Really enjoyed the Italian wait staff and food. Delicious!! It was authentic food; don't be put off because it's attached to a hotel.

Sometimes I look at the conglomerate reviews for a place and I question why they're generally low…read more I try to keep an open mind about a restaurant's purpose, size, cuisine, location etc. to establish a reasonable expectation of service, food and decor. So I felt that for it's purpose, being an Italian restaurant, in the heart of Munich, during Oktoberfest, L'Osteria was hitting! I saw a line when we first got there which made me nervous because we didn't have any reservations. So I quickly made an online reservation on the spot. It didn't end up being needed because the host sat us where we preferred, at a table just inside the establishment but close enough to the outdoor seating to get a little bit of both worlds. We had a nice view of the Famtain [Hotel] building as well as Karlsplatz Square. So it seemed that a 10 min.+ wait was worth it. We immediately got drinks, specifically the Passionfruit Aperal Spritz which was so good. It's the perfect drink after a long day of walking in the heat. We also ordered a pizza, split with Spicy Pepperoni and Chicken Bacon Ranch. I wonder if we were type-cast as Americans when the Chicken Bacon Ranch part was suggested to us. Don't tell them that I told you it was good! We also had the most delicately sliced Carpaccio with just the right amount of parmesan on top. I loved all of it! So listen, for the bad reviews, I don't know what happened. I think the place is solid. You might have to wait a few minutes to be seated but the turnover should be quick enough for you to get a nice spot. If you're visiting the city it's in a nice central location. Keep your expectations reasonable and you should have a great time!

Nice space near downtiwn Munich. Busy restaurant but service was good…read more This is what I would call standard Italian food in Germany. Nothing extrodinary or unqiue, just standard fare. Pasta was ok with a good sized portiin of cheese. Lasagna was piping hot but nothing fancy or unique. Pizzas here are popular, big but thin crust and minimal toppings.

Munich is a city that you're going to want to get reservations for dining out in the evening. That said, we walked up with my mother-in-law, who was in a wheel chair and another woman came out and said, come with me. I thought we'd be turned away or have to split our group into a table of two and three but she found us a table upstairs for all five of us and showed us next door to the elevator and brought us in through the back entrance. That, is some exceptional customer service!! The food was excellent, there is pizza and pinsa, do yourself a favor, order the pinsa. The pinsa is a thicker, sourdough crust and it's just freaking good! The food came out pretty quickly, they speak English well if your German language proficiency isn't so good. Vegan options are on point! The second floor dining area is intimate but fun. We really enjoyed Pizzarei!

This is a nice restaurant very close to the famous Marienplatz…read more Food - Good, the margherita was pretty good, but they do NOT cut the pizza into slices for you at all, you must do that yourself. The spaghetti carbonara was good, and the black burger was great. Service - Very nice, friendly and helpful Parking - Very difficult to find in this area, probably just use the metro to Marienplatz and walk. Overall, this place is great.
