Everything, and I mean everything we had was so good! My advice for thus restaurant is to hang onto the cook because this was the best meal I've had in a long time. Starting with the salad; the dressing tasted home-made! I had the chopped steak. The meat was juicy, tender and flame-grilled. The mashed potatoes were real potatoes and fresh! My husband got the Wiggly Piggly sandwich, a Tower of pulled BBQ pork, ham bacon and cheese. They stamp their name on the toasted brioche bun! We were full but had to squeeze in dessert per our waitress's recommendation. And OMG! Get their version of strawberry shortcake. You'll not be disappointed. Stopped in for lunch at Oscar's over the weekend (7/13/24) and enjoyed our meal. Oscar themed for the movies with pictures and memorabilia all over the walls and throughout the restaurant. They have a pretty extensive menu of items to try. My wife had a breakfast club burger which comes with an egg served over all the burger fixins. I had a brisket burger. The bbq sauce was good but perhaps too much as it hid the flavor of the brisket. Their fries are beer batter and they give you a good portion. For the lunch rush, the service was attentive and good. I've been in town a little over a week working. I travel all over the country. This is more than a great little place. Just a great place to be. The owner and his wife are 2 of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. The staff help make this place a great place and make it feel like home. You just couldn't meet a greater group of friendly people anywhere. The food is as good as I've had any where I've been. The " Big Easy " is a Cajun pasta that's just out of this world. The steaks are hand cut and as good as I've had anywhere. Cooked to perfection. I haven't had anything that was not as good as you would want. We were sat at a table that was meant for a party of 10, that already had another family sitting at the opposite end. We waited an hour for our food. My frustration was from our server only checking on the tables around us, but not refilling our drinks as we waited said hour for our food. 2 tables that sat down 20+ minutes after us got their food before us, but our server blamed our long wait on the kitchen. Then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. The server stopped by to tell me that food was on its way, then again a few minutes later. That's when I told her, "please, I don't want to go to McDonald's across the street." BIG MISTAKE! It wasn't 2 minutes later that my meal made its way to my table. It looked appetizing enough. But underneath the piping hot gravy, laid 2 slices of cold Meatloaf. I had just driven a thousand miles and was dead tired, and hungry. Do you think I sent the food back to the kitchen? Not a chance. Plenty of seats at the bar and tables. They were maybe half capacity and the servers had things well in hand, even with two large parties present. I sat at the bar. There were four or five young men playing pool and having drinks after work. Having a good time but not rowdy. Bartender (working solo) let my beer get down to one swaller and she'd ask if I wanted another, every time. A real pro. In transit and stopped one night in Limon. The hotel clerk recommended Oscars. Since we have our dogs with us, it had to be takeout. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy were AWESOME! Hubby and I are traveling from Idaho to Louisiana. We decided to stop at the TA overnight. As we walked around to stretch our legs we saw this place and decided to have dinner. What a good choice. I ordered the homemade spaghetti. It was delicious and enough for two meals. Hubby ordered the honey siracha wings with a side of loaded nachos. He loved the wings. My husband and I were in Limon for dinner, and our hotel recommended we try Oscar's Bar & Grille. We are SO glad they did! From the moment we walked in, we knew we'd have a good experience. The décor is an homage to the film industry (yes, THAT Oscar), and framed movie posters fill the walls. There are framed headshots of all the great actors and actresses, and a smattering of other movie memorabilia as well. Our server was Sammy, and she was GREAT: very efficient, very friendly, and very pleasant. She guided us through the menu and checked back frequently to make sure we were happy with our food. We felt well taken care of. The menu is extensive and has several excellent selections; think casual dining, but a step above a coffee shop. The star of the show was the appetizer; we ordered the onion rings, and they were DELICIOUS! They were crisp without being greasy, and perfectly cooked to a golden-brown. The batter had a faint sweetness to it (and, perhaps, the onions as well) which was beautifully offset by the creamy dipping sauce. I had the salmon salad which was delicately flavored but extremely healthy and welcome after a day of travel. It was lettuce, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, capers, a slice of salmon, and a lemon dill vinaigrette. My husband had the "Slopper" burger, with green chili sauce and sour cream; it was served with fries which were crispy and well-cooked. All our food was tasty and good-sized portions. We had passed Oscar's in Limon a few time traveling East and returning back to town. Monday afternoon we had traveled 6 hours, and got really hungry. From outward appearances, and our experiences with bar & grille places surrounded by 40 18-wheelers, we could not be more surprised when we entered the restaurant. Robert Irvine would be pleased as well, I'm sure. The floor was 16 inch clean ceramic tiles, with clean grout. A little dark with all the wood furniture and paneling, but large windows all around. None of the chairs or booths I noticed had any rips in the seats. We got seated right away and got our orders taken. The tables were NOT sticky, and no distracting odors or fumes from the trucks. The bathrooms had the most unique fixtures. There was not a drop of water on the floor around or in front of any commode or urinal. The sinks were hewn out of beautiful, polished black stone. My wife said the ladies room even had 2 chandeliers. Then the food was so good. My wife had the pot roast, with awesome brown gravy; I had the chicken fried patties with cream gravy.
