a week in the morning - two eggs on roll with cheese and black pepper. Getting what I order is hit and miss, even when I am the only customer in the deli so I know I got my order not someone else's. The price also varies each and every time. Two days ago I paid $2.50. Last week I paid $3.75. The week before $3.00. On top of everything else, Fox News is always blasting in the background. I get that it is the owners prerogative on what to have on the TV, but it is very loud and obnoxious. For me it was the final straw. I now walk two blocks out of my way - around the owners truck with the license plate "Juice Dr" which is always parked in the crosswalk and around the owner smoking right outside the door - to the other deli. read more

I have now ordered twice from Othello's through seamless and I have not been disappointed. They're prices are decent and every thing is fresh and a decent portion. The mozzarella sticks are awesome and are a must get. So far I've gotten a chicken wrap, grilled cheese and a corn muffin all delicious! Delivery took an average time and I would say quicker than most delivery in Astoria. They also take the time to read the notes you put on the seamless to adjust your order if needed. This deli is pretty solid if you go in to order. However, if you are ordering online for pick up, they ALWAYS mess up. Either they forget things from the order or they say they never received the order. So you'll go to pick up the order and wind up waiting an extra 15 minutes. Management should step up their game because other than that, the food is good! read more

Othello is aways open and even has a grocery aisle which is great as I tend to forget to buy ingredients at the supermarket. I can usually go to Othello's and pick it up! Rude. Over priced. Ordered a sandwich for pickup. Was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. 40 minutes later they still hadn't started it. And it was way more than was listed on line. Was told to get over it. Take it or leave it. I left it. Went to a deli a few blocks down that made a delicious sandwich with boar's head for significantly cheaper & significantly nicer service. Removing a star because my girlfriend and I used to get good sandwiches here all the time but a couple of months ago the sandwiches got progressively sloppier and not as tasty. I got a steak & cheese, that was almost impossible to eat because the steak was so chewy. We got paninis that weren't hot. Excellent neighborhood spot. It's clean, has a fantastic and extensive menu selection with the best sandwiches around. My personal favorite is the Sinatra: fried eggplant, prosciutto, mozzarella, red peppers on a hero - get it, it's phenomenal! It can be a bit pricy, sandwiches are $7.50 upwards, but for a quality deli in NYC that prepares your food quickly every time, it's worth it. Only some small drawbacks, it usually closes around midnight weekdays and before 2am weekends for the late night cravings. They also charge you a fee for using a credit card and the minimum is $10, so bring cash. Still very worth it, it's the best deli in the neighborhood and one of the best I've experienced in the city. read more

There rolls stink! Good sandwich's but you have to get it on a hero or a wrap. The rolls are dry and plain and literally ruin the sandwich.

Othello's is pretty solid. Offers a lot of different options for food along with some extras that other corner stores don't typically have. Examples, Fresh vegs / fruits, deli rolls, large selections of drinks, etc. Cold cut sandwiches are on point - can't really go wrong with any the options. Boars head is used and the cold cuts move fast resulting in a very fresh and high quality sandwich. Their hot lunch sandwiches are suspect to me. Tried a few different chicken cutlet sandwiches the result was basically the same - half way in, I trashed it. Just seems like the cutlets were old or frozen or both. As other mentioned before, its not open 24 hours but its pretty close. Late night ordering (11pm+) can be interesting. Most of the time they are out of the basics after a certain time so you maybe surprised when you get home and find something complete different in the order. Breakfast is breakfast. I find the b-fast sandwiches to be middle of the road. I have friends that demand that their breakfast sandwiches are in their top 3 ever. read more
