I looked for some single-serve dinner on reddit and hit up restaurants nearby, but as it was last minute most places had limited options. I talked to my mom (who used to live in the US but then moved back to Japan) and she recommended checking out the local deli so I did - and I hit jackpot at Othello's Deli! I felt awkward asking for the Thanksgiving plate because I was by myself, but the guy at the Deli was super happy to get the food ready for me. He enlightened me with background story of his Thanksgiving food - that there are many families that come in last minute to grab like eight plates from here and he went through 35 turkeys this year to prepare the food! He assured me that I'm going to love his food, and I did. Unfortunately they ran out of mashed potato by the time I was there (around 5:30pm), but they made up by adding extra stuffing and the sweet potato. The food was a little on the salty side but it was totally acceptable and worth it. The plate was $20, which was the most reasonable dinner I could find around the neighborhood. The stuffing and the sweet potato was amazing. I'm so excited thinking about the leftovers I have right now. I'm so grateful that Othello's was there when I was coveting Thanksgiving food! I hope they keep it up. I heard good things about their sandwiches too so I'll try that next time.

They are 2 separate storefronts, same owner. The grocery store is definitely my number 1 go-to for fresh fruits and veggies (rarely see stale offerings) and other standard groceries. (dairy, meats, some international products, etc). I think they have the freshest produce in the area (better than Natural Frontier market). They are priced more reasonably than a Food Cellar, or competitively with Urban Market (which is a Key Food co-op- but better than Key Food) but it's the freshness that is my deciding factor. The cashiers are friendly- and I have to increase a star rating for a cashier today because she told a jerk customer in not so many words that just putting items on the counter (and then proceeds to do her shopping) does not allow her to jump a line ahead of others who considerately waits on line to check-out. The "not so many words" was simply, "you have to get on line over there." Thank you for maintaining order and fairness because jerks will be jerks unfortunately. The deli section offers one of the best grilled cheeseburgers in the neighborhood and I occasionally like to get breakfast egg sandwiches and fresh squeezed orange juice. You will find the total bill can be quite lofty if your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Their large bibimbap or pasta bowl will be enough for 2-3 servings. Salads are fresh. Their workers behind the deli/grill are really nice - my one complaint is being addressed as "Mami". I don't think we're that close, dude. Over-all, generally satisfactory experiences here.

When my order arrived, however, I discovered that, instead of the coffee I had requested, I had been sent a large cold brew coffee that I had neither ordered nor authorized. I was also charged for that substitute item. In response to my in was told that the grocery store did not have any canned coffee in stock. Later that day, I went to the store to return the cold brew, obtain a refund, and discuss the matter with the owner. Upon entering the grocery section, I immediately observed numerous cans of coffee on the shelves, confirming that the representation that no canned coffee was available was a deliberate, concocted fabrication. I explained to the owner that my concern extended beyond a single incorrect order. I described what I believed had become a recurring pattern of hostility, misrepresentations regarding available merchandise, and unauthorized substitutions that resulted in my being charged for products I had not ordered. As a customer of three decades, I expected that these concerns would be taken seriously and that the employees would receive appropriate guidance regarding professionalism, honesty, and respectful customer service. Instead, the owner chose to dismiss my complaints and refuse to take corrective action. After thirty years of patronage, I no longer had confidence that my orders would be handled honestly or accurately. Regrettably, I concluded that I had no reasonable alternative but to close my house account and discontinue doing business with the deli and grocery. Recently, an out-of-town guest, unaware of my prior experience, attempted to place an order from the deli through Grubhub. Had I known where the order was being placed, I would have recommended another establishment. The order was ultimately canceled by the deli and I was glad of it. As a senior citizen with significant mobility limitations resulting from knee and back injuries, I have relied on delivery services for many years. Accurate, honest, and respectful treatment is not simply a matter of convenience--it is essential. My disappointment stems not from a single mistake, but from what I perceived to be a pattern of conduct that ultimately destroyed the trust I had placed in a neighborhood business for more than three decades. It is unfortunate that a business relationship of such long standing ended in this manner. I had hoped that the owner would take seriously the importance of treating every customer with honesty, professionalism, and respect and his failure to do so was a disappointment.
