Penne with sausage and truffle
JY H.

We are on a mission to try different pastas in Italy! Tonight I had the linguine with seafood and Sir flower ordered the penne with sausage and truffle - truffle is popular here that every restaurant has some dishes with truffle and there are truffle stores in this little renaissance city. The dishes were great! Full of flavor and the pasta were fresh and cooked al dente, though my linguine was a bit tough after recook. The flavor was still there. I like his dish better as the flavors profile was deeper and the pasta cooked better. Not sure if it was a illusion that Just feel the flour and pasta are not the same as the ones we had in the US - not to mention sometimes hard to find homemade pasta. The service was good that they took the dish back to kitchen without any question. Also, they only cooked the pastas and left the seafood out so the seafood was not overcooked after rehear. Mixed grill seafood
Alexandra B.

Hands down some of the best, freshest grilled seafood I've ever had! Staff were so accommodating when I asked for no oil on the mixed seafood grill dish since too much oil seems to upsets my stomach. This plate was LOADED with crispy, perfectly grilled salmon, sea bass, shrimp, squid, octopus, and whole miniature squid. I was in tastebud heaven! Lemon juice flavor infused the fish and it made the taste out of this world. My favorite part was the crunchy octopus tentacles! The restaurant itself was so cosy and clean, loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're near the Medici chapel!

After a bad lunch at Caffe Giotto, we went shopping. A couple of hours later, we were hungry again. We didn't want to make the same mistake so we took longer to pick a place. This restaurant's been open for a couple hundred years which was a good sign. They had a brick pizza oven with someone making pasta by hand. It smelled so good and everyone seemed to really be into their food. There was also a trip advisor recommends sticker on their door. Was this signs of a tourist trap or did it mean good food? We were about to find out... We ordered a soup, pizza, and pasta with our server. Their hot bean soup with veggies was a perfect remedy for cold wet Americans. It was hearty without being heavy. Our pizza was thin and crisp with fresh ingredients. My pasta tasted fresh and was cooked just right, al dente. It was served with a light meat sauce which allowed me to finish. The guy making pizzas posed for our pictures. The servers started joking in Italian that he was quite the movie star.

Steak and parmesan cheese with potatoes over arugula. YUM!

We were walking around and looking for a place to eat and we decided to check this place out as they were handing out free samples of bread. We decided to eat here because they had a great deal on the florentine steak. The food prices were great and we spent less than we anticipated. The bruschetta was tasty and the main dish was soooo good. I will definitely go back to eat here next time I go to Florence!

Clam pasta

Saw the lunch specials!!! They have the clam pasta, a drink (even alcoholic) and a salad for 13 euros, but have a cover charge of 1.50. The clam pasta was actually really good, it was kind of pesto like with a lot of vinegar. I got white wine and the salad was huge. I thought it was a great lunch special. It's posted on the side but not on the menu, so you have to ask for it. Service was Italy service, meh. Pasta was good though.

What is left of our meal because it was so yummy! Amazing service

Absolutely delicious! Refreshing mist while seated outside. We ordered a bruschetta, the tavern salad, a beer and a freshly made vodka lemonade... Very fresh and delicious, highly recommend it if you are in the area after walking through the kiosks selling items or visiting the duomo :) enjoy

Firenze nights

Nestled in the heart of medieval Florence they've operated as a restaurant since the late 16th century. After chatting with the owner we learned that it was an eating house/Inn as far back as the 12th century! That is old, even for the city of Florence. The wild boar dish that I had was tasty, not transcendent. But from my experiences thus far, the culinary bar is set fairly high in Firenze. Located just a few hundred yards from the Piazza del Dumo it's worth a visit for service and ambiance alone. If you ask nicely, a beautiful waitress might serenade you with a ukulele too.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

Waiter was super friendly, taking time to explain their wines in detail and food options. They even have a kids menu with sizeable portions for older kids. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and it was definitely the best wine we had with meals in Florence. Gnocchi and wild boar taglietelle were outstanding. Had we had come earlier in our stay we might have come back again They also do a wine window which I wish I'd known about earlier because the other one we tried for fun was not good

We were browsing the menu outside when the owner was nice enough to invite us in. We ordered wine and got complementary appetizers which consisted of some meat and bread with olive oil and balsamic. We browsed the menu and couldn't decide on what to get because unlike other steak houses this one had many many other cuts to choose from but we settled on the infamous BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA. After we ordered it took about Roughly 15-20 minutes before our perfect piece of meat came out. The meat was tender and juicy and so perfectly seasoned. Every single piece of meat was meat in your mouth worthy. Even though the piece we got was huge it was sooo good my sister and I finished it no problem. We were even tempted to take the bone home and chew on it but that wouldn't be lady like... Service was good. Wasn't very many people dining when we were there but regardless they were very attentive and I would definitely be back.

We were let down by our first attempt in Florence when the meat was tough and mostly flavorless. After much research, he decided we were going to The Cut. We luckily scored reservations via thefork, one day in advance. We started off being served complimentary prosecco and a grilled mortadella amuse buche. We ordered the carpaccio chianina, grilled ember vegetables, and their daily special, an Argentinian beef (10 year old dairy cow that had been aged 60+ days). We asked if we should order any toppings or sauces, and the answer was no - neither was needed (as the flavor of the steak should stand out on its own). I appreciate that. Unfortunately, they ran out of the carpaccio chianina, so the owner comped us a chianina tartar so we could try the infamous chianina. Very tender yet robust flavor, especially with the salt. The steak (medium rare), cooked perfectly and very tender, but I can't say it was amaze-balls. Also, both this and the chianina only came in rib eye (not full T-bone), but that meant we could order 1 kg instead of the 1.2 kg minimum. That was good since between the two of us, we could not even polish off the 1 kg. The grilled ember vegetables were delicious! Too bad there just weren't that many of them. The owner apologized and told us they were on the house, since his shipment did not come in due to the holiday on Monday. We are from out of town, so honestly we wouldn't have know the difference if that was a normal or sparse portion. That was nice of him. Service was A+. Attentive, knowledgeable and so hospitable. Reservations are a must! This is a small restaurant and many parties were turned away during the duration of our meal there only.

Comes with apps, a bottle of water, and a pretty big steak. Bruschetta is good. Chicken liver patte is not bad, not a huge fan of it in general but wasn't bad. Cold cuts are a good assortment. Sadly the bread is not good. It's dry, and disintegrates when you eat it. It's not a good fresh bread that you'd expect at a quality Italian steak house. The oil and balsamic are watery and not good. Steak was tender and great flavor. Be careful when it comes out! It's still sizzling and bubbling. I got burned multiple times from the oil popping out on me while it was on the table. Potato's were ok. Montepulciano wine is good. Mode half size bottle, perfect for 2 to share if you're looking for a glass of wine with a little extra. Coed bathrooms, single stalls Pay up front. Incredible service, authentic feel, meat hanging in the front window, and very attentive staff. Between two adults we ordered the cheese board appetizer (incredible), Florentine steak (1.2 kg) to share (MUST ORDER), and a side of potatoes (Absolutely should order). For two very hungry adults this was plenty of food, I would not order more than this (warning as we almost did). The Florentine steak was so lean and tender, beautifully seasoned. The sizzle when it comes to the table was incredible to watch while we ate it. Absolutely amazing hands down.
